"Your progress is astonishing," Rowan said sincerely, admiration in his voice. "Your talent with telekinesis is exceptional. But the true test is still ahead. Next, I'll introduce a Law ability. Let's see if you can maintain precise telekinetic control while wielding the Gold Law."
anwhile, in Training Room Two, Thor and Hong had already been sparring for over an hour. This room was even larger than the first, designed in a circular layout. The walls were embedded with countless energy absorption devices to safely dissipate excess elental energy, preventing the sparring from spinning out of control. Suspended from the ceiling were massive energy-monitoring spheres, continuously tracking fluctuations in the room's elental energies.
Thor stood at one end of the room, his Thunder Blade held firmly in hand, a faint blue electric glow dancing across his body. Excitent glead in his eyes; he clearly relished this sparring session.
"Hong, let's not hold back," Thor grinned. "We've both survived the third round, so there's no need to play safe. Of course, let's keep it controlled."
Hong, standing at the opposite end with his Light Spear Twin Blades, nodded calmly in agreent. His deanor remained serene, as still as a calm lake.
Without another word, Thor launched the first attack. He took a sudden step forward, raising the Thunder Blade high above his head. "Thunder Slash!"
A blue arc of lightning shot from the blade's tip, coiling like a furious blue dragon, aid straight at Hong's chest. The strike was swift and potent, though clearly not at full power.
Hong didn't dodge. He raised his right hand and whispered, "Light Barrier."
A transparent shield composed of pure light materialized before him. The electric arc slamd into it, exploding into blinding blue-white sparks accompanied by a deafening crackle. The strike's energy was fully absorbed by the barrier, dispersing into countless tiny particles that faded into the air.
"Impressive for a Light Law technique," Thor comnted, nodding in approval. "Its resistance to energy attacks is incredible. But this is only a warm-up!"
He tightened his grip on the blade, and the electric glow intensified. "Thunder Domain, Third Level!"
With a roar of thunder that seed to shake the room, a five-ter-diater blue energy field enveloped Thor. Lightning currents crackled and surged, the air filled with a piercing electric hiss, and the tal components of the floor trembled under the electromagnetic force.
"Co, Hong! Let's see if your Light Law can withstand my Thunder Domain!" Thor challenged.
Hong maintained his almost indifferent calm, though a flicker of interest appeared in his eyes. Crossing his Light Spear Twin Blades in front of his chest, he spoke softly, "Light Rhythm, comnce."
In an instant, countless tiny points of light appeared in the air around him, flickering like a swarm of fireflies. They pulsed in a precise rhythm, forming an intricate lattice of light.
"Light Rhythm, Thousand Arrows Pierce the Heart!"
With a soft shout, all the light points shot toward Thor, transforming into innurable slender arrows of light. Each arrow seed fragile but carried finely tuned Light Law energy, piercing with astonishing precision.
Thor didn't panic. Instead, a grin spread across his face. He planted the Thunder Blade into the ground and ford hand seals. "Thunder Domain, Electromagnetic Barrier!"
The electric currents within the domain shifted, forming a rotating electromagnetic shield. The light arrows, upon hitting the barrier, bent along the magnetic field lines, most of them deflected toward the ceiling or the floor.
Still, a few arrows pierced the shield, striking Thor's shoulder and leg, leaving faint scorch marks.
"Not bad," Hong remarked, a rare note of approval in his voice. "The electromagnetic interference is quite ingenious."
Thor rubbed his shoulder and smiled, "There are still gaps, but it works. Clearly, our abilities each have their strengths."
After a brief pause, the two prepared for another round. This ti, Thor didn't rush to attack. Instead, he experinted with a new way of using his power.
"I've been thinking," Thor began as he adjusted the shape of his Thunder Domain, "what is the essence of lightning? Energy flow, particle movent, or more fundantally, a manifestation of natural phenona? Light works similarly, right?"
Hong raised an eyebrow, slightly surprised at Thor's philosophical turn.
"If we can understand the essence of the Laws we command," Thor continued, eyes glinting with uncommon focus, "we may discover entirely new applications."
Closing his eyes, Thor exhaled slowly, relaxing every muscle. The Thunder Domain shifted from its spherical form into a more complex lattice, with miniature energy vortices spinning at each node.
"Thunder Network, complete." Thor opened his eyes, blue lightning crackling with renewed intensity.
Hong observed carefully, admiration flickering in his gaze. Understanding Thor's intention, he began adjusting his Light Law technique. The light points no longer remained simple; they ford a lattice structure, each connected to surrounding points.
"Light Lattice, complete," Hong said softly.
Two seemingly different abilities now faced each other, subtly linked, creating a srizing and intricate spectacle in the training room. The energy monitors showed rising readings but remained within safe limits, demonstrating that both had achieved exceptional control over their powers.
"Shall we test it?" Thor asked.
Hong nodded. Both unleashed their abilities simultaneously.
The Thunder Network expanded, enveloping Hong, each node releasing strong electromagnetic pulses. The Light Lattice transford into countless beams, piercing through the network's gaps toward Thor.
Rather than clashing violently, the two energies intertwined, complenting each other. The electromagnetic pulses altered the path of the light beams, while the beams amplified their own power through the electric field.
Thor's eyes widened. "Our abilities can actually complent each other?"
Hong, equally surprised, then smiled in understanding. "Light and electricity share the sa essence."
