Married For Now Chapter 3: WHAT A REUNION

THE POWER of money is both amusing and appalling.

That was Sohee's thoughts while sitting on a bench inside the police station. He was sitting next to Kim Heedo who was busy playing a ga on his phone.

Of course, the Dominant Alphas' two victims were also there.

The students— now patched up after a trip to the ergency room— were sitting on the bench next to them.

Those kids are supposed to be Alphas as well, but they can't even look at Kim Heedo.

It wasn't just the students.

The victims' mothers— both Alpha won— arrived at the police station fuming.

Sohee was nervous at first because the Alpha won looked like the bad type of "boy mom," aka mothers who believed their precious baby boys were perfect little angels who couldn't do wrong.

He was right because the two Alpha won started berating Sohee and Kim Heedo.

But they shut up as soon as Kim Heedo's lawyer arrived and introduced himself as the legal representative of Ilsung Group.

It was a sight to behold when the Alpha won realized that Kim Heedo was a chaebol.

They're the type of Alphas who are strong against the weak, and weak against the strong.

Now the Alpha won looked docile while talking to Kim Heedo's lawyer for the settlent.

Just like that, the problem was solved.

Legally, at least.

Sohee turned to the two students who were acting as ek as their mothers. "Hey, kids."

The two students flinched before turning to Sohee, their expressions looked awkward.

It looks like they're resentful of us when they should be feeling remorseful.

But when Kim Heedo raised his head, the two students imdiately lowered their heads.

"Betas have eyes, too," Sohee said, flashing his business smile at the two kids who flinched. "Just because you're Alphas doesn't automatically an you're attractive. If I were Kosmos' Jamie, I wouldn't even glance at your stupid faces even if you pay ."

The students blushed as if they were embarrassed.

Good.

"And get your head out of the gutter— just because you are Alphas doesn't an Betas and Ogas are dying to have sex with you," Sohee said, still smiling. The more he was pissed, the more he smiled. It was a condition he developed after working in the service industry since he was a teen. "You know what? As an Oga, I think my face alone could pull more idols than the two of you could ever will."

The students, this ti, looked like they were about to explode from embarrassnt.

It didn't help that Kim Heedo suddenly burst out laughing.

Does Kim Heedo find it funny that an Oga is competing with Alphas when it cos to rizzing up people?

Well, whatever.

"Hey, you probably think you're on the top of the food chain just because you were born Alphas," Kim Heedo said, sneering at the two younger Alphas who were already shaking in fear. "But, just so you know, there will always be an Alpha who's stronger and more dominant than you— rember that if you want to survive in this world. That's my precious advice to you as an older Alpha."

Sohee turned to Kim Heedo, slightly impressed. "You sound like a grown-up just now, Kim Heedo."

Kim Heedo raised an eyebrow. "I am an adult, Hyung."

Yep, this kid is already big.

In every sense of the word, Sohee would find out later.

"HYUNG, we need to talk."

Right.

Sohee wasn't surprised when Kim Heedo followed him after the two of them were finally allowed to leave the police station.

Yep, everything had been settled already.

Kim Heedo was unscathed by the incident.

"Let's talk here," Sohee said, sitting on the curb of the police station's parking lot. "I feel safe since we're literally in front of a police station. I can just scream if you try to hurt ."

"You're hurting my feelings, Hyung," Kim Heedo complained lightly, sitting next to Sohee— leaving a decent space between them, thankfully. "I know that I left a bad impression when I resorted to violence earlier, but I'm already reflecting on it. Do I still look scary to you?"

"Nothing is scarier than a rich, powerful Alpha who doesn't hesitate to resort to violence— all because he knows he won't face consequences for his actions."

"Ah," Kim Heedo said, scratching his cheek as if he was embarrassed. "I'll be more careful from now on."

"I know I'm acting like a hypocrite for scolding you after I talked shit to the students to humble them, but let still say this, Kim Heedo: you overdid it," Sohee said, sighing while shaking his head. "But I'm letting it slide since I know why you reacted that way. Kosmos' Jamie is your boyfriend, right?"

"Ex."

"Huh?"

"We broke up a long ti ago."

"I see."

"Hyung, you reacted as if it was none of your business."

"Because it is none of my business?"

"Aren't you frustrated?" Kim Heedo asked curiously. "You turned down my grandfather's request to marry , and you even said you'd root for and Lee Junsu. But we broke up just a few months after that. My grandfather laughed at my face when he found out."

"Well, your grandfather is a horrible person."

"We recently discovered that Grandfather has a brain tumor, Hyung."

"Brain tumor sucks, but that doesn't change the fact that your grandfather is a horrible person."

Kim Heedo blinked as if he was surprised. "I know I should feel upset since you're insulting my grandfather, but why do I feel healed?"

"Because you agree with ," Sohee said, suddenly wishing that he had a cigarette with him. "Were you looking for because your grandfather's bad karma had finally caught up with him?"

