More debris poured down from the collapsing layers above like sand through an hourglass.
Entire sections of the underground battlefield shifted under the overwhelming weight. Mountains of shattered concrete and steel buried tunnels in seconds, constantly reshaping the terrain.
Using that tactic, Psykos gradually took down several S-Class heroes one after another.
Most superheroes simply weren't strong enough to fight multiple Dragon-level monsters at once.
Of course, what nobody realized was that Drex Valen had secretly rescued every single one of them.
At the mont, he was busy smacking Tony Stark upside the head hard enough to reboot his brain.
"Ow! Damn it, could you not hit like a freight train?" Tony groaned, clutching his skull.
"That's your own fault," Drex replied calmly while glancing at the unconscious heroes scattered around them. "When fighting monsters, you attack first. You don't stand there and let them hit you with heart-shaped laser nonsense."
Right then, Psykos and the others finally arrived.
One look at the battlefield told them everything.
Their prey was gone.
"Don't underestimate us," Psykos hissed darkly. "Dragon-level monsters are living disasters on the scale of hurricanes and tsunamis."
Invisible psychic pressure spread through the tunnel.
The environnt itself began twisting under her telekinetic influence.
Nearby, Evil Natural Water silently adjusted its liquid body before generating more than a dozen ultra-high-pressure water cannons across its surface.
Each jet possessed enough force to punch through steel and bedrock.
Although Evil Natural Water could replenish moisture from the atmosphere naturally, high-intensity attacks still consud massive amounts of water reserves and physically reduced its size. Even with its limited intelligence, it understood not to waste energy carelessly.
But this ti was different.
The water cannons locked down every possible escape route around Drex with less than half a ter between firing lines.
No matter how fast he moved, a target his size should've been hit at least a few tis.
And once injured, the battle would imdiately shift in their favor.
"I'd really like to see how you plan to esca—"
BOOM!!!
Before Psykos even finished speaking, Drex vanished.
The only thing left behind was a deafening sonic boom and a violent shockwave ripping through the tunnel.
"Shit!"
Psykos's expression twisted instantly.
Blood vessels burst across her massive eye as dark-purple psychic power exploded outward. She forcibly attempted to lock down Drex's supersonic movent with raw telekinesis.
At this level of combat, Black Sperm couldn't even find an opening to interfere anymore.
Not that he wanted to.
The sweat pouring down his face made that very clear.
"HAH!"
Holess Emperor attacked at the sa ti.
His pupils expanded violently as his concentration reached its absolute limit. Veins bulged across both arms while more than a dozen energy spheres accelerated to near-invisible speeds.
From a distance, they looked like streaks of white light tearing through the darkness.
Even Holess Emperor didn't dare unleash his full power underground.
If the backlash collapsed the tunnels completely, everyone else might survive.
He wouldn't.
Drex reappeared mid-charge.
The black mirror-like armor covering his body reflected the battlefield like polished obsidian while his dark cape snapped violently behind him.
"The strongest human alive..." Psykos muttered hoarsely. "Drex Valen."
FWOOOSH!
The mont she finished speaking, Evil Natural Water attacked.
A devastating high-pressure water beam exploded forward instantly.
THOOM!
Psykos's head jerked violently.
Blood dripped from her eye and mouth as pain surged through her skull.
The psychic barrier she'd secretly prepared around the battlefield had nearly shattered in a single impact.
For one terrifying second, even her thoughts went blank.
Only then did everyone finally see Drex clearly.
He stood in a punching stance.
Far behind him, another "Drex" slowly faded away.
An afterimage.
He'd moved so fast that his previous position still lingered in sight.
And he hadn't hesitated at all.
No dramatic speech.
No waiting for enemies to finish talking.
The instant he saw an opening, he attacked with lethal force.
If Evil Natural Water hadn't sensed his killing intent in advance, Drex likely would've broken through Psykos's psychic defenses already and begun slaughtering everyone there before they could even react.
Cold.
Efficient.
Ruthless.
At this point, the monsters were starting to wonder if Drex was actually more terrifying than they were.
"Super Gravity!"
"Clones, move in!"
"Rapid-fire light spheres!"
"Fire! Fire! FIRE!"
Psychic attacks.
Energy barrages.
High-pressure water cannons.
The unconscious superheroes watching from the sidelines could barely breathe seeing Drex facing so many Dragon-level monsters alone.
Then every attack crashed into a massive energy shield surrounding him.
And stopped cold.
Psykos's expression darkened further.
Fine.
If a handful of Dragon-level monsters wasn't enough...
Then they'd throw in more.
"Great Black Bedrock... Vampire... Furious Multi-Arms... White Radish King... Pill Master..."
As Psykos rapidly called out nas, more monsters erged from the massive pit behind her.
So were giant humanoids made entirely of black stone.
Others resembled pale aristocrats with blood still staining the corners of their mouths.
Massive musclebound creatures with extra arms growing from their ribs.
A horrifying giant humanoid radish frozen in an expression of terror.
A bizarre capsule-thed monster carrying oversized red and blue pills.
Every single one possessed at least Demon-level strength.
There were so many that they now outnumbered the S-Class heroes.
After summoning such an overwhelming force, Psykos finally seed to recover so confidence.
To gather enough monsters capable of countering Earth's superheroes, she'd spent years searching and preparing.
Now all of it was paying off.
Drex finally started feeling a little pressure.
Should he retire the Dark Knight armor here?
It would be a pretty natural mont for it.
Or maybe he should save that reveal for Boros's invasion.
Or even Vegeta and Nappa later on.
Decisions, decisions.
anwhile, Black Sperm's body suddenly began expanding and twisting grotesquely.
Hundreds of pale faces appeared across his stretching flesh.
His aura skyrocketed.
"Thirteen trillion cells rging into one," Black Sperm declared solemnly. "Once the fusion begins, separation becos impossible. A new life can only be born through countless sacrifices. It is tragic... yet beautiful. My heart overflows with sorrow."
"If you're that sad about it, maybe don't transform," Drex said dryly. "Also, quick question. Did you buy the 'killed during boss transformation sequence' insurance package?"
Before the sentence even finished—
Drex was already standing directly in front of Black Sperm.
Completely ignoring the dozens of Dragon-level monsters targeting him from every direction.
