Within Dayang Mansion, majestic buildings stood in dense rows, displaying opulent grandeur. A man-made river, nearly ten ters wide, carved its way through the mansion grounds. The surface of the river sparkled, and rows of willows were planted on both banks, their branches skimming the water’s surface as they swayed with the wind.
On the broad walkway by the river, two figures walked side by side.
The one on the left was slender, with waterfall-like jet-black hair. Her every frown and smile tugged at one’s heartstrings. It was Yang Wanyi.
The young man beside her was Luo Feng.
"The City Lord Mansion of Dayang City is indeed impressive. The scenery here far surpasses that of the Purple Sun School," Luo Feng exclaid, admiring the surroundings.
The architectural layout of the City Lord Mansion seed haphazard at first glance, but upon closer observation, one could see the clever design; each spot had sothing eye-catching.
Yang Wanyi looked at Luo Feng, her beautiful eyes eting his. Covering her lips with a delicate hand, she chuckled softly and said, "Wait until you’re admitted to the Twelve Golden Palaces. Only then will you understand what a true paradise on earth looks like."
Luo Feng had long heard that the locations of the Twelve Golden Palaces were all blessed lands, so he rely nodded.
As they walked side by side and reached a secluded spot, Yang Wanyi suddenly stopped.
Luo Feng turned his head, saw Yang Wanyi looking at him, and asked, "What’s the matter?"
Gazing at the young man before her, Yang Wanyi’s beautiful eyes flickered. Her mind raced with a myriad of thoughts, and she didn’t know where to begin.
After a mont, Yang Wanyi let out a soft sigh, looked at Luo Feng, and said, "The friend you ntioned before, the one who was critically poisoned... was that my father?"
"Mm," Luo Feng affird with a nod.
An obscure light flashed in Yang Wanyi’s beautiful eyes. "Then, when you ventured deep into the Red Chain Mountain Range last ti, was it to find Spiritual dicine for my father?"
Luo Feng thought Yang Wanyi was about to question him for not being truthful. His heart imdiately tensed; this woman was not one to be trifled with. He forced a laugh. "Yang Wanyi, the City Lord didn’t want you to know about this, so..."
Yang Wanyi gently shook her head, her eyes fixed on Luo Feng’s. "You only need to answer yes or no."
Luo Feng, feeling helpless, could only nod. "Yes."
Yang Wanyi gazed at Luo Feng, studying him closely as if seeing him for the first ti. The depths of the Red Chain Mountain Range are fraught with danger. Even Spiritual Rotation Realm experts must be cautious when entering. Yet he dared to brave the perils and search... for my father.
Gently biting her rosy lip with her pearly teeth, Yang Wanyi suddenly stepped forward and lightly hugged Luo Feng.
Luo Feng froze. "Yang Wanyi, you..."
"Luo Feng, thank you... Thank you... If it weren’t for you this ti, my father... he might have..."
Yang Wanyi bit her lip, her voice quivering as she spoke the last words. That outco was sothing she could never have accepted.
This girl... she’s actually crying...
Luo Feng felt the dampness on Yang Wanyi’s shoulder, and his heart trembled slightly.
The Yang Wanyi who was always so imperious in public, as passionate as fire—she was actually crying!
Letting out a slow breath, Luo Feng gently patted Yang Wanyi’s back. "No need to thank . He’s my future father-in-law, after all. What I did was simply my duty."
Hearing this, Yang Wanyi’s delicate figure stiffened slightly. She suddenly released Luo Feng and murmured, "That marriage agreent..."
The words had barely left her lips when Yang Wanyi felt a pang of regret. She quickly turned away. "Let’s go. The celebratory banquet should be starting soon."
Luo Feng gave Yang Wanyi a curious glance. She seems a bit different today compared to usual.
The banquet continued until evening. By the ti it was winding down, most people in the City Lord Mansion had faces flushed red, their eyes hazy with drink.
"Young Master Luo Feng, I, Tian Chen, used to admire only the City Lord. But now, I have to add you to that list! If not for your generous help today, we might not be standing here tonight. I toast to you!"
"Indeed, Young Master Luo Feng, you were truly magnificent today! Defeating three Blood Demon Sect experts with your Cultivation at the peak of the Ninth Heavenly Court Realm—if word of this gets out, it will surely make many jaws drop!"
"In the future, if you ever give the word, I, Xue, will go through fire and water for you, without hesitation!"
The City Lord Mansion guards who had participated in the dayti battle all crowded around Luo Feng’s table to toast him. Even a few of the mansion’s Stewards were among them.
This scene seed sowhat strange to those who hadn’t witnessed the battle earlier that day.
Today’s celebratory banquet was for Yang Dingtian’s recovery, yet Luo Feng had clearly beco the main focus.
Faced with the crowd’s overwhelming enthusiasm, Luo Feng felt inwardly helpless but responded to each person. This is even more troubleso than fighting a Spiritual Rotation Realm expert, he thought.
Yang Wanyi sat at the sa table as Luo Feng. Seeing his utterly helpless expression, she rested her fragrant cheek on her delicate hand, a faint smile playing in her beautiful eyes.
Just then, Steward Li approached them.
"Luo Feng, I never imagined that in just a few months, your strength would grow to such an extent! To think you could even slay an early-stage Spiritual Rotation Realm expert. It’s a pity I was injured today and couldn’t witness it myself," Steward Li said, his expression sowhat regretful.
