At that mont, strange shimring crystals began appearing at the Burned Tower's basent. They looked just like gemstones—creating an environnt similar to a Crystalline Cavern!

Hikaru gave the command, and Honedge's shadow quickly shot out, transforming into a sword-shaped strike that slashed at Walking Wake from behind!
However, the attack barely fazed it—it didn't even flinch, rely slowing its movent for a split second before opening its jaws. A massive pulse of blue energy erupted forward—Water Pulse!
The powerful surge of water blasted Honedge away. Thankfully, since Water-type moves only had a normal effect against Steel-types, Honedge was lucky—it hadn't been confused by the attack!

To make matters worse, Honedge had the ability No Guard, which ant that even if it tried to dodge, every attack from Walking Wake was guaranteed to hit!

Hikaru's hands frantically searched through his bag. He was sweating as he realized Reflect was useless against special attacks like Flathrower.
Then, his fingers brushed against an item.
"My Focus Sash!"
A red sash with yellow accents was pulled from his bag.
When held, this item ensures that if the user is at full HP, they will survive a fatal attack with exactly 1 HP.
Unfortunately, Honedge wasn't at full health. But Hikaru had another idea—he pulled out a Max Potion!
A brief logical thought crossed his mind—Wait, when did I buy this? But the thought was quickly ignored.
It didn't matter.
Use it first, think later!
With a swift throw, Hikaru tossed the Focus Sash to Honedge while using the Max Potion.
At that mont, Flathrower erupted through the basent, engulfing everything in flas. Honedge caught the sash, and thanks to the Max Potion, it survived—though its blade was now scorched black.

Honedge glared at the ancient dragon in front of it, feeling like an absolute legend.
anwhile, Hikaru's own body was charred from the fire, but in his subconscious, he believed that humans in the Pokémon world were ridiculously tough—so he figured he'd be fine.
Walking Wake growled in shock. It was baffled.

But Hikaru was even more shocked.
As he dug through his bag, he realized sothing terrifying—he could pull out any item he wanted.
Did he… just unlock Doraemon's four-dinsional pocket?!

Could this be a dream?!

"Lighten your body! Take this, then use Fury Cutter!"
Honedge threw away its scabbard, increasing its speed drastically. At the sa ti, Hikaru tossed it another item—a trono!

Honedge soared into the air and began slashing Walking Wake continuously. The ancient dragon retaliated, wildly whipping its crystalline head and tail, trying to knock Honedge down.
Fury Cutter's power kept stacking higher and higher!
The crystal on Walking Wake's head was soon covered in sword marks, with shards scattering from the strikes. Furious, it suddenly reared its head—
A phantom sun appeared in the sky!
"Sunny Day!"
At the sa ti, its body surged with power—its ability Protosynthesis was activated!
When the weather is Sunny, its highest stat increases by 30%—or by 50% if that stat is Speed!
Walking Wake let out a roar, readying its final attack!
"Breaking Swipe!"
A wide, sweeping attack—hitting all opponents on the field!
With imnse force, Walking Wake's tail swung in a devastating arc, striking Honedge in midair and sending it crashing to the ground!

This attack unleashed scalding-hot water onto its opponent. And thanks to Sunny Day, instead of being weakened, its power increased by 1.5x!

Hikaru reacted imdiately, commanding Honedge to create a decoy. The sword trembled for a mont before generating a shadowy double of itself.
The scorching steam surged forward, colliding with the substitute. When Walking Wake realized it had been tricked, its eyes narrowed. The real Honedge was swaying slightly, its energy almost depleted.
"HP is running low!"
"Catch this—Max Potion!"
Without hesitation, Hikaru pulled another healing item from his bag and threw it toward Honedge.
He had no idea why his bag seed to have an infinite supply of useful items, but at this mont, it felt like an echo of a past life—his instincts as a Potion-Spamming Champion from countless Pokémon battles had been awakened!
"And take these—Eviolite and Occa Berry!"
A faint purple stone was tossed toward Honedge, which caught it and locked it into a slot on its hilt. At the sa ti, Hikaru also handed it a red cocoa bean-like berry—the Occa Berry!
Eviolite—boosts the Defense and Special Defense of an unevolved Pokémon.
Occa Berry—reduces the damage taken from super-effective Fire-type attacks!
With these, there was no longer any fear of Flathrower!

Walking Wake, being a Paradox version of Suicune, was suspected to have originated from an alternate tiline. But none of the Pokémon from its era had ever encountered these kinds of items or strategies before.
