While the two brothers were engaged in their psychological warfare over here, Matthew and Professor X continued to haggle over terms.
anwhile, Magneto was currently highly irritable—exceptionally irritable. This was because he could finally confirm that he was inside a very peculiar world.
It seemingly resembled the real world; there was wind, water, iron elents, and the architecture was even an exact replica of San Juan within the real world.
Yet, this place was distinctly not the real world.
First of all, through his magnetic-field perception, he had scanned the entire underground area during the battle.
The underground city that should have existed was gone.
Such a massive underground city had beco normal soil and rock layers.
Most importantly, Magneto could sense that in all of San Juan, aside from himself and the people surrounding and attacking him, there was not a single living person.
The entire city was completely empty. There were only buildings and vehicles, and even the cruise ships drifting on the sea outside the city had no people aboard.
He and these soldiers seed to have been exiled into another world entirely different from reality—a gigantic version of an octagonal cage.
Magneto could not figure it out. He simply could not comprehend who possessed such a terrifying power or ability to throw him silently into this kind of world.
This completely exceeded his understanding.
Moreover, Reacher and more than twenty other Astartes, along with the Raven Warband soldiers, were attacking Magneto like madn, launching frenzied assaults.
And the various abilities they displayed refreshed Magneto's understanding again and again.
What normal person could raise a leg and kick out a slash dozens of ters wide out of thin air, one so sharp it could even cut through the tal shield Magneto had created?
One had to know that Magneto's magnetic control over tal allowed him to perform extrely precise manipulation.
He could fuse the molecular structures of the original iron elents and reshape them into tal whose quality and hardness far surpassed ordinary tal.
If these tals were thrown out, each one would be more valuable than the last.
If he could produce the shaping formula as well, he could completely build a tal-material empire.
Yet even so, that tal could still be cut open by those slashes.
At the sa ti, there were people who could pierce through his tal with a single finger, forcibly gouging out a hole. They could also step through the air as if it were solid ground, possessing the ability to turn flexibly and fight in the sky with high mobility.
Each of them moved back and forth like ghosts, at speeds beyond what the naked eye could follow.
They also had extraordinary flexibility. The tal spears he fired, one after another, could be precisely dodged with the smallest movents, their bodies so flexible they fluttered like sheets of paper.
Just imagine seeing a burly warrior nearly 1.95 ters tall suddenly flatten into sothing like a piece of paper. Who would not find that horrifying?
If these abilities were gathered in a single person, it would already be terrifying.
Yet the result was that every single person here could use them all.
The outco was that Magneto felt miserable under their attacks. He could not hit them, while their strength, speed, and explosive power were all astonishing.
Magneto's own physical strength was already very high.
He could use magnetism to strengthen his own body, increasing his power and endurance beyond the limits of humanity, and he could also shorten his reaction ti to one-fifteenth of that of an ordinary human.
That was already extrely abnormal.
Even so, he still could not withstand a casual punch from these soldiers. He simply could not react in ti, nor could he dodge.
Fortunately, he had laid an energy magnetic field around his body to protect himself.
However, he was still only a stationary cannon turret, so it was useless.
Magneto had extrely rich combat experience. He had tried many thods, attempting to control the iron objects these people carried on them, but it had no effect.
There was so inexplicable power on their bodies interfering with his magnetism.
He had even been ruthless enough to target the iron in their blood.
The human body naturally contained trace amounts of iron. An adult carried roughly three to five grams in total. The liver, spleen, and bone marrow stored the excess, while countless enzys and tabolic processes depended on it to function.
Once Magneto extracted that iron, anyone would die very quickly.
The process would be extrely fast.
In an instant, the blood throughout the body would lose its ability to carry oxygen. The brain and heart would be deprived of oxygen at once, leading to loss of consciousness and brain death within seconds.
It was an extrely cruel ability.
To ordinary people, it was utterly lethal.
But it had no effect on the soldiers of the two warbands. First of all, their physical strength was extraordinarily high, so high that their muscle and bone density, cellular oxygen content, cell strength, and more all far surpassed those of normal people.
More importantly, the soldiers had far too much control over their own bodies.
Even if Magneto could sense the iron elents inside them and wanted to draw them out, the first problem was that he could not move them.
If he focused all his power and locked onto a single person, it might be possible.
But Magneto would have to concentrate and spend so ti extracting it.
And the soldiers were not wooden dolls. Would they really stay in one place without moving?
Setting aside Shave (Soru), that high-speed movent technique, even if they relied purely on the explosive power and speed of their bodies, Magneto could not easily pin them down with his ability.
Secondly, the windbreakers the soldiers wore were not just there to look cool.
Their trousers, shoes, and gloves were all inscribed with defensive magical runes.
These runes ca from Kamar-Taj.
Used on magical barriers, weapons, and equipnt, they were the result of countless years of accumulated knowledge. The sorcerers of Kamar-Taj had long since developed countless ways to use these magical runes.
There was also a group of sorcerer-artisans dedicated specifically to forging and researching this kind of equipnt.
According to the future tiline, the sorcerers used these runes to create large batches of mass-produced magical cannons, bows and arrows, Staffs of the Living Tribunal, and more.
Matthew, being a conscientious boss, had put great effort into the two warbands. He had specifically learned this knowledge.
Of course, the equipnt on the soldiers was not made by him personally. He had shalessly gone to those sorcerer-artisans and asked them to do it.
As for why those sorcerers agreed?
Who was currently Matthew's top supporter?
The Sorcerer Supre of Kamar-Taj, the leader of all sorcerers. What else was there to say? They had to work overti and make it.
Many of the materials used were special magical materials.
So even ca from materials scavenged from the corpses of other-dinsional lifeforms they had killed before.
With all these things added together, the overall enhancent to defense, power, killing force, and so on was comprehensive.
Magneto's ability was indeed outrageous, but breaking through the magical runes on their equipnt was not sothing that could be done so easily.
Against a single soldier, it might be possible.
Against a group of them, the possibility was not high.
The mont Magneto locked onto one of them and prepared to kill that person, the slightest lapse in attention would have a dozen or twenty soldiers pouncing from behind to hamr him.
So Magneto could only use the simplest and most direct form of his ability to deal with the encirclent.
As a result, Magneto felt extrely frustrated and furious.
At the sa ti, he was filled with regret.
Magneto regretted it very much. He should never have co to San Juan, and he should never have gone looking for that newly awakened "mutant" with great potential.
He also regretted targeting those soldiers.
Now look what had happened. He had provoked serious trouble. Mystique and Sabretooth's survival was unknown, he himself did not even know where he had been thrown, and he was being beaten in an incredibly frustrating way.