"It's not just my grandfather who has experienced terrible luck recently. My mother, father, and twin younger siblings also got hurt the past two weeks. Now the whole family is convinced that the shaman isn't a fraud."

"So, you asked to marry you?"

"Did you regret turning down my grandfather's offer years ago, Hyung?"

"I do," Sohee answered without hesitation, looking straight into Kim Heedo's eyes. "That's why I won't turn down your marriage proposal this ti, Kim Heedo. I'm done being poor— I want to live my life without worrying about money again."

"Good choice, Hyung."

"Won't you regret asking to marry you?"

"I will probably regret it in the future," Kim Heedo said bluntly. "But I need to marry you for now, Hyung."

"It's a good thing that we have divorce in this country. You'll pay alimony, right?"

"Look at us— already talking about divorce when we aren't married yet."

"But that's where our marriage is headed anyway, so it's better for us to talk about it now before we get married," Sohee said, clapping when he rembered sothing. "I don't believe in verbal agreent, so let's put everything in a contract."

"Sure, if that's what Hyung wants."

"Let's finish this conversation tomorrow."

"Why wait for tomorrow when we're already talking about it?"

"I need to gather my thoughts and list down all the terms that I want in the contract."

"Ah, that makes sense."

"And I'm giving you a few more hours to think about this arrangent again, Kim Heedo," Sohee said in a serious tone. "Both of our frontal lobes aren't fully developed yet, so we're probably committing the biggest mistake of our life here. Having said that, I'm not changing my mind since I don't want to be devoured by a certain loan shark."

"Uh-huh."

"However, you're not as desperate as I am, so you're allowed to change your mind. If that happens, you can just give money again like you did a few years ago."

"Hyung, you're stupidly kind. If I suddenly change my mind, you're going to regret this again."

"I know, right? I'm stupid. I can't believe I'm giving you a chance to reconsider this whole thing when I'm supposed to be begging you to marry ."

"Don't worry, Hyung— I won't change my mind."

"Again, I don't believe in verbal promises."

"Don't leave your house, Hyung," Kim Heedo said, giving Sohee a small reassuring smile. "I'll visit you with my lawyer— let's finalize our contract and register our marriage tomorrow. After that, I'll deal with the loan sharks chasing you."

Of course, this kid already knows I'm being chased by loan sharks.

As expected of a chaebol.

They like running background checks on people.

"Alright," Sohee said, nodding. "I'll be waiting for you then, Kim Heedo."

Kim Heedo pressed his temples.

He clearly heard what the student Alpha said at the convenience store earlier.

I stayed away from all news related to Lee Junsu in an attempt to move on from him. But how can I ignore him when he might be in a dangerous situation?

"Ahjussi."

Shin Kang— Heedo's personal secretary-slash-driver-slash-bodyguard in his early forties— glanced at Heedo in the rearview mirror briefly before focusing on the road again while driving. "Yes, Young Master?"

"Please investigate Planet Entertainnt," Heedo said in a serious tone. "I want you to find out if that shitty company is forcing Kosmos mbers to accept sponsorship— and please focus on Lee Junsu in particular."

"Yes, Young Master," Shin Kang said politely. "I'll look into it."

"Thank you."

After a few more minutes, they finally arrived at the restaurant where Heedo was supposed to et Yang Jaewon.

He was working with his friend to catch the stalker who attacked his forr hook-ups.

But that bastard is good at running and hiding.

Heedo's thinking process was only interrupted when he got a call from Yang Jaewon. He picked it up after greeting the restaurant staff who opened the door for him. "I'm already here."

"I'll leave if you're not yet here in ten minutes."

BOOM!

Heedo didn't get to hear what Yang Jaewon was yapping about because of the loud explosion.

Yes, an explosion.

Dammit!

KIM HEEDO probably changed his mind.

Sohee waited for Kim Heedo for the entire day.

But it was already 10PM, and there was still no sign of the Dominant Alpha showing.

He definitely changed his mind.

Sohee wanted to beat himself up for letting his golden goose slip away from his grasp once again.

Stupid, stupid! Haven't you already learned your lesson three years ago?!

He was seriously about to pull his hair until he beca bald when he heard the doorbell rang.

Those loan sharks don't ring the bell, so it must be my golden goose!

Sohee imdiately got up from the floor and ran towards the door, opening it without even checking the peephole first.

Yep, stupid.

"Park Sohee, are you that excited to see ?"

Platinum blond buzzcut hair.

A prominent scar on the left eyebrow.

Lethal face card.

Tall, as in 200cm tall.

Built like a refrigerator.

This man dressed in a simple black suit was Jin Taejoon— the leader of the loan sharks that Sohee's father owned.

Shit.

"I'm here to collect you, Park Sohee," Jin Taejoon said, grabbing Park Sohee by his waist. "I'll erase your debt if you give birth to my child."

Oh, I'm fucked.

No— it was more like Sohee was about to be fucked violently.
