Chapter 1039
Flas roared around Lucien’s feet and arms, allowing him to vault backward like a rocket just in ti, but he was still not quick enough as Alba’s swords sliced through his robes and tore a small line across his chest that drew blood.
The man vaulted backward and landed on the shadow ground with a deep frown on his face.
His strongest affinity had just been cut off from him, and the opponent hadn’t even deployed a domain?
How was this possible?
’What should I have expected? He is Julius’ son after all.’
Looking at the shadow ground for a mont, it was obviously solid as he hadn’t sunk into it.
And it seed like he didn’t even have to worry about the shadow ground doing sothing to him directly, as he had been standing on it for several seconds and nothing had happened.
Lifting his gaze, Lucien could see a dozen water tentacles flying his way with rapid velocity.
He was about to summon the earth when he realized his situation in ti and quickly opted to dodge instead.
Weaving in between the constructs with the help of his boosted body from the flas, he managed to evade each and every one of the incoming strikes.
Bang—!
Spinning around with a wall of flas roaring forward, the barrier absorbed the impact from Mada’s sword, which had been about to slice through.
Lucien vaulted upward and descended onto the warrior’s head with a fiery kick.
Suddenly, Mada sunk into the shadows, causing Lucien’s kick to crash into the ground harmlessly, scattering flas in all directions.
A frown caressed the man’s face as he looked at this display furiously.
Whirling around with flas licking his leg, he swung it forward to et a kick from Alba that was inches from hitting him.
BAM! Booom—!
Both legs collided with a massive crash that shook the shadowy ground as flas scattered in all directions from Lucien’s foot.
They struck the shadow, and the surface rippled for a single mont.
This hadn’t escaped the man’s gaze as he spotted the shadows giving way for just a fraction of a second before coming back together.
’I see....’
Swoosh!
Consecutive strikes of the sword were rushing toward him from Alba.
But with precise dodges, Lucien was able to avoid them as he angled and canted his neck around.
The swords flew past his face, inches from striking him down.
Booom—! WAM!
A massive ball of water smashed into his back with crushing force, causing Lucien to stumble forward for a second with a pained look on his face.
He almost collapsed on his knees from the strike.
But he quickly slamd his foot down to steady himself on the ground as Alba was coming in hot, a crimson Ki slash hurtling toward his head from below.
Quickly spinning around like a ballet dancer, he avoided the slash that cleaved through the shadows for a mont.
Then, from the ground beneath his feet, Mada could be seen appearing out of the darkness with a sharp thrust from below.
Lucien caught sight of this and, with a frown, a huge fireball roared into existence and was hurled down at the rising descendant.
Imdiately, Mada sunk back into the shadows just as the fireball struck his previous position.
The shadows rippled fiercely as they gave way for a split second.
Lucien smiled for a mont at this but didn’t take advantage of it... yet.
Lifting his hand to the sky, a thousand fire arrows suddenly roared into existence, hovering in the air and waiting for the command to launch forward.
Kael looked at this worriedly.
Click!
The arrows were sent screaming downward with full force, all of them poised at his enemies.
"Careful, these could burn intensely," he shouted a warning quickly.
Jay swung his hand forward, and almost instantly, two hundred water arrows burst forth to et the flas head-on.
Mada closed his eyes for a second as visual ki roared into existence around his sword in the form of a yellow wave of water.
With a swing of his hands forward, a gale of water burst forth from the blade, shooting into the air with rapid velocity.
Within a second, the entire sky shuddered as if an explosion had been unleashed.
BOOOOM—!
The attacks collided mid-air with a devastating crash.
Neither side completely canceled each other out, but the force of the collision and the opposing elents caused a thick cover of mist to spread out into the air, shielding everybody’s view.
Unhesitatingly, a pair of shadow wings quickly ford behind Kael, and then with a massive flap, the mist was blown apart, revealing a clear view.
Lucien was nowhere to be seen.
"Above!" Alba shouted.
Everybody looked upward to see the man wreathed entirely in flas.
It was like he was made of raw fire, as his whole body was consud from head to toe.
He was hovering above the ground while glaring down at his enemies below.
With a fierce spin, he suddenly shot downward like an arrow of pure fla.
His speed was neck-breaking, as even the sound barrier seed to give way before his descent.
"What is he—?"
"Scatter!" Kael shouted, and soon enough, everybody bolted in different directions.
WAM! BOOOOM—!
A massive explosion detonated in the area as a shockwave that spread ten ters outward burst forth.
The shadows covering the earth gave way, while chunks of rock billowed into the air.
The entire ground was now as clear as it used to be, as the shadow field retreated the mont the fire-wreathed man crashed into it.
Kael stumbled for a mont as blood dripped down his nose, but it was as if he didn’t even notice the impact.
Blue arcs of lightning surrounded his body with fierce intensity as he could see the earth beginning to respond to the Zodiac’s command once more.
With a clamorous bang, he pounced forward like a blur, his lightning sword fizzling with destructive energy.
Within a jiffy, he reached the man and wasted no ti in hauling the lightning sword forward with all his might.
A sundering wave of lightning energy burst out of the sword with imnse force toward Lucien, who stared at the incoming strike with a conflicted expression on his face.
