Chapter 954: Chapter 713: The Swindler Doesn’t Want to Talk to You

Black Crow coughed up two mouthfuls of foul blood, the bright red liquid flowing out along the grooves of the crow mask. He stared blankly at the Swindler who blocked all the damage in front of him. It wasn’t surprising that soone ca to save him; what shocked him was that it was Igula, the one he least got along with.

Suddenly, a thought struck him, and he quickly turned to observe the surroundings.

“You’ll be disappointed, Ash didn’t co back with us,” Igula said calmly. “I told him the necessary information and let him continue with Gwen to find the Silver Lamp…”

“But Mr. Ash knew that Mr. Igula was coming back to protect you, so he had co back too.” Gwen quickly finished dressing Black Crow’s wounds. Unable to be directly affected by the Technique Spirit, she could only treat the injury this way. “He said he could handle the Silver Lamp on his own.”

“In every sense, I believe he has that backing,” Igula said. “In fact, I think we would only beco obstacles to him ‘subduing’ the Silver Lamp, so it was better to return and save you, this crow rushing to die.”

“But why did you co back?” Black Crow couldn’t help but ask. “I clearly said I would hold out with Tanomu—”

“Do you think that without showing your face, without revealing your eyes, and with your voice distorted, you can hide your intentions from , the Swindler from the Blood Moon, a Holy Domain Mage of the Spirit Faction?” Igula sneered. “You’ve hidden so well, but in these days, have I not made you cry when I wanted you to cry, and made you laugh when I wanted you to laugh?”

“So, why wouldn’t I know you want to die?”

Blood oozed from the Swindler’s pupils, and the phantom of Ash, the God Slayer, appeared in his vision, swiftly killing a Black Feather Mage who was not under Holy Domain’s protection in the distance. “When you bid farewell to Ash, you didn’t even say goodbye.”

“Many tis, because there’s no agreed eting ti, parting becos eternal separation.”

Black Crow said dejectedly, “I just don’t want to… I just…”

Igula: “You just don’t want to drag us into your grievances with the rcury Wooden Horse? I don’t want you dragging us into Silver Lamp’s conspiracy either. It’s strange, I’ve only heard of others willingly taking on heavy burdens, leaving small responsibilities to friends. How co with you, it becos us taking on the big burden and you the small?”

Black Crow remained silent, but the freshly-stopped wounds split open again. Clearly, his mind was not at peace, even his shoulders trembled slightly, and other liquid seed to be flowing from within the mask. Gwen hurriedly used an ergency blood-stopper patch to treat Black Crow’s chest wound, her expression revealing a hint of peculiarity.

“Do you realize your mistake?”

“I do.” Black Crow’s distorted voice carried a hint of a sob.

“What was the mistake?”

“The mistake was arrogantly entrusting you with stopping Silver Lamp while I hid here fighting Tanomu, using death to escape responsibility…”

“No.” Igula said, “Your mistake was not believing in Ash.”

Black Crow froze.

“To deal with Silver Lamp, he indeed is enough alone. Secondly, you made the mistake of not believing in either.”

Igula took a step back as Gwen imdiately helped Black Crow stand up, the three of them leaning together.

Aw!—

The Swindler opened his mouth, an inaudible scream echoed in the hall, increasing in damage the farther it traveled. Even if all the Black Feather Mages hid in the Holy Domain, they were still sowhat affected—while the Holy Domain could block infrasonic and ultrasonic waves of high frequency and low frequency, after Igula advanced to Three-winged, his Spiritual Scream could inflict damage in the normal sound range!

The Black Feather Mage closest to the rcury Wooden Horse imdiately turned and hugged the head of the rcury Wooden Horse. The rcury Wooden Horse squatted down, opened her mouth, and covered her ears with her hands, yet she still bled a little from her nose.

“You are the best tool for killing,” Igula rested a hand on Black Crow’s shoulder. “And I am the one most skilled at using tools.”

He glanced at Black Crow’s wounds. “Did Gwen fix you?”

