Gu Yanshen’s last nerve snapped with a "twang."

He didn’t even bother to take off his shoes.

The whole of him lunged forward like a leopard.

"Let go!"

He grabbed Gu An’s hand, which was barely the size of a bun.

His other hand pinched his son’s cheeks directly.

He applied a bit of force.

Gu An was forced to open his mouth.

"Pfft."

A small, silver-colored tal component spit out.

It landed right on Gu Yanshen’s palm.

It was the firing pin.

Gu Yanshen glanced at his palm, and cold sweat instantly ran down his back.

This kid had put the firing pin in his mouth!

If he had swallowed it, they would have to rush him to get his stomach operated!

Gu An was very displeased.

He frowned with brows so faint they were nearly invisible and wiped his drool with the back of his hand.

Then.

He sat upright on the pile of books.

Not wanting to pay attention to this rude man.

Only then did Gu Yanshen clearly see the state of the chair’s surface.

He took a sharp intake of breath.

It wasn’t just the firing pin.

The recoil spring, slide, trigger components, magazine...

All neatly arranged.

From left to right, lined up according to the disassembly order.

Even those tiny screws were lined up according to size and height.

This wasn’t random disassembly.

This was standard field breakdown action.

Gu Yanshen was an expert in firearms.

He instantly saw that this thod of disassembly was even more skillful than the batch of newbies under his wing who had trained for a year.

"You did this?"

Gu Yanshen squatted down, bringing his line of sight level with his son sitting on the pile of books.

Gu An said nothing.

He picked up the empty gun body and shoved it toward Gu Yanshen’s chest.

His intent was clear: put it back together.

Gu Yanshen found it amusing.

"You took apart my gun and now you want to clean up after you?"

He deliberately ssed up the row of components.

Clattering sounds followed.

All the components got mixed up.

"Fine, aren’t you capable?"

Gu Yanshen crossed his arms, looking at his son who was only half a year old.

"If you know how to assemble it, I’ll call you dad from now on."

Gu An gave him a look.

That look seed to be evaluating an idiot.

He reached out with two chubby little hands.

Fiddled a couple of tis amidst the ssy pile of components.

Soon.

The slide was pushed out.

Next was the recoil spring.

Every component pushed out followed the first step of assembly.

But he didn’t do it himself.

His hands were too soft, lacking strength, unable to compress the springs.

He pushed the components toward Gu Yanshen.

Then tapped the table.

"Tap tap."

Signaling to Gu Yanshen: Get to work.

Gu Yanshen was dumbfounded.

He picked up the slide, tentatively inserting the recoil spring in reverse.

"Snap!"

Gu An’s small hand swiftly slapped the table.

The sound was crisp.

He took back the recoil spring, turned it around, and pushed it toward Gu Yanshen again.

Also.

Rolled his eyes.

Gu Yanshen: "..."

He took a deep breath.

Following his son’s direction, he installed the spring.

Then ca the next one.

This is how the father and son duo worked, one directing, the other working.

In less than ten minutes.

"Click."

A crisp sound.

The Type 54 pistol was fully assembled.

Gu Yanshen held the gun, feeling his palm grow warm.

This wasn’t a dream.

His six-month-old son was a monster.

"Knock knock knock."

The courtyard gate was knocked on.

"Mr. Gu! The missus asked to bring you so noodles!"

It was Jiang Zhou.

He pushed the door open, carrying a large sea bowl.

As he walked in, he saw the impressive Mr. Gu squatting on the ground, assembling a gun for his son...

"Mr. Gu, are you training new recruits?"

Jiang Zhou leaned in and set the noodles on the table.

Gu Yanshen stood up, not responding.

"This little guy took it apart."

Jiang Zhou’s hand shook, almost dropping the chopsticks.

"Who?"

He pointed at Gu An still sitting on "Das Kapital."

"An An?"

Gu An didn’t even glance at Jiang Zhou.

His gaze fell on a string of tools hanging on Jiang Zhou’s waist.

There was a miniature screwdriver there.

Gu An’s eyes lit up.

He reached out, pointing at the screwdriver.

"Ah... ah..."

Jiang Zhou is a quick thinker and imdiately took off the screwdriver to hand it over.

"Here, here, here, whatever you want, uncle will give it to you."

Gu An got the screwdriver and imdiately ignored everyone.

