Shaan imdiately activated his Dash skill and shot forward at full speed, racing toward the Blue Lizard as it tried to crush Theo’s throat. Without hesitation, he swung his blade and severed the lizard’s arm, forcing the creature to howl in pain.

"Theo, stay with ." Shaan gently slapped Theo’s cheeks again and again. "Hey—wake up."

Theo gave no response. Shaan froze. His face turned pale as panic flooded his thoughts. No... don’t think like that. His chest tightened. What if I’m too late? What if Theo—

"No. No." Shaan shook his head hard. I can’t think like that. Theo’s still alive. He has to be.

He quickly pressed his fingers against Theo’s neck and checked his pulse. Weak. Irregular—but there. Relief washed over him. Theo had lost consciousness, but he still breathed.

’I need to get him out of here before things get worse.’ Shaan lifted his gaze toward the battlefield, his jaw tightening. ’Yes, I must.’

"Robin Hood, use Swift Quiver on that lizard while I get Theo out of here!"

[Understood.]

Robin Hood imdiately fired a rapid barrage of arrows, forcing the Blue Lizard to retreat and throwing off its vision. Good. The distraction worked. Shaan had his opening.

"Hang on, Theo. I’m getting you out of here."

Shaan heaved Theo’s body up with all his strength and supported him over his shoulder. Theo weighed far more than he expected. Shaan clenched his teeth and moved carefully, making sure Theo didn’t slip from his grasp.

[Shaan, hurry!] Robin Hood shouted as he continued firing. [Damn it! This thing keeps dodging my arrows, and I can’t—]

’Bam!’

"W-what was that?!"

Shaan stopped dead. He turned around—and his body began to tremble uncontrollably. Robin Hood lay sprawled on the ground, motionless. Severe damage covered his body. The Blue Lizard had struck him head-on.

"No... no, no, no..."

’Where did it go?’

Shannon quickly scanned her surroundings, but he couldn’t see the creature anywhere. That’s strange, he’s pretty sure that thing is just right there, but why does it suddenly vanish? Damn, it seed the lizard was using its ability to camouflage again.

’What now? How could I—’

A trail of strange liquid—dark purple mixed with black—slowly crept across the ground, inching closer to Shaan. The mont he noticed it, realization struck him. Earlier, he had severed the Blue Lizard’s arm.

’That’s the blue lizard blood. His jaw tightened. ’I can’t let that bastard get any closer.’

Shaan snapped his gaze around and spotted a stack of drums not far ahead. Thick ropes bound the drums together, stretching tightly across both ends and forming a crude barricade.

’That’s it. I can use that.’

With all his strength, he moved closer to the pile of drums and quickly cut the rope that held them together. In an instant, the drums rolled rapidly to the ground, successfully blocking the blue lizard’s path. Good, at least that would give Shaan so extra ti to escape from here.

’Now, I must find an officer or anyone— Ah, there.’ Shaan shouted at the top of his lungs, panic spilling into his voice. "H-help us! Please!"

Two officers in white robes instantly turned around. The mont they saw Shaan struggling to support Theo’s body, they rushed toward him and caught him just as exhaustion threatened to pull him down.

"What happened to you?" asked a red-haired female officer, confusion written across her face. "What’s going on here?"

"T-the Blue Lizard... it mutated," Shaan replied, his voice shaking as his face drained of color. "That thing is insanely strong. My friend almost died."

"Mutated?" The brown-haired male officer stiffened and shot a sharp look at his partner. "That matches the reports from the other teams."

"Tell us where you encountered—"

Heavy footsteps suddenly echoed from behind Shaan, cutting her off mid-sentence. It ca from the tunnel directly behind him—slow, deliberate, and growing louder with every step. Shaan’s blood ran cold. He knew that sound.

"I-it’s here."

"Rest. Let us take care of it."

The two officers slowly stood up. With serious expressions, they gripped their weapons tightly with confidence. Not long after, a mysterious shadow appeared from the hallway.

"There it is!" shouted the male officer, seeing the blue lizard begin to reveal itself. "We have to finish this damn creature off imdiately. Protect them."

"Okay."

The male officer imdiately lunged forward, launching attack after attack at the blue lizard. His hand swung his sword relentlessly, but the blue lizard easily blocked all his attacks.

"None of his attacks are hurting that creature. I have to help him."

The female officer imdiately opened the spell book she was holding and began reciting her spell. Within seconds, the male officer’s body suddenly emitted a golden-yellow light that enveloped his entire body. His movents instantly beca twice as fast as before, causing the creature’s defenses to weaken rapidly.

"Good, now feel this."

’Slash! Slash!’

This ti, the blades tore into the lizard’s body, forcing it to stagger as its movents slowed. Shaan could only stare in silence. Awe filled his chest as he watched the flawless coordination between the two officers. Their teamwork flowed naturally, precise and lethal. Amazing... A Seeker of Light Daemonist truly operates on another level.

"Now, it’s ti to finish off this damn creature."

However, just as the officer was about to launch his final attack, the lizard managed to avoid him by imdiately camouflaging itself. Unfortunately, the lizard imdiately launched its attack from behind the male officer, causing him to fall and suffer serious injuries.

"Oh no, if this continues, we won’t be able to—"

A long spear suddenly shot out from the side, passing Shaan very quickly. The spear imdiately pierced the lizard’s body, and in an instant, the creature’s disguise was revealed, and it died on the spot. Shaan, witnessing this, remained silent. His face still pale, he couldn’t fathom how the spear could move so fast and hit the creature so precisely, especially since the creature was completely invisible.

’Who... who actually threw that spear?’
