After learning why Gladiator refused to return, Empress Lilandra fell into deep thought.
If the Kryptonian Empire truly possessed an entire population of beings like Kallark, surrender might honestly be the smarter option.
Only those who had fought Gladiator firsthand truly understood how terrifying he was.
anwhile, Drex Valen's genetic research on Gladiator had succeeded in cloning nurous copies of Kallark.
There was just one problem.
None of them were anywhere near as powerful as the original.
Or perhaps the issue was simpler than that.
Maybe they were ordinary civilians… while Gladiator himself was a warrior.
As Drex pondered the difference, a familiar wave of dizziness suddenly struck him.
His expression changed.
Not now.
Another mutation?
What kind of Superman was he becoming this ti?
Drex imdiately lay down on the laboratory platform while the Black Queen monitored and recorded every biological change occurring in his body for later study.
What he failed to notice was that this mutation had likely been triggered by the Plasma Spark Towers.
The radiation emitted by ten thousand towers had pierced through the filtering effects of his biofield and reacted directly with his cells.
The transformation did not happen instantly.
After evolving into Doomsday, Drex's genetic structure had beco absurdly stable. Altering that stability required an enormous amount of ti and pressure.
And for the past several months, he had remained on Krypton continuously, absorbing enough Plasma Spark radiation to finally trigger a change.
This mutation was unimaginably painful.
Drex endured it over and over again for an entire month before the transformation finally completed.
When he crawled out of the laboratory, he imdiately understood how horrifying the result was.
The mutation had crushed most of his previous evolutions.
Aside from the Doomsday mutation, which remained intact, his telepathy, energy absorption, and magical Superman abilities had all disappeared.
And yet Drex smiled.
Because he had just crossed an enormous threshold.
He had advanced from a multiversal Skyfather-level being into sothing vastly greater.
A true single-universe god.
This mutation had transford him into a black hole.
Or perhaps more accurately…
A Superman possessing the devouring force of a million black holes.
Every single cell inside his body had beco a black hole singularity.
Black Hole Superman.
He now wielded the power of black holes themselves, the ultimate convergence of gravity and magnetism, the most violent and absolute force in the universe.
To put it simply, Drex could casually create black hole singularities in the palm of his hand and throw them hard enough to erase an entire galaxy-sized star system.
As an offensive power, it was unstoppable.
The attacks of a black hole singularity could distort and erase ti, space, microscopic matter, macroscopic matter, quarks, Planck-scale particles, even quantum structures smaller still.
Everything would be affected.
As a defensive ability, it was even more absurd.
Every cell in Drex's body was now a black hole singularity. Any attack directed at him could simply be ignored, devoured, and converted into fuel for his own growth.
Which also ant his weakness to magic no longer existed.
Even standing still and allowing soone to strike him with magic would accomplish nothing.
"No wonder the mutation took a month," Drex muttered. "The Doomsday genes were too stable. The transformation nearly failed."
That entire month had essentially been a war between the new mutation and the Doomsday geno.
The conflict tortured him relentlessly.
Again and again, the Doomsday mutation was pushed back to the brink of collapse, only to surge forward once more. Eventually, the two evolutions reached a compromise.
The abilities unable to compete, telepathy, energy absorption, and magical Superman traits, were simply erased.
The power of the black hole mutation was too dominant.
Only Doomsday could fight it head-on.
Drex looked down at his hand.
If every cell in his body had beco a black hole singularity… could he even still be called a living organism?
And the mutation had caused another terrifying side effect.
His mass had beco incomprehensibly enormous.
If he released the restraints of his biofield, the resulting gravitational collapse might instantly tear apart everything across a region hundreds of tis larger than the Milky Way before triggering a massive black hole formation.
More importantly, with both the Doomsday and black hole mutations now stabilized, future mutations would probably never happen again.
And if they did…
The resulting power would likely surpass even these.
Drex could not even imagine what that would look like.
He accelerated beyond light-speed and traveled thousands of light-years away from the Kryptonian Empire until he reached a distant star.
Then he experinted.
A black hole singularity ford above his palm.
The terrifying gravity warped space instantly. Layer after layer of distorted spaceti rippled around it like chaotic dinsional currents.
Even at birth, the singularity possessed greater mass than Earth itself.
The gravitational waves alone caused the nearby star to react violently.
Drex tossed the singularity forward.
Wherever it passed, true vacuum appeared.
Everything in its path, light, energy, radiation, high-energy particles, all of it was devoured.
Then the black hole singularity disrupted the star's own gravitational balance.
The star's energy began collapsing inward.
The consumption accelerated rapidly.
The star visibly shrank.
And finally, the entire thing was torn apart into quark-level matter and swallowed completely.
In the place where the star once existed remained only a perfectly silent spherical region of empty space.
The affected zone stretched tens of thousands of kiloters in every direction.
Everything within it had been erased in an instant.
Drex recalled the singularity back into himself and imdiately felt stronger.
"Destroying a star takes less than a minute now," he said calmly. "And with this power, I can resist the Infinity Stones through raw force alone."
"At least now I don't have to worry about the Soul Stone."
In the next instant, he returned to Krypton.
Drex raised his right hand.
Countless black particles erged from empty space itself and rushed toward his palm.
The effect lasted several seconds before fading away.
A small black sphere the size of a marble floated above his hand.
Unlike the singularity from before, this sphere did not distort space.
But part of its composition…
Was neutron-star matter.
For scientists and engineers, material like this was beyond priceless.
Without Drex's biofield restraining it, however, its gravity would instantly annihilate everything nearby.
"So this thing still can't actually be used normally."
Even Drex could not help complaining.
He had created neutron-star matter before, but this sample ca from matter dense enough to exist only within the universe's largest neutron stars.
The problem was obvious.
Its gravitational pull was too extre.
If he wanted to build warships capable of smashing directly through stars, he still had a lot of work ahead of him.
