As Mateo was wondering about it, the centipede opened its mouth toward him, and he saw one twenty-ter-long centipede after another crawling out from inside it.
In a short mont, twenty centipedes had erged, charging toward him like starving beasts.
He frowned, wondering if there was truly no limit to the creature’s ability to split itself.
Rather than confronting them, he chose to teleport back into the underground chamber.
His plan had failed because he had not expected the centipede to possess armor.
Naturally, the way he attacked would have to change.
Buzz!
He released even more Primordial Life Elent there until it practically burst out in waves.
The centipede seed to completely forget about the disturbance.
It imdiately plunged its head into the hole it had dug to devour the Life Elent, unaware of Mateo’s presence inside.
Mateo smiled strangely.
Anyone could beco blind in the face of sothing they desperately desired, let alone a Monster.
The centipede’s face and legs were the only parts not protected by armor.
Simply cutting off its legs would not kill it, but if he attacked its face and destroyed its head, could it still survive?
So far, he had noticed that his Diamond Bones had increased by 3%, rising from 25% to 28%.
Even though the battle had been brief, the effect was obvious because it was a boss.
Now then, how should he attack?
After a brief mont of thought, he teleported and appeared directly in front of the centipede’s face, his cheeks puffed up.
Buzz!
He spewed Primordial Fire straight into the centipede’s open mouth.
The flas surged inward, burning its head from the inside.
Its body was actually fragile, far weaker than the raccoon he had fought before.
The fire easily annihilated its head and continued deeper into its body, reducing every piece of flesh in its path to ashes.
However, Mateo could only stare in amazent when he saw that the centipede’s armor completely withstood the flas without lting.
It seed to be fireproof.
His flas reached nearly halfway through the creature’s body.
If half of its body had been destroyed, death should have been certain unless it possessed regenerative abilities like the Deep Earthworm.
Yet Mateo received no notification.
What did that an?
Whoosh!
He teleported upward, and his eyes instantly widened.
A new head suddenly erged from the centipede’s tail.
Having lost half its body, it abandoned its armor and fled rapidly toward the swamp.
’So that’s what it’s capable of...’
Mateo did not panic.
With only half its body remaining and no armor, the centipede was currently at its weakest.
With a single thought, he appeared above it.
BANG!
A punch struck him before he even realized what had happened.
Only the pain told him he had been hit.
Sohow, a giant fist the size of a truck had appeared out of nowhere.
The blow sent him flying violently.
His organs might have been torn apart by the impact.
His vision blurred instantly before his body rapidly healed itself.
Then he saw a bald, shirtless man with a third eye on his forehead.
His chest was broad and covered in muscles, and a furious lion-face tattoo stretched across it.
Mateo felt sowhat uncomfortable just looking at him, yet he also had the feeling that he had seen this man before.
Without a doubt, he was from Earth.
After all, he had appeared out of nowhere.
BANG!
The man threw another punch at the centipede.
This ti, his fist expanded until it beca larger than the centipede itself.
The punch flattened the monster completely.
DING!
(You contributed to the death of a Level 20 Boss Monster. You have obtained 10 Heaven Path Soul Energy and 150 System Points!)
(Your Diamond Bones have increased to 29%!)
[System Points: 170]
[Soul:]
Heaven Path Soul > 11 (SSS Class Soul)
Diamond Bones (29%)
Mateo, "..."
Only a contribution?
He frowned.
According to his calculations, he should have received more rewards than when he fought the raccoon, or at least the sa amount.
Instead, he only received about two-thirds of that reward.
anwhile, the bald man smiled faintly as he flicked his hand and collected the centipede’s Monster Core.
"Not bad. This centipede is finally dead," he said.
His gaze then shifted to the centipede’s armor, which suddenly shrank rapidly before reshaping itself into human-sized armor.
DING!
(Anti-Elent Armor, an A Class Equipnt that is unaffected by all elents!)
Even from a distance, Mateo still received a notification containing information about the armor.
Now it was clear why his attacks had failed to penetrate it.
It wasn’t rely fire-resistant.
It was completely unaffected by elental power, while his slash simply lacked the raw force necessary to break through it.
At that mont, Mateo saw the bald man’s hand suddenly expand as he reached for the armor.
How could Mateo possibly allow that?
He teleported, appeared behind the armor, grabbed it, and instantly stored it inside his Inventory.
"Teleportation? Kid, do you have a Star Wheel?" Shock imdiately appeared on the bald man’s face before it turned into anger.
Boom!
An explosive aura erupted from him, causing the ground to tremble.
This was the aura of a Peak Adept.
However, before he could attack, Mateo imdiately teleported to a distant location.
He let out a sigh of relief.
If that armor had not ended up in his hands, he would have cried.
The loss would have been far too great.
After stretching his body, he chose to return to Earth.
It was already night.
Although he had originally planned to stay in the Magic World and absorb Spiritual Energy, he wanted to eat dinner first.
His physical health was sothing he could not ignore.
This ti, he was slightly surprised when he did not see Jack in the dormitory.
He wondered where he had gone.
After all, he had planned to treat him to dinner.
So he called him.
"Hello, Mateo. What’s up?" Jack answered almost imdiately.
"Where are you? I want to treat you to dinner," Mateo replied.
"Oh, really? Unfortunately, I can’t. I’m on a date right now." Jack sounded extrely excited.
Mateo rolled his eyes when he heard that.