He grabbed the gun that Gu Yanshen had just assembled from the table and jabbed at the screw on the handle.

The posture was clumsy, but the position was spot on.

Jiang Zhou was so shocked his eyeballs almost popped out.

"Mr. Gu... This... isn’t it wrong?"

"It’s only been a few months?"

"I think it would be a sha if he doesn’t beco a special forces soldier in the future!"

Gu Yanshen grabbed the gun back, put it back in the holster, and casually tossed the holster back to the top of the cabinet.

"Beco a damn soldier."

"With his fra, can he even carry a gun?"

Gu Yanshen looked at his son, whose eyes were extrely infatuated with machinery.

"He’s ant to make guns."

Jiang Zhou slapped his thigh.

"That’s right!"

"Weren’t we worried about the blueprint problem for the new rifle just a few days ago?"

Jiang Zhou took out a crumpled blueprint from his pocket and spread it on the table.

"This latch structure, no matter how it’s designed, it gets jamd."

Gu An was originally playing with the screwdriver.

Seeing the blueprint, his little head leaned over.

He looked for a while.

Suddenly, he extended his finger, wet with saliva.

He drew a circle in a corner of the blueprint.

Then he drew a line next to it.

That’s where the ejector should be.

Jiang Zhou was stunned for a mont.

He stared at the spot circled for a full three minutes.

Suddenly, he slamd the table.

"Holy crap!"

"So it’s here!"

"The ejector is too short! Adding three milliters would solve the jam!"

Jiang Zhou was so excited he picked up Gu An and gave him a big kiss.

"Genius! This is genius!"

Gu An pushed Jiang Zhou’s stubbled face away in disgust.

He buried his face in Gu Yanshen’s arms.

Didn’t want to play with a fool.

Jiang Zhou didn’t mind being disliked.

He looked at Gu An’s small hands unable to hold large tools.

"Mr. Gu, the kid’s hands are too small."

"He can’t use regular tools."

"I’ll go to the factory later and make him a set of custom miniature tools!"

"All in reduced versions!"

Just as he finished speaking.

The broadcast outside in the courtyard sounded.

"Buzz—"

"Notice, notice."

"In response to the national call to cultivate special talents, the Beijing University youth class selection program has officially launched."

"All children with exceptionally high intelligence and special talents can register for testing..."

The broadcast was still sounding.

Gu Yanshen raised an eyebrow.

He hadn’t spoken yet.

The courtyard door was suddenly hit open with a "bang."

Two figures charged in as if in a speed walking competition.

On the left was Professor Liu from the physics departnt with a cane.

On the right was Professor Wang from the Agricultural College, carrying a bag.

The two of them ran until they were gasping for breath, sweating profusely.

But the mont they saw Gu An, their four eyes lit up with green light.

"Yanshen!"

Professor Wang tossed the bag to the ground; it was filled with freshly picked apples.

"I heard! The youth class!"

"Give An An to !"

"I want to take him to the Agricultural College! With his talent for structure, he’ll be a top hand in agricultural machinery!"

"Bullshit!"

Professor Liu slamd his cane loudly.

"What’s the point of farming?"

"Did you see those glass beads the other day?"

"That’s physics! That’s chanics!"

"He must co with ! Go to the physics departnt!"

Professor Wang wouldn’t have it.

He grabbed Professor Liu’s sleeve.

"Old Liu, do you have any sha?"

"This child is my student’s child! That makes him my grandstudent!"

"I’m into agriculture, his mother studied agriculture too, that’s what’s called passing down the heritage!"

Professor Liu knocked off Professor Wang’s hand with his cane.

"Heritage my ass!"

"Science has no borders, nor departnt boundaries!"

"Using such a brain for farming would be a terrible waste!"

"I want him to calculate ballistics! To make missiles!"

Two old n with a combined age of over a hundred.

Just in the small living room of the Gu Family.

Arguing red-faced and neck-strained.

Even started shoving each other for a six-month-old baby.

"Let go!"

"I won’t! This child is mine!"

Gu Yanshen took a step back, holding Gu An.

Afraid of getting accidentally hurt.

Jiang Zhou was dumbstruck.

"Mr. Gu... This..."

Gu Yanshen looked down at his son in his arms.

Gu An was still tightly clutching that miniature screwdriver.

Facing the two professors who seed ready to blow the roof off.

He yawned.

His eyelids drooped.

He was getting sleepy.
