Kaecilius suddenly looked up toward the entrance of the library.

Although no one was there, he knew very well that soone was attempting to force their way inside.

Whoever it was, it ant his ambush had already been discovered.

"Withdraw."

Kaecilius didn't waste words. With a low shout, the other sorcerers imdiately opened portals and left without hesitation.

Kaecilius did the sa. Just as he was about to step through, he paused.

Because he saw soone.

Dressed completely differently from those of Kamar-Taj—a simple white shirt, light-colored casual trousers, and Chelsea boots.

"Matthew."

Upon seeing him, Kaecilius actually gave up on leaving imdiately.

"You forced your way through the barrier I set up. No wonder you were chosen by her."

Kaecilius's attitude toward Matthew was cold. He felt no jealousy over Matthew being favored by Ancient One, or even being considered a candidate for the next Sorcerer Supre. On the contrary, he didn't care about that title at all.

From the beginning, his purpose in learning magic had only ever been one thing—eternal life.

There was no sense of duty, no moral code. He had joined Kamar-Taj and resisted external threats solely to better learn magic and grow stronger.

Whether Matthew was favored or not, whether he would beco the next Sorcerer Supre—Kaecilius simply didn't care.

At least, that was how he felt now.

In the past, he knew the Sorcerer Supre was the strongest among all sorcerers, and he believed that becoming the strongest might grant him eternal life.

But now he understood certain truths. He knew the Sorcerer Supre could not grant him eternity.

That was why he had beco so indifferent.

"Wong, that's quite a unique look you've got."

Matthew couldn't be bothered with Kaecilius's twisted mindset. Instead, he casually teased Wong, who was still frozen in place.

"Matthew, Kaecilius has betrayed the light and sided with darkness. He tore out the forbidden page from the Book of Cagliostro. We cannot let him leave Kamar-Taj!"

Wong ignored the teasing and shouted anxiously.

He knew exactly how serious the situation was—Kaecilius had to be stopped.

Matthew raised an eyebrow and looked at the gloomy, world-weary middle-aged sorcerer before him.

"Light? Darkness? Heh…" Kaecilius let out a cold laugh and sneered, "Wong, your ignorance has turned you into a servant of lies—a sacrifice for that woman. We're all the sa."

Before he could continue his speech, Matthew cut him off.

What followed was a terrifying surge of spatial ripples that spread in all directions.

"Enough nonsense."

Crack!!

The surrounding space shattered like a mirror—collapsing, compressing, folding in on itself.

The chaos, the distortion, the spinning disorientation ca without warning. Right before Wong's eyes, Kaecilius vanished, dragged into the Mirror Dinsion created by Matthew.

Wong stood frozen in place for a mont.

Then he couldn't help but feel a bit impressed by Matthew's impatience.

Not even letting the other side finish speaking—it was a good habit.

He imdiately began casting a spell, trying to break free from the magic binding him as quickly as possible.

...

Inside the Mirror Dinsion, the surroundings still resembled the library—bookshelves, tables, everything—

But they were nothing more than replicated projections.

It was completely severed from the real Kamar-Taj library.

"A pitiful fool who's been deceived."

Kaecilius glanced around, surprised that Matthew's mastery of magic had already reached such a level.

Mirror Dinsion magic was sothing ordinary apprentices simply couldn't learn.

Even if they managed to grasp the basics, they wouldn't have this level of proficiency. The ability to instantly drag him into the Mirror Dinsion was already on par with any seasoned sorcerer.

"Deceived?"

Matthew couldn't help but laugh at Kaecilius's expression, as if he had seen through the truth of the world.

Especially when he noticed the mark of darkness on the man's forehead—it only made it more amusing.

A man blinded by Dormammu, reduced to a servant and puppet, was actually striking such a pose.

"I'm not interested in what you're trying to do. But your actions just happen to give a good reason to beat you up. That's all. So stop talking—if you beat , you can leave."

Rumble—!!

Matthew raised his right hand. In an instant, the entire library shook violently. Bookshelves, magical tos, tables, even the floor itself began to twist and surge as if controlled by an unseen force, closing in on Kaecilius as though to crush him into pulp.

Eldritch Manipulation.

It was one of the most basic techniques in magic—the application of magical energy.

Similar to telekinesis, it allowed a caster to influence and control external objects at a distance through will and gestures.

The more skilled the sorcerer, the more precise and effortless the control.

"You arrogant fool."

Even with his indifferent nature, Kaecilius found himself exasperated by Matthew.

He had originally intended to persuade this exceptionally talented sorcerer to embrace the greatness of darkness—to deal a heavy blow to the Ancient One.

But instead, the man before him was nothing more than a battle-obsessed brute.

So Kaecilius decided to show Matthew the greatness of darkness.

Facing the overwhelming mass of collapsing shelves and debris, he raised his hand and slamd his palm down onto the floor.

Buzz—!!

An invisible ripple swept across the entire area. Everything froze for an instant—then reversed direction, surging back toward Matthew.

The floor beneath them rose like a tidal wave, crashing toward him.

As he stood, Kaecilius lifted the hand that had been pressed to the ground and clenched it, as if pulling sothing up from beneath the surface.

A long, translucent spike ford in his grasp.

It was the Space-Ti Shard—a blade forged from fragnts of space-ti, born from torn reality itself and impossibly sharp.

On the other side, as the reversed objects surged toward him, Matthew simply clenched his raised right hand into a fist.

Everything returned to its original state.

But when he saw Kaecilius charging at him with the translucent spike in hand, a faint smile appeared on Matthew's lips.

He almost couldn't hold it in.

A sorcerer—using a weapon—trying to fight him in close combat.

It was honestly laughable.

So when Kaecilius rushed in front of him, raising the Space-Ti Shard to strike, Matthew casually swung a slap.

Boom!!

The force of that slap shattered the air itself. Kaecilius watched helplessly as it ca down, ti seeming to slow countless tis over.

For a brief instant, it felt as though a single word was written across that descending palm—

Death!!!

Then a burst of intense pain flooded his mind. His Space-Ti Shard shattered, and his entire body was sent flying like a cannonball.

He slamd heavily into a bookshelf on the left, one filled with countless ancient magical texts. With a thunderous crash, his body smashed into it.

The shelves collapsed, and an avalanche of books completely buried Kaecilius.
