Bang!
For a ti, the sound of flesh-and-bone impacts rang out nonstop.
Every ti Hulk threw a punch, Fenris blocked it easily, and what t him in return was the warm greeting of Fenris's claws, coming down like a storm.
"Hulk!"
"Calling for Banner won't help. Get up."
"Hulk..."
The furious roars sank from rage into sothing low and weak. Before long, after being hurled away once again, Hulk lay flat in a shallow crater, gasping heavily, and for the first ti did not get back up right away.
The monster in front of him simply made no sense at all. From top to bottom, it could crush him with ease in every category. Even the strength and durability he had always been most proud of ant absolutely nothing before it.
Thump.
Heavy footsteps sounded from the edge of the pit. The mont Hulk sensed that familiar presence approaching, his body instinctively shrank back as if from a reflex.
At this point, Hulk's body had actually swollen again in his fury, yet he still only barely ca up past Fenris's belly, roughly to chest level at most.
That height would already have been terrifying in a city. Compared to his original form, he had nearly tripled in size.
But in front of Fenris, he was still no more than a half-grown kid, handled from start to finish with absurd ease.
By now, after taking who knew how many blows, the anger inside Hulk's head had long since vanished without a trace. The redness in his eyes had faded too, leaving them unexpectedly clear.
"Where's Banner?"
"Banner and I are friends. Bring Banner out."
Looking at Hulk sprawled on the ground, curling up instinctively, Fenris walked over and lightly nudged him in the rear with one foot.
As his anger faded, Hulk's body shrank smaller and smaller until he was soon only a little over three ters tall.
"No Banner!"
Looking at Fenris's massive body, which almost completely blocked his view, Hulk twisted his mouth and spat out a tooth that had been knocked loose.
He jumped to his feet with a thump, looked at the difference in size between himself and Fenris, and realized he did not even co up to Fenris's thigh. Instantly flushing with humiliation and anger, he shouted again, "No Banner!"
"Oh?"
Looking down at the baby-sized Hulk, Fenris bent over and was just about to deliver another round of loving education when Hulk suddenly jumped backward a few steps. Then, without any warning at all, he spun around and leaped straight off the high seaside cliff.
Splash!
Fenris watched as Hulk dove headfirst into the sea. The churning water quickly swallowed every trace of his existence.
But in Fenris's perception, a powerful life signal was still racing away through the ocean.
As if afraid Fenris might chase after him again, the signal kept diving deeper and deeper into the sea, moving at astonishing speed.
"Last ti he woke up on top of my car. If he wakes up and finds himself in the deep ocean this ti, I wonder if Banner's going to have a breakdown."
At the thought, Fenris could not help shaking his head with a trace of pity.
Banner really had it rough, being saddled with a completely uncontrollable second personality like Hulk.
His career was ruined, for one thing. Then he had a gorgeous girlfriend right there beside him, but could not even manage the simplest intimacy. And on top of that, he was constantly being hunted by his heavily ard future father-in-law.
A beautiful life, completely overturned in a single night.
"I beat the disobedient little lunatic up for you. Hopefully that makes your life a little easier."
"Though let's hope I didn't hit the kid stupid in one go."
"He's only a few years old, after all..."
Sensing Hulk's life signal getting farther and farther away, Fenris shrugged and withdrew his attention.
Completely unlike the nearly one-sided fight on Fenris's side, the battle over where Tony was looked much more intense.
Iron Monger had lost almost all of its mobility, but its huge size still remained. The amount of ammunition the armor could carry was far beyond anything Tony could match.
And Tony, wearing the Mark III, had no imdiate way to crack that hard shell of a suit. He could only rely on speed and agility, constantly circling Iron Monger in a mobile hit-and-run fight.
For a ti, dense swarms of missiles tore through the air nonstop, raining down on each other like a storm. The deafening rumble of explosions never ceased.
Reduced to a target, Iron Monger was not having a pleasant ti either. It could only stand in place and keep pouring out firepower.
"Warning. Low power."
"Power remaining: 10 percent."
"Warning!"
After all, Iron Monger was only equipped with the first-generation arc reactor Tony had cobbled together in a cave. Keeping that heavy armor running in sustained combat for this long was already the absolute limit.
"Fuck!"
"I don't believe I can't blow you to hell!"
The shrill warnings in his ears turned Obadiah's face bright red in an instant. Without hesitation, he activated every remaining weapon he had left.
Whoosh!
Countless micro-missiles launched almost simultaneously, while Tony hurried to dodge them in the sky. The two traded blows back and forth, and though neither looked especially polished, the fight did at least have a certain thrilling intensity.
"What a satisfyingly ugly rookie slap fight."
In the distance, Fenris had already returned to his original form. He raised a hand, and the battle-axe embedded in the ground floated up into the air and flew happily back into his grasp.
Watching Tony's slight advantage instantly collapse into a losing position, with defeat almost about to follow, Fenris thought for a mont, then abruptly swung the battle-axe in his right hand.
Bzzzt...
Unlike the wild roaring sound it made after absorbing atomic breath, the axe now emitted a hum almost identical to Cyclops's optic blasts.
The next second, a thick crimson axe-light drifted lightly from the blade.
Because Fenris deliberately wanted to test the power, almost all of the energy Cyclops had stored in the axe was drained in this single strike.
The dazzling red arc of light crossed nearly a thousand ters of space in silence, carrying trendous impact and the absolute sharpness granted by the axe's edge.
For a mont, beneath the gloomy sky, heaven and earth themselves seed stained red.
Until...
The crimson axe-light passed through Iron Monger's thick right leg without the slightest delay, and the remaining force buried itself entirely into the ground.
The once-still earth stayed calm for a brief mont. Then, after a heartbeat, the stable internal structure of the giant rocky mountain was suddenly destroyed.
The whole mountain began trembling faintly at once.
Rumble!
A world-shaking roar erupted beneath their feet without warning. In the next instant, this mountain mass, which had endured countless ages of assault from the sea without ever collapsing, let out one final groan and suddenly caved in.
A coastline stretching for kiloters vanished in that mont. Endless boulders tumbled from the mountaintop, crashing into the water below and kicking up towering waves dozens of ters high.
