Mateo didn’t respond. He brewed a cup of hot coffee, then rembered that today was Saturday, a college holiday.
Originally, he had planned to wander around the city during the break, but now he felt it was better to just go to Magic World instead.
He drank the coffee first. His eyes instantly beca extrely refreshed, making it impossible for him to fall asleep naturally.
Yet the mont the coffee was gone and he thought about entering Magic World, he imdiately fell asleep and reappeared inside that underground chamber.
His strength had grown considerably, and there was one thing he was curious about.
Whoosh!
He leaped upward and punched the ceiling.
BANG!
Part of it shattered open.
The montum from his jump still remained.
He didn’t even fall back down and successfully climbed out.
While absorbing Spiritual Energy, he had spent an entire night there. It was now morning.
However, heavy rain and fierce winds filled the area.
The towering grass swayed endlessly beneath the storm.
In just a mont, Mateo’s robe beca soaked from the rain.
Constant lightning made the sky seem even brighter than noon.
Of course, it flickered nonstop.
Still, it didn’t bother Mateo at all.
He carefully walked forward while vigilantly scanning his surroundings.
Whoosh!
Before he could get very far, a massive snake lunged toward him with its mouth wide open.
It was incredibly fast and looked utterly starved.
(Level 17 Monster!)
Mateo received the notification.
Just the snake’s head alone was as large as a car. He couldn’t even estimate its full length since his view was obstructed.
His dagger appeared in his hand.
Mateo poured Spiritual Energy into it while coating it with Primordial Fire.
The mont he slashed forward, it released a massive flaming blade.
The snake’s mouth split apart, and the slash continued all the way through its body.
At the sa ti, the flaming slash continuously burned its flesh until it turned to ash.
The rain couldn’t extinguish the flas whatsoever.
A transparent crystal sphere appeared from the middle section of the snake’s body, but the instant the Primordial Fire touched it, it imdiately turned into ashes as well.
Since this had already happened countless tis, Mateo no longer cared.
DING!
(You killed a Level 17 Monster. You obtained 0.10 Heaven Path Soul Energy Points and 1 System Point!)
[System Point: 1]
[Soul:]
Heaven Path Soul > 0.6 (SSS Class Soul)
The notification that appeared didn’t make Mateo happy. It only annoyed him.
1 and 0.10, it was way too little.
Was it because he had beco stronger?
DING!
(Your Diamond Bones increased from 20% to 21%!)
[Body:]
Primordial Life Body (SS Class Body)
Diamond Bones (21%)
Another notification appeared, surprising Mateo.
His Diamond Bones had improved.
He still hadn’t figured out the thod behind it. Apparently, fighting was one of the requirents.
There was no way it had increased simply from killing that snake. It had to be the accumulation from all his previous battles.
Mateo imdiately checked the forum and searched for Diamond Bones.
He instantly found information on how to improve it.
The core factor was the accumulation of adrenaline.
That was what pushed bones to evolve into Diamond Bones.
Killing monsters, facing great danger, all of it generated adrenaline that stimulated the bones inside the body to evolve.
The most effective thod was danger itself, not just from monsters but also from humans.
Of course, in Magic World, there were always extraordinary thods that could help without actual combat or danger, such as the Calamity Potion.
If consud, it would make soone experience a sense of danger so real that the body genuinely believed it, creating extre false tension.
That tension would stimulate the evolution of one’s bones.
However, it was an expensive item. Soone would need to pay at least an A-Class Weapon just to obtain a single bottle of Calamity Potion.
The increase it provided could even reach 30%, or at the very least 20%.
Still, the process wasn’t easy and could affect one’s ntality.
In the end, it was practically a type of drug and could even influence the body on Earth because the effects clung to the mind.
Of course, it could also be upgraded through System Points, but the price was ridiculously high.
"No need, absolutely no need..." Mateo wasn’t planning to use that thod.
He could still rely on Heaven Path Soul.
Previously, it had only cost 6 Heaven Path Soul Energy Points to gain a 20% increase.
Even if the next upgrade cost slightly more, it still wouldn’t be that difficult.
Mateo continued moving forward while gripping his dagger.
He hoped to encounter a truly powerful monster, just not a Monster King.
"Run faster!"
"Damn it, a Level 20 Boss Monster. I didn’t expect it to be this strong."
"As long as we get farther away, it won’t keep chasing us..."
Amid the pouring rain, Mateo heard several people shouting from ahead.
Coincidentally, there was a small hole filled with wet grass nearby.
He imdiately hid inside it.
And he couldn’t help being shocked when he recognized one of the fleeing figures as Samuel Baker, the man who had already died on Earth.
Mateo had personally witnessed Samuel’s strength and considered him extrely powerful within the Adept Realm. Yet even he was running away.
Just how terrifying was that Boss Monster?
After those people passed by, Mateo began feeling heavy vibrations.
A massive creature seed to be approaching.
He wasn’t worried, though. If he really needed to escape, he could simply teleport away using the Star Wheel.
