"Gu An, Gu Ning."

Lin Wan Yi called out.

"Co over and take a look, what is this?"

Gu Ning in the cradle was the first to react.

She babbled, waving her chubby little hands in the air, her bright, wide eyes firmly attracted by the vivid colors she had never seen before.

On the other side.

Gu An, who had been engrossed in twisting wires into complex shapes, stopped his actions.

He tossed aside his treasured wire.

This was sothing that never would have happened before.

He turned his head.

When he saw the painting on the wall, he froze entirely.

He stood up, took his short little legs, and quickly walked to the wall.

Then, he just tilted his head, motionlessly staring at it.

In his eyes, like black grapes, was the reflection of the round little sheep hanging with a bell.

Lin Wan Yi laughed.

Looks like it worked well.

Her genius son was finally interested in sothing other than dismantling the house.

"Knock knock knock."

Just then, the courtyard door was knocked on.

Lin Wan Yi walked over to open it.

Standing at the door was Su Qing, her neighbor from next door, holding the hand of a sturdy little boy.

"Wanyi, are you busy?"

Su Qing looked embarrassed.

"We’re out of vinegar at ho, I was wondering if I could borrow so from you."

"No problem, co in." Lin Wan Yi stepped aside to let her in.

As soon as Su Qing stepped over the threshold, her son Xiao Hu bolted in like a wild horse freed from its reins.

"Hey! Xiao Hu! Slow down!"

Su Qing shouted anxiously from behind.

"I told you not to run around! Don’t break Auntie’s things!"

This child was famously known as the "Demon Lord of Mayhem" in the entire residential compound, leaving chaos wherever he went.

Lin Wan Yi didn’t mind; her house didn’t have any fragile items anyway.

"It’s fine, all kids are lively."

Xiao Hu completely ignored his mom’s words.

He rushed into the room, his dark eyes darting around, instantly spotting the pile of "treasures" Gu An had placed on the carpet—screws, tal pieces, and dismantled radio parts.

He grinned and let out a strange cry, ready to lunge forward.

However, after just two steps.

His whole body seed to hit a pause button.

He suddenly froze in place.

He wasn’t looking at the toys on the ground.

Instead, he was staring straight, with his head tilted up, at that wall right in front.

His mischievous little mouth, always wearing a sly grin, was now wide open, as if it could fit an egg inside.

"Huh?"

Su Qing was also stunned.

Following her son’s gaze, she looked over.

The next second, she was dumbfounded too.

"Oh my god..."

She couldn’t help but gasp softly.

"Wanyi, your wall... what is this?"

On the previously plain white wall, there was now a painting.

She couldn’t tell what it was, maybe a sheep, maybe not quite.

But those colors!

The red was so bright, the yellow so vivid, the white so pure!

In this era dominated by black and white, blue and gray, such a colorful painting was striking.

It was like a rainbow suddenly appearing in a black-and-white movie.

"Just so random painting for the kids to play with," Lin Wan Yi replied lightly.

Su Qing didn’t take any of it in.

Her face was full of amazent.

"These colors... Where did you get this paint? It’s gorgeous!"

Her own husband worked in promotion, and she had seen the best paints his unit offered, which looked like mud compared to this.

Xiao Hu was completely enchanted by the painting.

Step by step, slowly, he walked toward the wall.

His deanor was so devout, like a pilgrim on a pilgrimage.

He reached the front of the painting.

He reached out with his little hand, just hours earlier dirty from playing in the mud.

Gingerly, he moved his finger toward the most enticing pink shade on Happy Sheep’s cheek.

He wanted to scrape off that color.

Just as his fingernail was about to touch the paper’s surface.

"Smack!"

A crisp smack sounded.

A small, fair hand, fast as lightning, slapped down hard on Xiao Hu’s hand.

Xiao Hu yelped, withdrawing his hand.

He turned his head.

Only to see Gu An, at so point, standing in front of the painting like a little guardian deity.

Gu An’s pretty little face was cold, his expression was a spitting image of a miniature Gu Yanshen.

Facing Xiao Hu, who was half a head taller than him, he showed no fear.

Then, under the astonished eyes of two adults.

Gu An’s lips moved.

He uttered two words, clear, precise, with undeniable authority.

"Mine."

Su Qing was utterly dumbfounded.

This wasn’t the first ti she had seen Gu An; that child was usually as quiet as a little mute, ignoring everyone but his parents.

She always thought the child wasn’t fluent in speaking yet.

Who would have thought...

Not only could he speak, but with such presence!

Lin Wan Yi was also a little surprised.

She squatted down, patting her son’s head.

"Gu An, share with Brother Xiao Hu."

Gu An remained unfazed.

He reached out his small arms, stubbornly protecting the painting on the wall, his large eyes vigilantly watching the "intruder" Xiao Hu.

His stance declared that anyone who dared touch it would face his wrath.

Xiao Hu’s hand stung hotly, his mouth quivered in injustice, on the verge of tears.

Su Qing was completely embarrassed, both awkward and contrite.

"Oh gosh, I’m so sorry, Wanyi!"

She quickly went over, pouring a bit of vinegar from the bottle Lin Wan Yi had handed her into her own bowl.

"This child is too naughty! I’ll take him away right now!"

She set the bowl aside, reaching out to pull Xiao Hu’s arm.

"Let’s go, Xiao Hu! Ti to head ho! Stop bothering Auntie!"

Xiao Hu seed rooted to the spot.

Su Qing tugged, but he wouldn’t budge.

"I’m not going!" He squird, refusing to leave that wall.

"You brat! Hurry up and co ho with !" Su Qing was getting flustered, exerting more force.

"No!"

Xiao Hu’s stubborn streak kicked in.

He stared intently at the painting, his eyes turning red.

"I want that!"

"What do you an ’want that’? That’s Auntie’s!" Su Qing was both angry and anxious, trying to forcefully drag him away.

This action lit the fuse.

Xiao Hu stumbled as he was yanked.

He simply let his legs give way, his whole body collapsing to the ground.

Then.

"Wah!"

A deafening wail echoed throughout the room.

Xiao Hu began rolling around on the clean cent floor, playing his tricks.

Crying and screaming with all his might.

"I want it! I want that painting!"

"I want it! If you don’t buy it for , I won’t get up! I won’t go ho!"

"Waaahhhh! I want that sheep!"

The crying was heart-wrenching.

His deanor suggested that if he didn’t get that painting, he might just perish there.

Su Qing stood frozen, watching her son sprawled on the floor, throwing a tantrum with tears and snot covering his face.

Completely stunned.

She had raised this "Demon Lord of Mayhem" for three years, breaking countless things, desiring toys as nurous as the stars.

But she swore.

She had never, never seen her son so obsessed with anything, crying so heartbreakingly like today!
