Now reading: Chapter 231: Killian's Lost Courage from Marvel: The Devourer, a Action novel by Alex002.

Killian was not fond of Aaron. In fact, he was extrely hostile toward him.

He had created Extremis, having the potential to create a top-tier Group. However, this serum, or rather, virus, was highly unstable.

If the virus rejected the host body or beca uncontrollable—for instance, by inhaling an excessive amount of the virus—it could lead to energy overload and trigger a violent explosion.

The host would be instantly vaporized.

Moreover, the failure rate was extrely high, and successful subjects were few and far between.

To further develop Extremis, Killian recruited amputees and other disabled individuals under the na of A.I.M. for human experintation, including a large number of retired soldiers.

After many years of research, Killian has only managed to create dozens of Extremis Soldiers up until now, all other test subjects died from failed injections.

Without a doubt, given the high failure rate of Extremis, it lacked the potential for mass production, and the Departnt of Defense, or rather, the taxpayers, would never accept this thing.

They wanted powerful warriors with the ability for limb regeneration. But they wanted to keep their lives even more.

But Killian's product was life-threatening.

Now look at Aaron Industries. How perfect their Limb Regeneration Serum is, with zero side effects. Isn't that much better than your virus?

This led to A.I.M.'s valuation constantly falling due to the rise of Aaron Industries.

Killian himself was originally considered a major player, but now he had been reduced to a re supporting character.

What was even more infuriating was that Aaron was even more of a big shot than Tony.

Killian wanted to establish biological cooperation with him, but ended up not even getting to et Aaron.

On the Eve of the Millennium, Tony stood him up.

At that ti, Tony was already the richest man, while he was just a minor character with a limp.

Now he had founded A.I.M., beco a biodical dark horse, and possessed tens of billions in assets. Yet he was being snubbed by Aaron.

After all that effort, hadn't Killian developed his company for nothing?

He swore he would make these bastards pay.

Therefore, he subtly mocked certain people in front of the dia.

He was very much looking forward to what wonderful expressions Aaron and Tony would have when they saw it.

It must be wonderful.

Just as Killian's lips curled into a smile, a thunderous Dragon's roar suddenly ca from outside the building.

All the floor-to-ceiling windows of the entire building shattered instantly.

Killian turned his head and found himself staring directly into the eyes of a giant Steel Dragon.

"I see you, little mouse." The giant Dragon split its mouth.

Killian's pupils widened. "What the f*ck is this thing!!!"

Looking at the Steel Dragon, whose eyes were bigger than his body, Killian's legs went soft. He lost seventy percent of his courage instantly.

Without any hesitation, when the giant Dragon spoke and locked onto him, Killian gritted his teeth and mustered his last strength to run in another direction.

At the sa ti, he contacted and gathered the Extremis Soldiers deployed in various locations. By this point, he no longer cared about being exposed.

He wanted to live!

Almost simultaneously, the reporters and Police surrounding the A.I.M. building heard a piercing whoosh,

Everyone felt their ears go deaf.

After a brief mont, they heard a thunderous roar from above.

As the ground shook, they looked up and finally saw Dragonstorm gripping the middle section of the A.I.M. building.

After the initial shock and confusion ca terror.

"A three-headed giant Dragon? My goodness, that's a legendary Dragon!"

"My goodness, what is it going to do? Is it going to destroy the building?"

"A.I.M. must have committed a monstrous cri. God sent a divine dragon to punish them."

"Run! The building is going to collapse!"

"Don't panic yet, let take a picture and post it on Facebook first, I'm going to get rich!"

"I think you're going to fly!"

Reporters and caran ran frantically while recording, their heavy caras not affecting their speed at all, but rather bursting forth with a speed that would make even Bolt blush.

And the Police, looking at the giant figure and then at the 10-palm-sized pistols in their hands, exchanged glances and tacitly retreated.

At this mont, they were actually grateful that Killian had kept them outside and prevented them from entering the building to set up defenses.

Otherwise, they would probably have died in the line of duty today.

"All units, attention! Protect citizens for orderly evacuation!"

George's head was buzzing, but he had, after all, experienced minor disturbances. After regaining his composure, he imdiately organized an evacuation plan.

He wasn't like those on TV who, upon seeing a cri, selflessly led their subordinates to charge.

People beco Police not only to uphold justice but also to make a living. To knowingly do sothing futile is foolish.

This giant Dragon, appearing from unknown origins, was beyond what their Police departnt could handle.

Before the army arrived, the only thing he could do was to ensure the safety of the living taxpayers as much as possible.

As for the real big taxpayer, Killian, and A.I.M....

George looked at the A.I.M. building.

He hesitated for a mont, recalling the gentle faces of Gwen and his wife in his mind. He then looked at his subordinates, who were frantically directing the evacuation at the outermost edge of the crowd, "busily working together."

The fearful expressions on their faces and their eighty-year-old mothers at ho, three-year-old children...

Then he rembered Killian's arrogant face.

"Mr. Killian said their security forces are sufficient to cope with any crisis..."

George gritted his teeth. "Everyone retreat outside and await fire support!"

Everyone breathed a sigh of relief at these words.

However, George did not move far away. He was rely retreating, not fleeing. As the Director of the New York Police Departnt, he had to command from the front lines.

He watched helplessly as the giant Dragon wreaked havoc. His sense of justice made him feel that he needed to do sothing.

"Sniper team, try firing at the giant Dragon!" He gave the order.

The snipers, hidden in the shadows, gritted their teeth and each fired a shot at the giant Dragon's wings. However, the armor-piercing rounds, capable of tearing through steel, bounced off the giant Dragon's body.

The sniper, not believing it, fired several shots at a general location.

"Director, our bullets are ineffective. This giant Dragon... it's harder than steel."

Listening to the sniper team's report, George clenched his fists.

It proved that his imdiate decision to abandon the A.I.M. building and organize an evacuation was the most correct one. But he still found it hard to accept reality.

As Police officers, they could only watch helplessly as the criminal... uh... criminal Dragon committed its atrocities.

What exactly did Killian do? Why would it attract such a monster?

Dragonstorm felt soone "biting" it. Its three heads simultaneously turned to look and quickly locked onto several positions of the sniper team.

Bumblebee stomped its foot. "Stop looking, quickly deal with the target and let's go."

"I'm only giving you one minute. If you don't resolve it, I'll step in."

"The little mouse is mine." Dragonstorm replied and refocused its attention on the building.
