Inside the Blackbird.
Professor X's body was trembling more and more violently. Even his wheelchair had begun to creak softly.
But as ti passed, his body gradually steadied, and his expression eased.
"It's almost over."
Fenris understood at once.
The mont Professor X broke through the White Queen's psychic defenses, he would be able to seize control of the battlefield in an instant. Other than Magneto, with his helt, and the White Queen, with her diamond form, no one on Magneto's side could stop him.
Chaotic noise drifted in from outside. At that mont, fierce winds howled around the Statue of Liberty, thunder crashed, and from ti to ti a thick crimson beam punched straight through the statue.
To ordinary people who had no idea what was really happening, the scene was terrifying beyond words.
With all that turmoil unfolding, the eting about to be held on nearby Ellis Island was thrown into chaos as well. The entire venue had descended into confusion.
"There's a reason ordinary people fear and reject mutants."
"The destruction these top-tier superhumans can cause is beyond anything normal people can imagine."
Fenris could not help sighing.
Bang!
Just then, an almost imperceptible sound suddenly rang out inside the Blackbird.
"Azazel!"
The instant a flash of red entered the corner of Fenris's vision, he imdiately realized what was happening.
Azazel's speed needed no explanation. In the blink of an eye, his hand had already landed on Professor X's shoulder.
"Not happening!"
As the two of them were about to dissolve into red smoke, the muscles in Fenris's legs swelled explosively, tearing apart the armored suit around them on the spot.
A horrifying burst of strength erupted in an instant. Fenris's body flashed forward, and in the next mont he slamd straight into the smoke.
All three n, along with the wheelchair, vanished from the aircraft.
When they reappeared, Fenris found himself on top of the Statue of Liberty.
Not far away, Scott and Jean Grey were sohow being held back by a single Toad.
Toad moved with incredible agility, and he was keeping a careful distance from Jean. Scott's optic blasts had a hard ti hitting him, and every ti one of them tried to peel off to help Storm, he skillfully cut them off.
For a ti, the two of them simply could not do a thing to him.
Elsewhere, inside a raging cyclone, Ororo was desperately fighting a man in a suit for control of the storm. Thunder roared around the outer edges, and the force of the wind was so imnse that even the Statue of Liberty had begun to sway faintly.
At this point, Storm's mastery over her powers was still sowhat underdeveloped. Faced with a veteran mutant like Riptide, who had been honing his abilities for decades, the two of them had fallen into a deadlock, neither able to gain the upper hand.
"Let go!"
Azazel had never expected anyone to react during the tiny opening between his chained teleports, much less force their way along with him.
To avoid risking Magneto's machine being damaged, he had not dared teleport directly to the torch.
Now, Fenris and Azazel stood on opposite sides of Professor X, each staring at the other with wary eyes.
"Fenris?"
Fenris heard the Professor call his na softly, clearly sensing that sothing had changed around him.
"It's fine, Professor."
Fenris answered with complete certainty.
Hearing that, the Professor finally let go of all concern and ignored everything happening outside.
"Confidence is a good thing, but don't get carried away."
Fenris saw Azazel's mouth twist into a crooked grin as his body dissolved into smoke again.
But this ti, he did not try to take Professor X with him.
Bang!
Fenris raised a hand and casually blocked the punch Azazel threw from behind him.
Sensing trouble, Azazel vanished again.
Crimson smoke began flashing constantly around Fenris and Professor X. Azazel's blinking grew faster and faster, and every ti he appeared, it was accompanied by a vicious attack.
Heavy punches and kicks. Even that sharp, sinister tail stinger.
But no matter how fast Azazel moved, Fenris blocked every single strike with perfect precision.
Professor X sat quietly in his wheelchair as the sounds of bodies colliding rang out beside him again and again, yet he remained unmoving the entire ti.
Fenris's body had almost beco an afterimage itself. When the berserk strength of a Titan was concentrated inside a human body, the burst of speed it could produce was beyond imagination.
Fenris was like an impenetrable wall, intercepting the storm of attacks without letting a single one through.
Bang!
After another strike was blocked by Fenris, Azazel reappeared once more, this ti already ten feet away. He was breathing lightly now, and when he looked at Fenris, it was as if he were looking at so kind of monster.
He had lived for over a thousand years, yet he had never encountered a freak like Fenris.
"To think Charles could teach a student as extraordinary as you."
Azazel muttered the words under his breath, the muscles all over his body twitching faintly.
In the earlier exchanges, he had teleported away before Fenris's strength could fully detonate each ti, shedding most of the impact in the process. But even though he had only been taking a fraction of the force every ti, after enough clashes, it was already starting to add up.
Fenris said nothing. His gaze kept sweeping across the battlefield.
Logan was nowhere to be seen, and everyone else was tied down. If this went on any longer, Magneto's plan might actually succeed.
"Toad, keep this brat busy for a while."
Azazel was also trying to figure out how to break the stalemate. When he noticed that Toad was actually able to maneuver between Cyclops and Jean with ease, he suddenly turned and shouted across the battlefield.
Neither Azazel nor Fenris could do anything to the other, but if Toad could tie Fenris down for even a short while, Azazel would be able to wipe out the remaining three X-n with ease.
"No problem. Leave it to !"
Toad froze for a mont in the distance, then instantly understood Azazel's plan.
In the next mont, Azazel rushed straight at Professor X without any warning.
Fenris moved to intercept him, but Azazel suddenly flashed sideways. His tail lashed out and directly dragged Fenris over to a spot near Toad.
The sudden change instantly threw the battlefield into chaos.
Scott and Jean's attacks both stalled for a mont.
"Go protect the Professor, now!"
Fenris reacted instantly and roared at them over his shoulder.
"I'm your opponent!"
Toad sprang up violently and lunged straight at Fenris.
"ROAR!"
The mont Fenris saw that Jean had already used telekinesis to protect the Professor, he no longer had anything holding him back. He let out a thunderous roar.
His body began swelling rapidly. In the blink of an eye, the humanoid Godzilla, already taller than before, appeared once again.
Faced with the incoming Toad, Fenris did not even turn his head. His thick, powerful tail, nearly nine feet long, whipped around with a shriek through the air and smashed toward him.
Tail whip.
Godzilla's strongest close-range move. Its power was so overwhelming it could kill a hundred-ter Titan in a single strike.
Boom!
The instant the tail whip connected, Toad felt an irresistible force flood through his body. The expression on his face froze completely.
That single hit instantly sent his body out of control, smashing through the glass and flying out into the open.
"What?!"
Just a second earlier Azazel had teleported to Ororo's side, ready to break the deadlock between her and Riptide.
Then in the very next instant, Toad scread as he was launched from the statue at high altitude.
"That useless idiot!"
"He couldn't even take one hit!"
Azazel was furious. His gaze flicked between the completely defenseless Ororo and the shattered window for only a brief mont, and in the end he chose to go save Toad.
After dealing with Toad, Fenris did not stop for even a mont. Bracing himself against the savage wind, he charged straight into the cyclone without hesitation.
Boom!
The cyclone dispersed. Fenris casually flung the unconscious Riptide onto the ground.
"That's it?"
