At the sa ti Hamr was flying toward Marine Headquarters at Marineford, in the New World, on a solitary island occupied by the Beasts Pirates, the crew's main base stood tall.

At the center of the island was an enormous and magnificent building.

"Damn it, King, hasn't Boss Kaido co back yet?"

A bald, overweight man with sunglasses, purple lips, and a golden braid on his head sat at the entrance smoking a cigar.

Behind him stood a tall, powerfully built man with a well-proportioned body completely covered in black clothing. He wore a mask, goggles, a black double-breasted outfit with skull symbols on the collar, and black gloves, without a single inch of skin exposed.

"But I estimate he should be back soon."

The speaker's voice was low and emotionless.

"Tch. My research funding's running out again."

"King, give more money, will ya?"

"No."

"Wait until Brother Kaido cos back. If he agrees, then I'll give you money."

"But Queen, I'm honestly curious. Does your lousy research really need that much funding?"

These two were the twin pillars of the Beasts Pirates: King the Wildfire and Queen the Plague.
