After getting nearly killed…one thing changed in him… he stopped caring whether criminals got hurt too bad.
While law abiding citizens die or get mortally wounded , criminals who get taken in are kept secure and well fed , other than the bottom feeders, the ones with money and connections live luxuriously even inside prisons.
Certain people only know the language of violence… so speaking that language is the only way to get through to them.
