An old Daoist, holding a Banner and a Shaking Bell, ambled over, muttering to himself.
Although the old Daoist’s robes were covered in patches, he seed to be a tidy person, as his clothes were free of dust.
"Madam, please wait. Would you like to read the fortune of the child in your womb?" the old Daoist asked, stepping in their way.
Su Liyan and her mother ignored him and kept walking.
"Don’t you want to know if it’s a boy or a girl? Or if it’s human or..." The old Daoist trailed off suggestively.
Su Liyan’s mother didn’t believe in any of it. After all, from her experience, this man was nothing more than a common street swindler!
But upon hearing that, Su Liyan stopped in her tracks. She looked back and asked, "Old Sir, how do you read fortunes?"
In truth, Su Liyan didn’t believe in such street tricks either. Normally, she wouldn’t even bother to acknowledge such a person, let alone give them a second glance.
If it were the holess squatting by the roadside, Su Liyan would have been happy to give them so money.
As soone who had co from hardship herself, she naturally understood how difficult life was for those who suffered.

Su Liyan had fallen right into the old Daoist’s trap, completely ensnared by his words.
Su Liyan’s mother cut in angrily, "Stop spouting nonsense! You’re full of crap! Get out of our way."
"If you do not believe , Madam, then so be it. But if you wish to learn the truth or seek a way to avert this misfortune, co find at South Thirty Li Castle, outside Yandu City."
The old Daoist ambled away, saying nothing more.
Su Liyan’s mother pulled Su Liyan away, storming off and muttering indignantly.
"Hmph, so street swindler. How dare he try to fool us? Who does he think we are? Even an ordinary Celestial Master would be like clay in our hands."
Su Liyan, however, remained silent.
Su Liyan had previously thought Lu Yuan wanted a son, so she only dared to eat spicy food in secret.

With a single glance, Su Liyan could see several thatched-roof huts in the distance.
These huts were clearly abandoned and had been for so years.