When I first heard this news, I was incredibly shocked too, Steward Li thought. A ridian Wheel Realm Martial Artist slaying a Spiritual Rotation Realm expert! If word of this gets out, it will undoubtedly cause a huge sensation.
"It was just luck," Luo Feng said, half-truthfully.
Steward Li chuckled. "Luo Feng, don’t be so modest. I trust my Young Miss’s judgnt; she’s never wrong. When she first saw you in Panlong City, she recognized that you were extraordinary, truly out of the ordinary, and destined for great achievents."
Recalling what had happened in Panlong City, Luo Feng felt a little surprised and glanced at Yang Wanyi. Did this girl really think so highly of back then?
Yang Wanyi pursed her red lips, a smile gracing her pretty face. "I also didn’t expect you to reach your current level so quickly."
"Steward Li, do you know how the Young Miss t Luo Feng? Quick, tell us the story!"
The nearby City Lord Mansion guards all looked at Steward Li with keen interest.
"Luo Feng and the Young Miss are both right here. Why are you asking instead of them?" Steward Li said with a knowing smile, then glanced towards Luo Feng, his expression freezing a mont later.
Luo Feng’s seat was empty; there was no sign of him.
"Finally out." Luo Feng sighed, looking back at the bustling square. A bitter smile touched his lips. Sotis, fa isn’t such a good thing; it brings plenty of trouble too.
I wonder how Yang Wanyi is handling all that, he mused.
Shaking his head, Luo Feng dismissed the thought and strolled along a path within the City Lord Mansion.
The night was as tranquil as water, the moon bright and the stars sparse. Clear moonlight spilled down, bathing the nearby scenery in a layer of mystical color.
Luo Feng admired the night scenery for a while. Just as he was preparing to return to his courtyard to cultivate, he suddenly heard soft footsteps behind him.
"Luo Feng."
A sweet, lodious voice called out, and a tall young woman erged, walking under the moonlight. It was Yang Wanyi.
Luo Feng looked at Yang Wanyi and smiled. "The banquet isn’t over yet, is it? Why did you co out too?"
"You’re asking even though you already know the answer." Yang Wanyi stopped two steps in front of Luo Feng. Hearing his question, her slender Daii arched, and she let out a soft huff through her delicate nose. "And you just left there all alone."
"I was worried that if I stayed any longer, our... situation... would be exposed," Luo Feng replied with a slight smile. Then, as if rembering sothing, he looked at Yang Wanyi and said, "There’s sothing I’d like to discuss with you."
Seeing Luo Feng’s suddenly serious expression, Yang Wanyi was slightly taken aback. Her red lips parted slightly. "What is it?"
Luo Feng rubbed his nose. "About our marriage agreent... could you perhaps explain the truth to the City Lord?"
Hearing this, Yang Wanyi’s slender Daii furrowed slightly. A complex emotion flashed in her bright eyes as she sized up Luo Feng and huffed, "Are you that eager to sever all ties with ? Are you worried I’ll actually eat you up or sothing?"
Luo Feng smiled faintly and shook his head. "City Lord Yang wanted to arrange your marriage because he knew he was afflicted with the Blood Yin Poison and his life was hanging by a thread. Now that the Blood Yin Poison has been cured, even if you tell him the truth, he probably won’t make things difficult for you anymore."
Yang Wanyi’s beautiful eyes flickered. After a mont, she nodded, looking sowhat crestfallen. "I’ll find an opportunity to explain."
Luo Feng breathed a sigh of relief and nodded. "Then, I’ll take my leave first."
Today’s battle with the Spiritual Rotation Realm expert had brought Luo Feng many new insights. He worried that this flicker of understanding might vanish if he delayed, so after bidding farewell, he departed imdiately.
Explain? Then... what will beco of our relationship...?
Watching Luo Feng’s retreating figure, Yang Wanyi seed a bit lost in thought. She shook her head slightly and then lted into the darkness of the night.
The night was like still water, utterly silent.
Deep within the Dayang Mansion’s building complex lay an exquisite courtyard.
This courtyard adjoined a bamboo grove, with the man-made river flowing in front. Its elegant surroundings marked it as a place where Dayang Mansion received honored guests.
In the courtyard, Luo Feng sat cross-legged under a tree, the Rage Fla Knife resting horizontally across his knees, deep in ditation and cultivation.
The clear, elegant moonlight spilled onto Luo Feng, appearing to distort slightly around him, as if an invisible force enveloped his body, preventing anything from approaching.
At this mont, Luo Feng was replaying the scenes from his battle with the Spiritual Rotation Realm expert earlier that day over and over in his mind, carefully pondering every detail, not letting a single one escape him.
Beads of sweat dripped from his forehead, but Luo Feng remained completely oblivious, his eyes tightly shut. A sharp aura circulated around him, on the verge of erupting, like a prized sword resting in its sheath.
PHEW...
An unknown amount of ti passed before Luo Feng opened his eyes, a delighted surprise evident on his face.
This short period of comprehension had yielded him great rewards. Many aspects of Martial Arts that had previously puzzled him were now easily understood. His insights into the Shocking Thunder Saber Technique and the Eight Wildernesses Dominating Fla Fist had advanced more than ten days or even half a month of normal practice would have achieved.
"No wonder the Martial Arts seniors say that battling experts is the best form of Martial Arts training," Luo Feng mused.
Slowly exhaling a breath of turbid air, Luo Feng picked up his Rage Fla Knife and began to practice, wanting to test the current power of his Saber Technique.
