Angel Yan was teleported from Earth straight into the Kryptonian Empire.
Drex Valen sat behind a lavish desk, bright-eyed and immaculate, every inch of him composed. Golden sunlight stread through the window and fell across the emperor's shoulders, sharpening the hard edges of his face in the glow.
When Yan stepped inside, she found Holy Kaisa and the Skyborne King, Hexi, seated on Drex's lap.
Drex set down the gold pen in his hand. There was no ink in it anymore. He clenched both fists, his brows drawing together so tightly they ford a deep crease between them.
A few seconds later, that tension slowly eased.
His sharp gaze dulled.
For a mont, he looked like he had been dragged back into so painful mory. His expression went distant, almost unsteady, and he let out a long, heavy sigh.
Hexi leaned against him, cheeks flushed, her lips parted as she breathed softly.
"Yan, you're here?"
Drex tightened his hold on Hexi slightly as he spoke.
"Your Majesty."
Angel Yan bowed respectfully.
"From today onward, return to the Angel Legion."
Drex's tone was relaxed and lazy. He had just finished a major battle, and he was not in the mood for anything else.
After all, he had personally shaped Holy Kaisa, Hexi, Angel Cold, Angel Chase, Angel Mo Yi, Angel Fan Xing, Angel Ling Xi, Angel Kai La, and many others.
Because of the Mind Stone, Drex had discovered sothing different about these artificial beings compared to the figurines he had made before. They were not hollow replicas anymore. They were more like Vision, sohow granted real life.
"I understand."
Yan had no objections. After she arrived, Drex had already used the Mind Stone to reshape her as well, and now she felt far more vivid, far more alive. It almost seed like an illusion, but it was hard to tell.
When he obtained the Soul Stone later, he could refine them again.
After all, the Soul Stone was the true treasure that could create a soul from nothing.
The Angel Legion's mbers all carried Kryptonian soldier genetics. Their uniforms and armor were manufactured to exact one-to-one scale, made from vibranium, pri Kryptonian tal, and adamantium.
Their flaming swords were built the sa way.
On top of that, they possessed the genes of "angel-type" mutants, giving them a second set of wings capable of flight.
And because they were also Kryptonians, they could fly through the vacuum of space as well.
In every sense, the result was extrely faithful.
"Drex, what are you working on?"
Morgana walked into Drex's laboratory.
"I'm researching the Plasma Spark Tower," Drex said without turning around.
The Kryptonian Empire's scientific power had risen to an absurd level after Drex extorted a massive number of scientists and instrunts from the Kree Empire. That was more than enough to satisfy his needs.
And it also ant one of his long-standing fantasies could finally be tested.
What would happen if a Kryptonian absorbed the light of a Plasma Spark Tower?
The Plasma Spark Tower was the energy source of Orion's Star.
It was also known as the Plasma Sun Tower. Its importance was comparable to the sun itself. After Orion's Star's sun exploded, the scientists of the Land of Light developed it as a replacent power source. Because of it, the native people of Orion's Star evolved into superhuman beings, known as Ultran.
At the beginning, the scientists of the Land of Light intended it to be an artificial sun. Then, so alien sohow interfered with it behind the scenes. Once the tower was successfully activated, everyone in the Land of Light evolved into Ultran.
One could only wonder whether that alien ever regretted it.
After all, that single prank had created millions upon millions of Ultraman warriors.
Krypton.
The most important planet in the Kryptonian Empire, and the world Drex Valen had defined as the mother planet.
Its population was intentionally kept small. Drex wanted to preserve Krypton's purity.
He had even developed a planetary weather and atmospheric shield system to block unknown forms of cosmic radiation so they would not affect the lifeforms living inside.
Because of that, although the Kryptonian Empire had conquered thousands of inhabited worlds, the subjugated populations had never actually seen a true Kryptonian.
That changed now.
The mont Drex finished studying the Plasma Spark Tower and its light ignited across Krypton, hundreds of Kryptonians lifted their heads.
They had all been created from the Life Codex, each one designed with a different occupational genetic template. Drex's enhanced vision saw the cells in their bodies begin to change under the radiation of the Plasma Spark Tower.
The change was beneficial.
Not only the Kryptonians with military genetics, but also those designed for science, civilian life, politics, and administration all began undergoing the sa positive transformation. They were becoming faster and stronger.
And because no alien had tampered with the tower, it naturally would not turn Kryptonians into Ultran.
A safe, stable source of solar energy.
"Let's hope the Marvel Universe doesn't have a red sun," Drex muttered.
With a single thought, he manipulated atoms to assemble ten thousand Plasma Spark Towers and distributed them across every major region of Krypton.
He then artificially altered Krypton's magnetic field and gravity, raising the planet's gravity to ten tis that of Earth.
Native organisms began to die out in large numbers under those conditions. But after Drex modified the microorganisms, new species quickly erged and adapted to Krypton's environnt.
After that, Drex decreed that any Kryptonian leaving Krypton must wear specialized Kryptonian armor.
They already had bio-fields, but extra insurance never hurt.
The Kryptonian armor was forged by Drex from vibranium, pri Kryptonian tal, adamantium, shock steel, atomic alloy, and uru tal. In terms of raw defensive power, even Gladiator might not be able to break through it.
It also carried the rune inscriptions Drex had obtained from Mjolnir, allowing anyone wearing it to command the four powers of wind, rain, thunder, and lightning just like Thor.
On top of that, each suit contained a "mind-protection stone" split off from the Mind Stone by Drex. Its purpose was to shield Kryptonians from telepathic control and psychic interference.
With this armor, even if a Kryptonian were unlucky enough to encounter a red sun, they would not be exposed to its radiation and lose their abilities.
The Kryptonians naturally obeyed the emperor's orders. None of them dared complain.
Hundreds at once was enough for Drex. If there were too many, people would inevitably beco curious and start asking why Kryptonians were so powerful.
These hundreds could each stand on their own. Strip away the large majority who were not designed with military genetics, and the rest were still fully capable of leading troops into battle.
Drex even obtained Gladiator's genetic material for research, to see whether he could clone a Gladiator species.
If that worked, it would be unbeatable.
As for ordinary soldiers, Drex had already made up his mind to find a breakthrough through Hulk.
