Chapter 993
BANG—! BOOOOM—!
The enormous pillar of lightning descended upon Devan with overwhelming force.
Instantly, the ground beneath the giant erupted upward in a chaotic rain of debris and scorched dust.
A massive blanket of gri saturated the entire area while residual sparks of electricity flickered and flew through the air like dying stars.
"Ah... weak."
Waving his massive hand through the atmosphere, Devan unleashed a blast of wind that surged outward, clearing the dust to reveal he was perfectly unhard.
One of his hands had been lifted casually above his head to intercept the lightning pillar—a strike that had done nothing more than slightly scorch the surface of his skin.
The attack was gone, and so was the caster.
The Behemoth’s eyes swiftly shot toward the sky to see Grey hovering above him with a pair of wind swords gripped tightly in his grasp.
Bang—!
Grey kicked the air with all his might, rushing downward with thunderous velocity.
He spun his body mid-descent, rotating like a living tornado to build montum.
BAM—!
He smashed his wind swords into Devan’s face with everything he had.
Shatter—!
The blades shattered as if they were made of fragile glass rather than reinforced elental constructs.
The strike didn’t even leave a faint mark on the giant’s visage.
The mage’s eyes widened for a fraction of a second before the air was violently displaced at his side.
He was forced to vault upward just in ti as Devan’s massive hand clapped through the air at the exact spot he had occupied.
BANG—!
A clamorous sound echoed through the battlefield, followed by the splintering of the earth where the giant’s palm had slamd against the soil.
’That was close.’
Grey kicked off the air, ascending further as he caught sight of Devan staring straight at him with a wide, predatory grin.
Before the mage could process the movent, Devan launched himself into the air, pursuing him with blistering speed.
With his gargantuan fra, the leader didn’t even have to jump for long before his hand swooshed through the sky toward the Supre Magus.
Spinning around like a wheel, Grey manifested a pair of lightning swords in his grip.
Without hesitation, he swung them forward, smashing the blades into Devan’s open palm.
The high-voltage sparks of electricity shocked the giant, forcing him to montarily withdraw his hand.
Spinning once more, Grey exploded forward with such thunderous speed that, in the blink of an eye, he crashed into the giant with his swords streaking toward the man’s neck.
CLANG—!
The swords struck at the sa mont Devan landed back on the ground, shaking the very foundations of the earth.
The giant’s fist shot upward, aiming directly for the mage’s exposed back.
Blinking out of the way, Grey narrowly managed to avoid the crushing blow.
Landing on the ground a few ters away, Grey planted his palms firmly on the soil.
The earth surged in response almost imdiately, rushing toward the giant’s feet like a great serpent hoping to curl around its victim.
Noticing the movent in ti, a yellow sheen appeared in the air around Devan’s hand.
Within a second, a massive war hamr forged from Ki appeared in his grasp.
Unhesitatingly, he swung it downward, smashing the weapon into the earth.
The impact instantly created a hollow twenty ters deep that yawned open, kicking a massive chunk of debris into the sky.
ZAP—!
Grey lunged forward like a streak of pure lightning.
He passed through the airborne chunks of debris, zipping and weaving between the falling stones.
His speed broke the sound barrier as he magnified his movent with the wind elent, forcing the kicked-up rubble to fall back to the ground almost imdiately as he bypassed them.
In a blink, he was in the air again.
His eyes rolled around to catch sight of the massive war hamr already moving toward him with blazing, lethal speed.
Ki warped and wrapped around the mage’s hands, and soon enough, a war hamr the size of Devan’s own materialized in his grip.
Swinging it forward with everything he had, the two Ki weapons t dead in the air.
The world seed to freeze for half a second.
The ground beneath them trembled as if the planet itself were holding its breath—and then, the release happened.
BANG—! BOOOM—!
The earth was ripped open beneath the point where the hamrs collided.
For fifty ters onward, the terrain was transford into a landscape of massive craters and jagged gouges.
A violent shockwave blasted outward in a twenty-ter radius, catching everything in its path.
Thalos and Noir were hit by the front of the blast.
Like the stoic gargoyle statue he was, Thalos simply gripped the guard of his sword, which he had lodged deep into the soil.
He barely flinched as the pressure smashed into him.
Noir, on the other hand, was struggling to hold his ground.
His paws were dug deep into the earth, his claws sliding through the dirt like a hot knife through butter.
The displaced air ruffled his fur aggressively, but he maintained his gait and composure, refusing to look weak in front of the gargoyle General.
A winner was finally declared from the clash of the hamrs.
Grey’s hands were thrown violently to the side, his war hamr disintegrating into a rain of yellow sparks.
Simultaneously, Devan’s fist cut through the air like a teor hurtling toward the Supre Magus’ torso with imnse velocity.
Grey wanted to zip away in ti, but he was trapped in the recoil.
All he could manage was to swirl his Ki into the precise spot where Devan’s fist was about to strike.
Realizing that wasn’t enough, he commanded the earth to surround his body like a secondary layer of armor.
WAM—!
Devan’s fist smashed into the spot with crushing force and weight.
Even with his specialized coating and multiple layers of protection, the impact was agonizing.
It felt like being whacked in the stomach with a thousand boulders.
Blood shot out of the mage’s mouth forcefully, the spray uncontrolled as the air behind him blasted in all directions from the kinetic transfer.
His body was about to be hurtled away like a discarded toy, but clenching his jaws, the Supre Magus refused to allow it.
Flas roared into existence, forming a pair of ropes embedded deep into the earth on either side of the giant.
Grey gripped the fiery handles just as he was about to be sent flying.
Tugging at the elental tethers, he launched himself back at Devan with massive speed.
He looked like a lightning arrow let loose from a celestial bow.
Within a second, another gigantic Ki war hamr appeared in his hands.
"TASTE YOUR OWN DICINE!"
WAM—!
The weapon shattered against Devan’s face with thunderous force.
The earth beneath them was ripped apart even further, yawning wide until it looked like an abyss.
Sparks flew in every direction from the point of impact, and Grey remained frozen in the air for a heartbeat, his teeth grinding together as he poured every ounce of his strength into the blow.
