Seeing they young woman's still form, her teammates had already co over to check on her but she was lost in her own world as her incredulous gaze was fixed on the 'corpse' beside her.
" Raven…. It's not your fault…" A young man who seed to be the leader thought Raven was impacted by the death, as he tried to console her because deaths were a constant in their line of work and they couldn't save everyone.

Adrian's eyelids fluttered as his eye opened gently as his vision was a bit blurry and it took him a few monts to understand he was laying on soone's lap.
"N-Nana?!" Adrian gasped out as he gazed at the woman who was like a mother to him , a person whose death still haunted him , a death he was unable to move on from.
Suddenly his mother's image rippled and it vanished and in its place a pale skinned young woman with a goth vibe and a kind expression appeared.
"You can see ? " She asked in a soothing and gentle manner as she gazed at Adrian with curiosity.
Normally when she guides Mortals they view her as soone close to them making the passage comforting and easier as she guides them. ( AU )
Adrian felt a bit unnerved under her gaze as he felt like she could see through everything which wasn't wrong.
He got up from her lap as he sat up but didn't move away from her since this woman had a comforting warmth around her that made him want to stay.
"Yeah… am I not supposed to ? " Adrian asked as the young woman just shook her head with a gentle smile.
"No , I was just a bit surprised… You are a person filled with surprises Adrian.." Adrian wasn't too surprised when she said his na.
" Who are you ? " Adrian couldn't contain his curiosity as he wondered who this woman was.
The woman in question smiled at his question as she tilted her head slightly and flashed him a smile that could lt anyone's soul.
"I am Death.."

"What did you an by I'm marked for death ,Didi ? " Adrian asked in confusion as he controlled his character on the screen to beat up Didi's character.

"How many near death situations have you faced recently? It's not rely a coincidence… your soul was branded by Death… It must be the entity who governs over death in your world.." Did said nonchalantly as she focused on counterattacking as her revelation had created an opening.
" You don't need to worry tho , I removed that mark and placed my protection in return" Didi reassured Adrian since it was an easy thing for her to do.
She placed her own mark on him to prevent that entity from snatching Adrian's soul through any underhanded ans not that she believed they could.
Didi found Adrian very fascinating and interesting since it was the first ti a mortal ca to her domain without dying. Not to ntion she was unable to peer into his future. It was like Adrian Frost was an enigma, and this was very interesting to a being of her scale.
And his inherent ability was interesting too, albeit it was weak before… But not now.
She also found his impudence interesting since he didn't feel afraid or cautious in her presence even while knowing what kind of Entity she was.
'So I'm still marked by death …. But it should be fine since it's a sweet Goth chick… never imagined the literal personification of death to be a hot goth chick..' Adrian mused inside his mind as he gazed at Didi who had a cute frown on her face as she tried to outmaneuver him.
Although he acted laid back , Adrian was depressed… but he just did what he always did , bury the feelings without addressing them since it was easier.
He felt nauseous whenever he rembered Silk or the pregnant lady's smile.
Adrian shoved all of those negative thoughts to the back of his mind as he just waited for himself to wake up in the real world.
Since Didi marked him, he could talk with her whenever he wanted… It felt like he had a connection to a big shot .. which wasn't wrong.
Adrian didn't understand what Didi ant when she said he wouldn't be needing her protection when he joked with her about becoming his sugar mommy.
She said he would find out when he woke up… Adrian was curious… but he didn't think his life could get anymore fucked than this.
Didi also joked about the entity in his soul…Adrian at first thought it was about the system… but sothing about her words made him think it was sothing else…

Inside Adrian's mindscape unknown to him a dark haired girl was tirelessly working to keep things in order.
She had visible exhaustion and annoyance showcasing how overworked she was.
"I should have just stayed in Dad's castle! Damn it!" The young woman cursed while crocodile tears flowed down her eyes.
She had never done anything to warrant this Injustice… well she did join as an announcer in that multiversal war in another universe and may or may not have made so people mad with her words.
But all she did was honest encouragent!
