Not the remnants of a past ruin, not a post-apocalyptic town, but a complete, aesthetically designed city that’s still operating normally— a city from the Divine Era.
The people underground lifted their heads to watch the ceiling cave in. Neither the soil, the stones, nor the falling city hard them, as there were multiple thin mbranes above the city, undoubtedly connected to the earth. Even debris carrying the weight of the city could disperse pressure.
Not just the mbers of the Natural Sect, even Ash and his company were sowhat stupefied.
Indeed, everything needs a contrast—if they had seen this city back in the Kingdom of Gospel, Ash and his group might have just nodded their heads, not finding it too impressive. Stones rained down like hail, scarring the face of Nightfall!
During his ti in the Kingdom of Gospel, Ash had imagined the spectacle of the second layer of the city collapsing. He never thought he would witness it in the Kingdom of Senluo.
The Undying Fla Bird, the Golden Lion Ape, the Frost Cold Peacock, and the Hosted God of the Natural Sect, four high-ranking combatants, led the Two-winged Mages into Nightfall.

The Twin Sect would not flee, as Nightfall lay behind them; neither would the Natural Sect, for if they could not bring back these hundred thousand troops, then the Natural Sect might as well disband.
In other words, when the ground collapsed, only one sect could climb out of this deep pit.
Ash and his companions almost instinctively wanted to flee from this place. Despite all they had been through, at the end of the day, they were just ordinary Mages who had not experienced war, the greenhouse plants of a peaceful era.