Both realized the significance of their discovery. Properly harnessing this complentarity in combat could dramatically increase their effectiveness.
Over the next two hours, they explored these possibilities, experinting with different combinations and release techniques, gradually developing practical strategies.
By the end of the session, both had mastered several new applications of their powers. Thor learned how to use light to guide and enhance the precision and penetration of his lightning attacks. Hong discovered how to accelerate light particles using electromagnetic fields, increasing the power of his strikes.
"This sparring was incredibly productive," Thor said, satisfied, sheathing the Thunder Blade. "Thank you, Hong. Without your cooperation, I never would have realized these new applications for lightning."
Hong nodded, a rare smile gracing his lips. "Mutual benefit."
By noon, the four gathered in the lounge to share their experiences.
Rowan excitedly recounted his progress with telekinesis. "The 'Telekinetic Core' technique you taught is amazing! I can control four targets simultaneously, and maintain stable telekinesis even while using the Gold Law!"
Rowan smiled gently. "Your progress is fast indeed. But the real test cos in combat. This afternoon, we'll do so simulated battles to help you internalize these techniques fully."
Thor and Hong also shared their insights, explaining in detail the complentary potential between light and electricity.
"This is an important discovery," Rowan acknowledged seriously. "Understanding the essence of your own Law and finding connections with others is a crucial step toward mastering advanced Laws."
"Are we continuing sparring this afternoon?" Rowan asked, excitent shining in his eyes.
Rowan considered for a mont. "We'll switch partners. Thor and Rowan together, while I pair with Hong. This will allow us to explore different ability combinations and broaden our combat strategies."
"Perfect!" Thor patted Rowan's shoulder, grinning. "This afternoon, I'll show you how to sharpen your Black-Pattern Blade under the forging of thunder!"
Rowan laughed. "And I can't wait to experience your Ninth-Level Thunder Domain. But rember, keep it controlled!"
Even Hong cracked a faint smile, rare as it was, and the group laughed together.
After lunch, the new pairings went to their respective training rooms. Rowan and Thor entered Training Room One to begin sparring.
Thor, standing in the center, held the Thunder Blade as faint blue electricity danced across his body. "I heard you've only recently begun learning the Gold Law, Rowan, but your potential is great. Today, I'll help you unlock so of that potential."
Rowan gripped his Black-Pattern Blade tightly, taking a deep breath. "I'm ready."
Thor didn't imdiately deploy the Thunder Domain. Instead, he started with basic close-combat maneuvers. His style was powerful and aggressive, each strike carrying the montum of a thunderclap, forcing Rowan to retreat step by step.
As the sparring progressed, Rowan adapted to Thor's rhythm, beginning to integrate his Gold Law abilities. Each clash of the blades saw him channel a thread of Gold Law energy, sharpening and hardening the Black-Pattern Blade.
"Good application," Thor praised. "But the Gold Law has more to offer. Try manipulating the malleability of tal."
Under Thor's guidance, Rowan experinted with a revolutionary approach: making the Black-Pattern Blade flow like liquid, reshaping its form to change angles and attack range. This advanced technique of the Gold Law demanded extraordinary precision.
Initially, only the tip of the blade bent slightly. With continuous practice, Rowan gradually mastered the technique. By the end of training, he could freely reshape the blade within a certain range, greatly enhancing its versatility.
anwhile, in Training Room Two, Rowan and Hong's sparring reached deep levels of refinent. Both were approaching mastery of their respective Laws, emphasizing subtlety and innovation in their techniques.
Rowan's Fire Law and Hong's Light Law were both energy-based, yet with different focus. Fire Law prioritized destructive power, while Light Law emphasized precision and penetration.
"I've been pondering sothing," Rowan said while crossing blades with Hong. "Fire and light are both forms of energy. Could they complent each other, much like light and electricity?"
Hong nodded subtly, acknowledging the idea.
Hours passed, the lights dimd slightly, and the energy absorbers along the walls glowed faintly blue, adding a mystical ambiance. The central area was cleared, giving Hong and Thor ample space to maneuver. Energy monitors were set to maximum sensitivity, ready to record and analyze every fluctuation.
Hong stood on the east side in a simple white battle robe, silver embroidery glinting under the lights. His expression remained calm, eyes deep and clear as twin pools that could see everything. He held his Light Spear Twin Blades harmoniously, as if they were a natural extension of himself.
"Previously, we found light and electricity complent each other," Hong said quietly. "Today, let's explore further."
Thor stood opposite, clad in a sleeveless black combat suit, his muscular arms subtly veined, a blue belt with lightning embroidery around his waist. A confident smile played on his face, yet his gaze was focused, serious. The Thunder Blade rested across his back, a subtle glow emanating from the crystal in its hilt.
"Exactly," Thor responded eagerly, cracking his knuckles. "I've thought a lot about this. The connection between light and electricity may be deeper than we imagined. Electromagnetic waves include light components, and lightning energy can transform into light. The two energies are fundantally connected."
Hong nodded slightly, a hint of respect flickering in his eyes at Thor's theoretical insight.
"First, warm-up," Hong said, gripping his spears lightly. Golden light blades extended roughly a ter from each tip, appearing soft yet razor-sharp. "Basic engagent."
"All right!" Thor shouted, grasping the Thunder Blade as a faint blue glow flickered along its edge. "Let's start with a conventional sparring round, get a feel for it!"