“Still a few ribs unhealed,” Black Crow reversed his grip on the Gray Fox Blade. “Doesn’t matter.”

“Then, before Ash returns,” Igula said leisurely, “let’s twist off the rcury Wooden Horse’s head and play ball with it.”

“Is it necessary?”

The voice of the rcury Wooden Horse echoed in the hall. “Mr. Igula, do you think that you as a Holy Domain Mage, plus a crippled Judgent Warrior, and… let’s see, my most capable subordinate Miss Gwen, can pose a threat to ?”

“I don’t deny your abilities. Tamasi barely counts as one Holy Domain combat power, and Miss Gwen counts as 0.5, but that’s only 2.5 Holy Domain in total with you.”

“And I,” the rcury Wooden Horse slightly lifted her head, four young mages ford a human wall in front of her, each displaying their Holy Domain, “have four of my most relied upon Holy Domain Mages: Daojiong, Mokiron, Koneva, and Nandato. Not to ntion the Black Feather Guards I’ve carefully trained.”

Those Black Feather Holy Domain mages she nad kept a close eye on Igula and Black Crow. Without the command from the rcury Wooden Horse, they would have already charged like mad dogs and torn these rude intruders to shreds.

“On paper, you do not hold the advantage,” the rcury Wooden Horse said leisurely. “So why do we need to keep fighting? Can our little misunderstanding be greater than the Fate of Senluo and your lives?”

Little misunderstanding… Igula raised an eyebrow, smiling as he asked, “Since you have the advantage in numbers, why not root us out completely?”

“I never engage in petty fights. What good does it do for to kill you? Anyway, I’m heading to other nations, very unlikely to et you again, so why not resolve the misunderstanding and go our separate ways?” the rcury Wooden Horse said. “We can retreat to the upper level, and whether you stay here or go down to find Mr. Ash, we will not disturb you, imdiately leaving through the new Sky Gate passage.”

Although Tamasi destroyed an almost perfect Sky Gate passage, which indeed made the rcury Wooden Horse very angry. But she had suffered too much recently, her Thousand Wishes Inheritance was snatched away, her power was seized, and the Kingdom of Senluo, which she almost unified, is about to be turned into purgatory… Investnt failures, company bankruptcy, industry downturn, she encountered all kinds of misfortunes, and the heart of the rcury Wooden Horse was already numb.

Having endured so much hardship and loss, it further honed her psychological resilience. The trouble Tamasi caused her, she quickly digested and made the most correct choice: endure.

If it was only Tamasi, the rcury Wooden Horse naturally wouldn’t bother saying such nonsense and would just directly kill the Black Crow. But Igula not only had the qualifications to negotiate with her but also had the wisdom for negotiation.

The Swindler had grudges with her, but it hadn’t reached a situation where they must fight to the death; more importantly, now the Swindler’s side was at a disadvantage, at least with no absolute certainty of victory. Forced to compromise was one thing, but now since she took the initiative to back down, would the Swindler really fight such a losing battle with small chances of winning against the odds?

Igula seed quite motivated, “But how do I know you’re not calling reinforcents down? By then, we’ll be trapped in the Silent Spiral, unable to escape.”

Hearing that Igula was really willing to negotiate, the Black Crow’s body trembled slightly, but ultimately didn’t say anything, only focused on recovering from his injuries. Gwen gently caressed his back, becoming closer to him.

“Ordinary mages cannot pass the trials in those upper layers.” The rcury Wooden Horse said, “If you’re really worried, you can switch it so you go up one level, and we stay here. That way, we’re the ones stuck below, unable to reach the surface to call reinforcents.”

“As for whether we will go down to hinder Ash, you don’t have to worry, we’ve already shown enough sincerity just now — we didn’t prevent you from finding the Silver Lamp.”

“Indeed, you even welcod us to find the Silver Lamp.” Igula frowned, “So I’m very curious — you didn’t hinder the Silver Lamp, nor did you hinder us, what exactly do you want to do? If you just want to enter the Silent Spiral to open the Sky Gate, you could have occupied the Silent Spiral in advance, why let the Silver Lamp go first?”

