Chapter 991

After ensuring that Lilly was stabilized, Leo turned to find Fenrir pushing himself upright.

It wasn’t that the mage was physically broken beyond repair; rather, his mana reserves had been entirely drained.

Now, with his arm nded, he could finally move with his usual grace.

Walking forward, he regrouped with Leo and Lilly.

The archer was barely able to keep her eyelids from fluttering shut, yet she managed to fix her gaze on the cataclysmic duel occurring in the distance.

Swirling Ki toward their eyes, the trio obtained a crystal-clear visual of the combat, as if they were standing re inches from the fighters.

The violent shockwaves from Gunther versus Ortiz and Grey versus Devan rippled through the air, repeatedly rattling the very walls they stood upon.

Those soldiers who had been positioned too close to the epicenter had long since retreated to grant the powerhouses the vast space they required.

The Primordial-ranked beast Devan had utilized as a mount remained rooted in the sa spot, an immovable monolith.

The surrounding shockwaves were unable to even nudge its massive fra.

Thalos kept one eye fixed on Grey’s struggle while the other remained locked on the dormant beast.

His mind raced, calculating and seeking any possible vulnerability to topple a creature as vast as a mountain.

Noir, currently in his unassuming pup-like form, moved through the ranks of the Dawn forces.

His eyes scanned the environnt, watching for any enemy foolish enough to attempt a treacherous maneuver.

He had been poised to strike when Grey slid into the enemy encampnt earlier, noticing the subtle twitches in the soldiers’ limbs that signaled an impending lunge.

However, he had stood down once he witnessed the wind swords manifest and harvest their heads.

’It seems he truly has eyes everywhere,’ Noir mused.

That was when Grey had made the audacious decision to "even out" the playing field against Devan.

High above, Han and Dan refused to divert their attention for even a second.

"Is it just , or does the Supre Magus keep glancing in our direction?" Han questioned.

He couldn’t shake the nagging sensation that prickled his skin every ti the warrior mage looked toward the firmant.

Grey’s line of sight seed consistently directed their way, despite the fact they were tucked behind dense clouds with their auras so tightly suppressed that no one should have been capable of noticing them.

Dan lifted a skeptical brow.

"That shouldn’t be possible. Our presence is perfectly masked. No one on this field should know we are here; you must be imagining things."

Han shook his head lightly, the intuition still gnawing at his gut.

’... I doubt I was. This warrior is unlike anyone I have ever encountered. He moves differently, and his instincts have been proven right multiple tis throughout this engagent. He is not soone to be underestimated.’

Then, the true shock hit!

The Supre Magus had essentially handicapped himself under the guise of fairness.

They had all initially thought him mad as the heavens darkened with a predatory gloom.

They watched as the combatants clashed with a vigor that threatened to unmake the terrain.

Then, the sky scread like an awakened beast.

Every eye looked up to see an enormous pillar of lightning shrieking downward, only for it to freeze mid-descent as if ti itself had been paused.

Such a feat seed impossible, as the other fighters were still moving freely.

Even Fenrir’s brows knit in confusion.

’He can halt his own elental attack mid-launch? Wait... has he already manifested a domain?’

That was when the chilling truth was revealed: it was a masterpiece of a feint.

Everyone, including Devan, had fallen for the distraction.

By the ti Devan could snap his gaze back down, his chest had been torn open by Clara.

Blood gushed out in a macabre display as the leader staggered backward, his body wracked by sudden, trendous agony.

Reeling from the blow, Devan’s face was flushed with genuine, unfiltered disbelief.

He touched his chest, grimacing as the wound stung with the lingering heat of lightning.

Lifting his hand, he stared at the crimson sared across his palm.

Looking back toward his opponent, he found Grey grinning like a madman.

Clara was dripping with blood.

... Devan’s blood.

Lifting the blade and pointing it forward, Grey angled his head to the side with a chilling nonchalance.

"I didn’t want Clara to taste the blood of just anyone; I intended her for the Otherworlders. However, I don’t mind her drinking the life of anybody foolish enough to stand in my path."

He swung the sword to the side, and the blood splattered against the parched earth with a wet, heavy sound.

"... You would have lived if you had just stayed in your lane. But no! You wanted to just ss with . Every damned person just wants to ss with . Why?! What have I ever taken from you bastards that you always want to wage war against ?!"

As he spoke, anger was beginning to build up in him.

It wasn’t only him, Devan was beginning to fu with an anger that couldn’t be contained.

If it was possible, his head would have been oozing with smoke at the mont.

"You shouldn’t have," Devan spoke softly almost like a whisper.

Then, the blood rolling down his chest stopped.

From the gash on his chest, the blood spread all around his body.

Energy began flooding the man’s body as the ground began shuddering trendously.

Infact, the whole earth was trembling it felt like a massive earthquake was coming.

Everybody were losing their footing. Staggering like a bunch of drunkards.

Even Gunther and Ortiz who had been so engrossed in their battle and hadn’t noticed what was going on earlier, paused imdiately.

The ground shaking under their weight.

Devan’s body was now turning a shade of crimson.

Cracks appearing on the ground beneath his feet.

Grey was confused by what was going on.

Ortiz slowly turned around to look at his leader’s crimson body.

His eyes turning a pair of obsidian.

Muscles bulging increduosly that it almost looked like he was a sculpted statue.

Slowly, he was rising above the ground.

That wasn’t right, his feet was still grounded.

Grey’s pupils dilated as he was inclining his head towards the sky slowly to see Devan increasing in height.

The man’s skin was now a deep crimson. The gash on his chest closed tight as if it never existed.

Within a minute, Devan was now as tall as a tree.

Ortiz frowned.

"Crap. Devan’s special ki technique. They are all fucked."
