Watching the unwilling Blackheart being dragged away together with the soldiers of the two Warbands, Matthew shook his head slightly, feeling a trace of sympathy for him.
According to Matthew's plans, the son of the Demon Lord was going to suffer greatly in the future.
The sealing mark he had used earlier was also a type of magic from Kamar-Taj.
It was an independent suppression spell, a harmless form of white magic specifically created to deal with dinsional beings that accidentally arrived on Earth and caused unconscious destruction.
After suppressing the target with this spell and ensuring no harm was done, the sorcerers would then expel the being back to its original dinsion.
Its effectiveness against beings with extrely high levels of existence was limited.
For example, if Matthew had used it on phisto, the latter would have broken free before long.
But against Blackheart, the effect was excellent.
The Demon Lord's son might beco very powerful in the future, but compared to phisto, he was still far weaker for now.
At present, he could only bully a young Ghost Rider like Johnny.
With his nearly immortal physique, Blackheart was perfectly suited to serve as a sparring partner for the Astartes and Raven soldiers.
He was also an ideal test subject for Matthew's future research into magical equipnt.
Just imagining the arrogant and prideful Blackheart falling into despair, raging helplessly in the future, was enough to bring quite a bit of entertainnt.
After calming his thoughts, Matthew saw that the soldiers from both Warbands had already departed.
Then Wong appeared.
He stepped out from a fractured patch of space, but unlike usual, he carried a magical artifact in his hand—the Staff of the Living Tribunal.
The na sounded incredibly imposing, as if it had so connection to the Living Tribunal itself, but in reality, it was just a mass-produced magical artifact.
The kind that sorcerers could practically all have one of.
The staff contained magical runes and various built-in functions, making it especially suitable for use by sorcerers.
"You really are full of surprises, Matthew."
The honest-looking, stout sorcerer stared at Matthew as if he were looking at a monster and couldn't help sighing in amazent.
When Matthew had gone to Kamar-Taj earlier and asked Wong to bring several sorcerers to help deal with phisto, Wong had originally assud they would be fighting phisto together.
Who would have thought that Matthew only needed them to jointly cast a large-scale spatial-locking formation?
And the target wasn't even phisto—it was Blackheart.
At one point, Wong had even wanted to persuade Matthew to reconsider, but now there was clearly no need for that.
After watching the entire battle from beginning to end, Wong and the other sorcerers were all numb with shock. A fight of that level was simply beyond their ability to interfere with.
If they got even slightly too close, they might explode on the spot.
Their level of magic simply couldn't withstand more than a few exchanges in that battle.
Matthew had completely overturned Wong's understanding of him. This young man, who already possessed extraordinary talent in magic, also held other unbelievable powers.
He had even managed to kill phisto's avatar on Earth.
And during the battle, Matthew's use of magic had been so skillful and natural that he had already surpassed Wong entirely.
Wong silently sighed to himself. He had truly been left behind.
There was admiration, but no jealousy. In fact, Wong felt even happier now. Both he and the other sorcerers had beco increasingly convinced that Matthew was destined to beco Kamar-Taj's next Sorcerer Supre after the Ancient One.
With soone so mature and rational leading them, Kamar-Taj would surely only grow stronger in the future.
"Thank you for your help, Wong." Matthew patted Wong on the shoulder sincerely.
"We didn't really do much," Wong replied with a shake of his head. "And besides, this was our responsibility to begin with."
"Co on, let introduce you to my people," Matthew dropped the formalities and led Wong toward Reacher and the others.
As Matthew approached, the three leaders prepared to kneel, but Matthew stopped them with a wave of his hand and pointed toward Wong.
"Benedict Wong."
"Reacher, Natasha, Neagley—the commanders of the Astartes and Raven Warbands."
Matthew briefly introduced both sides. As for Neagley, he did not ntion her actual position. She did not belong to either Warband and instead served as the head of intelligence, so there was no need to explain further.
"Hello, Wong."
"Hello to all of you. It's a pleasure eting you."
Wong replied with his usual honest smile, clearly in a good mood.
Although he was only a sorcerer, he could still sense the extraordinary aura surrounding the three people before him. Earlier, he had personally witnessed the two Warbands overwhelmingly beating Blackheart together.
These people were undoubtedly among the planet's top-tier warriors.
Even as a senior sorcerer, Wong still felt nervous facing monsters like them who specialized in physical combat. Fortunately, they were allies rather than enemies.
As friends, they gave an overwhelming sense of security.
After all, they were comrades fighting to protect Earth.
Naturally, Wong had already placed Reacher's group within the sa camp as himself.
However…
Wong's gaze shifted toward old Carter and Johnny, along with the horse nearby. His eyes moved back and forth between them, filled with scrutiny and caution.
"Two Ghost Riders."
He had recognized what they were.
Or rather, he could sll the aura of Hell clinging to them.
Within Hell itself, Ghost Riders were infamous. As warriors personally created by phisto and loyal to him, they had committed countless extre acts.
Though their reputation in Hell was terrible, they had rarely caused destruction on Earth.
"My apologies, Mr. Sorcerer," the old cowboy said in a deep voice as he lowered the brim of his hat. "We were rely people deceived and controlled by phisto. We were never his lackeys."
"Deceived?"
Wong shook his head, clearly unconvinced.
"phisto is indeed skilled in lies and manipulation, but he only completes the deal after fulfilling the wishes of the person involved."
"You agreed to it willingly."
"I won't deny that," the old cowboy admitted after a mont of silence, letting out a weary sigh. "But I've already awakened to the truth."
"And this kid is different too. We are betrayers."
Carter did not particularly want to explain the details between the Ghost Riders and phisto, but seeing the distrust in Wong's eyes, he slowly began recounting the past.
His real na was Carter Slade.
Back in 1850, he had once been an honorable Texas Ranger in the western territories, a man decorated with glory and reputation.
But because of greed and outside temptation, he eventually committed a cri and was imprisoned. In exchange for his freedom, he signed a contract with phisto and sold his soul, becoming the first Ghost Rider.
From then on, he served phisto in Hell, riding a flaming hellhorse as his mount.
However, one day, phisto ordered him to retrieve a contract from the village of San Venganza. That contract sealed away thousands of evil souls.
If demons obtained it, they would be able to bring Hell to Earth itself and rule the planet.
After obtaining the contract, Carter realized phisto's true ultimate goal. He betrayed him, escaped back to Earth with the contract, and fled.
For the next hundred and fifty years, he hid his identity and lived as a gravekeeper, protecting the contract while avoiding phisto's pursuit.
At the sa ti, he waited for the next Ghost Rider willing to sell his soul for love, so he could eventually pass on his mission.
That person was Johnny.
Unfortunately, before the mission could be fully passed on, tonight's incident had happened first.
Thankfully, the outco had still been a good one.
In the end, neither Blackheart nor phisto had managed to obtain the contract.
After hearing Carter's past, Wong fell silent for a mont before eventually turning to Matthew.
"Matthew, you decide."
"Of course I trust him," Matthew answered without the slightest hesitation.
There was no way he was going to tell Wong that he had already known the entire story from the very beginning.
Or that he also knew Johnny would eventually beco the strongest Ghost Rider in history.