“Secrets make people more charming.” The rcury Wooden Horse said, “Surely you understand this principle, Igula.”

“…Wait.”

At this mont, the Black Crow held his head and murmured softly, “It seems there’s another person… Tanomu is not the strongest leader here, there is another mastermind above her…”

Hearing the Black Crow’s words, the Black Feather Mages appeared confused, and so even showed signs of headaches. The rcury Wooden Horse was slightly stunned and imdiately rembered — yes, she never wanted the Silver Lamp to activate the Destructive World Technique, but why did she let the Four Pillars God Sect protect the Silent Spiral, allowing the Silver Lamp to reach the bottom layer to construct the technique smoothly?

She rembered, she lost the highest leadership, the Four Pillars Gods appointed soone who took away her power. These days, she had been acting on that person’s orders.

Who is that person… that person… who is it!?

“Vishi!” The Black Crow finally dug up that na from the murky mories, “He went to the bottom layer too! The Four Pillars God Sect has intentions regarding the Silver Lamp!”

“rcury Wooden Horse!” Igula shouted, “Do you have an ambush down below!?”

“It’s not —”

Miracle·Psychic Thrust!

Just as the rcury Wooden Horse instinctively responded, Igula softly whistled, his voice condensing into a blowgun dart, piercing through the Holy Domain, aiming at the head of the rcury Wooden Horse in the crowd!

Bam!

A huge electric current roared in the air, scaring the rcury Wooden Horse into sitting down on the ground, watching as the lightning veil before her was pierced into web-like cracks.

“There’s actually a Defense Miracle inside the Holy Domain.” Igula calmly said, “You’re the most cowardly and fearful person I’ve ever seen.”

“Mr. Igula.” The rcury Wooden Horse took Daochong’s hand and stood up, speaking coldly, “I’ve already expressed enough goodwill.”

“Not only now, since the first night we arrived in Senluo, since we began the pursuit of the Silver Lamp, from the afternoon we reached the Dead City, every ti you’ve expressed enough goodwill.” Igula said, “So I know your goodwill is like toilet paper, easier to rot.”

“Dealing with soone like you, there can be no negotiations or compromises, only tearing your face apart brutally with blood and fire!” Igula said with disgust, “Resolve misunderstandings? Voluntarily back down? I don’t care to guess your thoughts, but you will never just give up, you’ll keep brewing so plot to drag us to hell! Anyway, we’re going to fight in the end, why beat around the bush with you?”

The Black Crow nodded his head in strong agreent.

The rcury Wooden Horse was so angry she was almost in tears for a mont.

This ti, she genuinely wanted to run away, not wanting to have more entanglents with Igula, Ash, or Tamasi! She just wanted to escape the collapsing Senluo and start anew in other nations, she had no intention of wasting efforts to harm others!

But none of them were willing to believe her!

Tamasi insisted on killing Charlin, causing the Sky Gate passage to collapse, while letting them leave would have been the greatest gift to Senluo; she proactively backed down, offering multiple plans, but Igula didn’t choose any of them, insisting on fighting to the end!

In the eyes of the rcury Wooden Horse, she and Igula should be the sa kind of people, who like to play strategic gas, viewing ‘battle’ as a last resort for rational people! Only with a high chance of victory or when there’s no choice, would they opt for such a brutal ans as ‘battle’!

But even the most scheming Swindler didn’t want to take a seat at her table, instead, he flipped the table and engaged in all-out brawl!

“I hate,” The rcury Wooden Horse said through gritted teeth, “idiots like you who are so full of themselves!”

“And I’m the exact opposite,” Igula leisurely said, “I love arrogant clients like you.”

With a sound of a kicking sonic boom, the Black Crow danced again in the hall of bloody wine and corpses. But this ti, there weren’t just starlights flying around him, but also wandering phantoms paving the way ahead!
