Chapter 540: Chapter 247 Wangliang Courtyard_3

Even at this mont, he was not worried even if soone exposed his identity.

Worst case scenario, he would just force his way through.

But the problem was, once he resorted to brute force, the Second Flag Order of Youquan Sect would surely be alerted.

At that ti, Su Mo would have to bet which was more important to the Night Lord—the Chii Forest or the Wangliang Courtyard.

If the Wangliang Courtyard was deed more critical, the result might well be thousands of Youquan Sect disciples led by the Second Flag Order and the masters of the Eternal Night Valley launching a joint attack against him.

That would be quite unfavorable.

Moreover, with more people, more chaos would ensue; if anyone did not wish for the Wangliang Courtyard to fall into either his hands or the Night Lord’s, they might just set the place on fire.

Su Mo would then truly be driven to tears.

At this juncture, the best course of action would be to silently infiltrate and discover the truth.

Thus, Su Mo boldly followed them in and entered the heart of the Wangliang Courtyard.

Upon stepping inside, the stench of blood grew even stronger.

The Blood Pond inside the Sword Tasting Tower of Yuliu Manor was sothing the followers of the Youquan Sect still endeavored to keep hidden.

The heads mounted in the Sword Tasting Tower, on the other hand, were mainly used for intimidation.

It could be considered a kind of collectible for the Youquan Sect.

But the practices within the Wangliang Courtyard were entirely different.

Not to ntion the blood stains everywhere, sotis just by glancing up into the rooms, one could see figures gasping for breath, suspended in mid-air, their chests gouged open, fresh blood dripping steadily to the floor.

The ground of the Wangliang Courtyard, however, was quite distinct from the surroundings.

There were trenches written into the ground, weaving together to form patterns.

Heart Blood flowed through these trenches to an unknown destination.

Su Mo discreetly slipped away as the patrol team rounded a corner, then began his ‘free movent’ within the Wangliang Courtyard.

But this place was completely foreign to him; while he ant to explore, he montarily had no idea where to search.

After a long search, apart from the suspended corpses within the Wangliang Courtyard, he found nothing else of note.

“Where should I start looking?”

Su Mo stood in place, looking sowhat distracted.

However, monts later, he turned his attention to the blood-filled trenches on the ground.

In silence…

The layout of the Wangliang Courtyard was extrely peculiar; it seed all the blood was flowing in a singular direction.

The entire Wangliang Courtyard was like a funnel, with its core being the center of the funnel.

All the blood also seed to be converging in that direction.

“…Could this be the key?”

Su Mo’s eyebrows slightly raised, and without a particular aim, he decided to head in that direction to take a look.

Soon after, Su Mo arrived at a certain location.

There stood a hall, neither large nor small.

Exquisitely designed, yet imbued with strands of eeriness.

On either side of the hall’s entrance hung two lanterns, but the flas inside were not normal but emitted a faint green glow.

Beneath the green light, the frighteningly ghastly signboard appeared above the front of the hall.

Inscribed with: Hundred Demons Hall!

Chii Forest, Wangliang Courtyard, Hundred Demons Hall!

Su Mo’s lips curled slightly: “In terms of pretending to be gods and playing tricks, I’m afraid not even the people of Yin Mountain could match the Youquan Sect?”

And, although the Hundred Demons Hall was located at the central position of the Wangliang Courtyard.

There was surprisingly no one guarding it.

This was quite unusual…

After a brief contemplation, Su Mo approached the hall’s doors, reached out, and pushed them open.

A faint sound arose, like a long sigh from the Hundred Demons.

Only Su Mo, with his exceptional skills and boldness, could step into this place; another person, even amidst this eerie atmosphere, would already be trembling with fear, let alone dare to walk further in.

Yet upon entering, Su Mo found that this place truly lived up to its na as the Hundred Demons Hall.

Inside the hall, it wasn’t just a single statue being worshipped.

Instead, there were statues one after another, with at least a hundred statues arranged within this hall.

Su Mo didn’t bother to look at them first, but turned back to glance at the gate of the grand hall, wondering if it would close on its own…

He waited for a while, but the gate did not move.

Su Mo then sighed and decided he had to do it himself. With a flick of his sleeve, the doors of the grand hall suddenly closed.

At this point, Su Mo began to observe these Hundred Demons Statues in detail.

“The gallows of Yuliu Manor, the Hundred Demons Hall in Wangliang Courtyard…

“They are practically identical.”

He looked over the statues one by one, each with its distinct shape.

There was the hanging ghost, Headless Ghost, Long Tongue Ghost, starving ghost… everything that one could think of.

After surveying the statues, Su Mo noticed a relief at the back of the grand hall.

It depicted the Hundred Demons Map.

After comparing them closely, Su Mo nodded slightly:

“The Hundred Demons Map carved here matches the Hundred Demons Statues within this hall…

“But why do I feel that sothing is off?”

Su Mo’s brows furrowed slightly as he scrutinized the Hundred Demons Map.

Then he took another look at the surrounding Hundred Demons Statues.

After pondering for a mont, he simply started counting them.

After completing a full circuit, he counted all the Hundred Demons Statues: there were ninety-nine in total.

He returned to the relief of the Hundred Demons and compared each one again, only to discover that the relief depicted an even one hundred statues.

“One statue is missing…”

Su Mo was slightly taken aback, thinking, “That shouldn’t be!”

This was reality, not a mystery escape room ga; how could soone leave such an obvious clue?

And if there really was a hidden chanism within the Hundred Demons Hall, those in the know would naturally know how to proceed without needing such a reminder.

“Unless soone arrived here before and, after unlocking the chanism, conveniently destroyed one statue to leave a clue for later cors?

“Could it be him?

“But if that were truly the case, why didn’t the people from Youquan Sect simply make another statue?”

This thought surfaced in his mind, but he didn’t ponder it too deeply.

After all, there were many possibilities…

It could be that the material for making the statues was hard to co by, or perhaps there was a special secret within these statues that the Youquan Sect couldn’t replicate.

Imitation may lead to more flaws, and trying to supplent the imitation could introduce even more inconsistencies. It might be better to just leave it alone.

The number one hundred changing to ninety-nine would not be noticed by most.

At this mont, Su Mo took another detailed comparison and realized it was a Big Head Ghost that was missing within this grand hall!

Thinking of this, he suddenly leaped up and slapped the Big Head Ghost on the relief.

With a “click”, that part of the relief collapsed inwards.

The next mont, within the entire grand hall, the sound of chanisms in motion echoed.

Suddenly, the ninety-nine evil ghost statues in the hall simultaneously turned, facing the sa direction.
