Odin was rely the current user of this power. To be precise, this divine force originated from their ancestral gods and was rooted deep within their bloodline. Only the royal family could continuously tap into it, strengthen it, and eventually grow into Skyfather-level powerhouses like Odin and Hela.
Ordinary Asgardians naturally didn't possess such overwhelming strength. They could only rely on trace amounts of this bloodline to achieve physical capabilities one or two tis greater than an average Earthling.
Essentially, while they shared the sa origin, the bloodline had diluted significantly over the generations.
Because of this, Asgardian magic was fundantally based on their own divine power. Without that specific internal energy, the spells were useless.
Conversely, learning magic from other systems wasn't very effective for them either. The potential ceiling was low, far inferior to simply digging deeper into their own bloodline. That was why Asgardians weren't keen on learning foreign magic. The spellbooks they collected during their conquests mostly sat on shelves gathering dust.
They said the library was open to the public, but how many ordinary citizens actually ca here to read?
The only ones who truly mastered other forms of magic were people like Queen Frigga, who was raised by witches and learned their arts. But look at her student, Loki. It clearly didn't work out well for him.
Why was Loki's combat ceiling so much lower than Thor's? Because he was a Frost Giant by blood, yet he learned Asgardian-style magic. It was a mismatch.
If he had the chance to learn the ancestral magic of the Frost Giants, his potential would likely have been much higher.
Unfortunately, he never got that chance.
Lucas browsed through other magical systems. Most were similar to the Asgardian model—Fire Giant magic, Frost Giant magic, etc. They all relied on excavating power from one's own bloodline to grow stronger.
Basically, they knew how to use it but not why it worked. And few were willing to research the underlying theory. Your power cap was determined by your blood purity. Lucas learned so of it, but without the corresponding bloodline, it was aningless for him.
In the end, Lucas concluded that Kamar-Taj magic was the best fit. Not only because it stemd from the Vishanti (Gods of White Magic), but because it was knowledge-based. The deeper your understanding of the universe, the richer your knowledge, the stronger you beca.
This was perfect for Lucas.
Asgard possessed quite a few Kamar-Taj tos, including so purely theoretical works that analyzed the multiverse from a magical perspective.
For an outsider like Lucas, this was a massive harvest.
He happily buried himself in the books.
anwhile, in the Royal Chambers.
Thor entered his parents' bedroom. Odin was comforting Frigga, who was still grieving the loss of her second son.
"Thor, you ca at the right ti," Odin said, stepping forward.
"Father. Mother." Thor walked up to them, his gaze softening on Frigga.
Frigga wiped her tears, trying to stay strong for her son. Regaining her eldest was a joy, but losing her youngest was a pain that wouldn't fade easily.
"Thor, do you understand this friend of yours?" Odin asked.
"I think so," Thor replied.
"I sensed an energy in him similar to a sun," Odin said gravely. "Using my divine perception, he feels like a living star. He is constantly radiating powerful energy. If you hadn't told he was a mortal, I would have assud he was a Sun God from another pantheon."
Just as Lucas had quietly probed Odin, Odin had probed Lucas. And what he felt was a massive, terrifying power source akin to the sun itself.
"That's exactly what I wanted to discuss," Thor nodded. "Although he claims to be an ordinary human, I suspect he obtained the power or divinity of a Sun God. My senses align with yours, Father."
This was where Thor's thinking diverged completely from Tony Stark's.
Tony saw Lucas sunbathing and getting stronger, and thought: Mutation. biological enhancent. Science.
Thor, born in a god-civilization, saw the sa thing and thought: Divinity. Godhood. Authority.
He suspected Lucas had acquired a Godhead. Specifically, a Sun Godhead, or at least authorities related to light, fire, or solar energy.
He just didn't know which god it belonged to or where Lucas got it.
Compared to Tony and Fury's scientific analysis, Thor felt his theological analysis was closer to the truth.
"So what is the situation? You suddenly brought back such a powerful entity. The divine energy in his body might even surpass yours right now," Odin said.
He needed to know Lucas's origin.
"That is why I ca to see you both," Thor said seriously. "He might not be from our universe. He is likely from the Multiverse."
"The Multiverse?" Odin narrowed his eyes. As the All-Father, he knew of the Multiverse's existence. He had fought off interdinsional demons many tis. His alliance with the Ancient One was partly based on their shared duty to repel these threats.
"Yes. To be precise, he is from the universe outside the Fourth Wall," Thor explained.
Realizing it was hard to verbalize, Thor simply summoned the Diary and handed it to his parents.
"Read this. You'll understand what I an."
Odin and Frigga took the diary with so confusion. As they began to read, their expressions shifted from curiosity to shock, and finally to disbelief.
