Elara POV
I am giddy as a schoolgirl as I get ready for dinner with my mates. We have been through so much since the mating ceremony. Hell, we even had a baby, but we have never been on an official date. We have never been to a restaurant, enjoying good food and wine.
I decide on an erald green dress. It brings out my eyes and complents every curve of my body, and I want to look nice for my mates.
“Elara, are you ready?” Selena asks from the other side of the door.
“Yes, co on in,” I shout, checking my lipstick.
“Wow, you look stunning,” Selena complints as she plops down on my bed.
“Thanks,” I smile, my stomach making a ridiculous sorsault as I imagine my mates’ reaction.
“Oh, and your car’s waiting,” she adds.
“Are Kane and Axel already waiting?” I ask, looking at my watch, but I am on ti.
“They left,” she replies nonchalantly. “You have a car and driver, and he’ll take you to them.”
“What are you talking about?” I frown. They did not ntion anything about a car.
“Look, I’m only the ssenger,” she sighs. “Oh, and the babysitter. Your kids will be fine while you ... whatever. I delivered the ssage, so bye.”
“Selena, what’s going on?” I ask as she stands up.
“Ask them yourself,” she giggles, walking away and closing the door behind her.
Curious and confused, I pick up my purse and leave. The only way I will find answers is for to go.
The driver gallantly opens the door for , and I get in.
“Where are we going?” I ask as he pulls away, but he only smiles and keeps on driving.
I exhale deeply in frustration and sit back. I get the ssage. He has been ordered not to tell . Well, who am I to spoil my mates’ fun? I will know soon enough. But the further he drives, the more confused I get. We have already left Constantine’s borders and are in the woods.
Just as I am about to beco concerned and contemplate an escape plan, the car stops, and the driver gets out, opening the door for .
“Follow the trail,” he says, pointing towards a candle.
Intrigued, I follow the line of candles until I reach a clearing. I gasp softly when I see a blanket spread out in the adow, surrounded by more candles. Fairy lights are hanging from the trees, and there is an ice bucket with champagne.
I turn slowly, drinking everything in, but there is no sign of Kane and Axel. I take a step closer and suddenly, Axel and Kane erge from the shadows. They are deadly gorgeous in their tuxedos, and my heart literally stops for a second. Goddess, they have always been gorgeous, but this is sinful.
I want to say sothing. I want to tell them how much I love this, how handso they look, but my words have dried up, and I can only stare at them. Neither of them says a word as they walk towards .
Out of the blue, they kneel in front of , and I press my hand against my fluttering heart.
“When we first t, we were cruel to you,” Kane says, and I look at him, confused. Have we not put the past to rest?
“We thought we loved Alice,” he continues. “But we didn’t know what love was until you showed us.”
“We have tricked you and forced your hand,” Axel adds. “It was always about us, and our needs, and we neglected you, and didn’t appreciate you.”
“And still, you forgave us,” Kane says. “You protected our daughter, you protected us.”
“We did everything wrong,” Axel continues. "Now, we want to make things right.”
“You didn’t have a choice when you were mated to us,” Kane sounds nervous, and I look at him, perplexed. “So, now we’re giving you one.”
“Elara Montgory,” they say in unison as Kane pulls out a ring and Axel picks up a bouquet of roses. “Will you be our mate, and Luna?”
My knees are suddenly weak and wobbly, and I kneel in front of them. I want to cry, I want to hug and kiss them, but I am too overwheld to move.
Kane and Axel look nervously at each other and then at .
“Elara?” Kane asks softly.
“You don’t have to say yes,” Axel adds softly. “We’ll understand if ...”
“Yes!” I cut him off, throwing myself into his arms, kissing him feverishly.
Axel’s arms go around my waist, and my hand reach out towards Kane. He intertwines his fingers with mine, and I pull him closer. Still in Axel’s arms, I turn my head and kiss Kane with every ounce of love that is pulsing through .
I have forgiven them such a long ti ago that I can hardly rember everything that has happened. It does not matter anymore, and it has not for a long, long ti. They proved their love and devotion a long ti ago.
Kane pulls away, and srised, I watch as he pushes a ring on my finger.
“We should celebrate,” he smiles, reaching for the champagne.
