Shaan was speechless for a mont and simply shook his head at the sight of it. He suddenly realized that such things were personal matters that were not important for him to know. After all, he didn’t even know those two people, and whatever was happening with the woman had nothing to do with him."
’Never mind, I’d better go to the main kitchen and find sothing to eat.’
He decided to continue walking down the corridor, choosing to ignore what had just happened and push it out of his mind. However, the sa couldn’t be said for the blonde woman. As she walked away from the man, her steps ca to a brief halt, and a surprised look crossed her face.
’Damn, it seems this woman is starting to suspect that I might have just heard her conversation.’
Even so, Shaan tried to stay calm and kept walking down the corridor as if nothing had happened. The hazel-eyed woman, watching Shaan’s simple movents, eventually chose to ignore her feelings. She then walked past him briskly without saying a single word.
’Oh God, that was close.’
After walking for a few minutes, Shaan finally reached the main kitchen area. He let out a sigh of relief as he realized he had put so distance between himself and the two figures. Good — at least now he wouldn’t have to be indirectly involved in whatever problem the woman was dealing with, because the last thing he wanted was to be seen as soone who ddled in other people’s business.
’’Well, instead of thinking about that. I’d better start looking for so snacks to eat. Hopefully, there will still be so left.’
"After spending a few minutes in the main kitchen, Shaan managed to find a few remaining protein bars on the food shelves. Nice— at least he still had sothing to snack on to quiet his growling stomach. Without wasting any ti, he grabbed two or three bars and sat down right away."
"Finally. I’m nearly pessimistic that I’ll be able to get a snack," Shaan unwrapped his protein bar excitedly. "Now it’s ti to fill my stomach with this snack."
But as soon as he took a bite, his brow furrowed. The taste of the protein bar was nothing like he had expected. There was a bit of sweetness after a few chews, but it was so bland that it made his hunger disappear completely.
"Yuck. What the heck is this?" Shaan imdiately stuck his tongue out. "How can anyone like this thing so much?"
Only a few minutes later, two won were sitting close to Shaan’s table. It was probably only one table away from Shaan that he could very clearly hear the conversation between the two won.
"Oh, yeah, by the way, have you heard about the rumors?"
"Rumors?" The dark-haired woman furrowed her brow. "No, I haven’t. What is it?"
’I’m sure the two of them will start gossiping. I’m pretty sure of it.’
"Yeah, the rumor says that Theo, the son of one of the noble families, was recently humiliated by a blonde woman during the simulation test in the portal."The green-haired woman tore her protein bar and took a bite. "Crazy, right? That woman’s bold to go up against a noble family mber like that."
’A blonde woman? Could it be the sa woman I saw earlier in the corridor?’
"Huh? Really?" The black-haired woman leaned forward with interest. "Wait, wait. What exactly happened? What did the woman do to make Theo that angry?"
"According to the story going around, the woman ended up fighting Theo because she was trying to protect a Daemonist who was being bullied by him. She managed to defeat Theo with ease and successfully helped his victim."
"Wow, that woman sounds like a hero. However, Theo should be treated like that. He’s such a jerk."
"And what’s interesting is that they fought one-on-one using swords, which Theo would surely win late because he is very good with swords. But in reality, it was the exact opposite. He was completely defeated by a woman whom no one even knows anything about."
"Haha... no wonder Theo was so embarrassed," the black-haired woman laughed. "That’s good, at least that big-mouthed man can be self-aware, even though he’s a noble family doesn’t an everyone has to obey his words.
"Yes, I agree with you," said the green-haired woman, nodding her head. "Okay, I think I’ll go back to the room to rest. Today’s training was very, very tiring. How about you?"
" too." The black-haired woman stood up from her chair, then pulled her friend’s hand. "Co on, let’s go back together then."
"Okay."
After the two won left the main kitchen, Shaan remained silent. He was starting to understand why the man he had seen earlier, who was none other than Theo, had spoken so harshly to the blonde woman. But at the sa ti, he hadn’t expected that the blonde woman was highly skilled with a sword. Damn. Who was she?
"Never mind that, I’d better go back to the reading room and continue- Yaaawn- ah, crap." Shaan stretched his body upwards. "It feels like my body is suddenly exhausted, and there’s no way I can continue reading. I’ll just get sleepy, and surely that old granny will cuss out right away," he breathed out. "I’d better get so rest now."
Shaan then left the main cafeteria and decided to go back to his room. Once in the room, he imdiately lay down on his bed. A sense of softness and comfort instantly enveloped his body, and in just a matter of seconds, he fell asleep soundly like a baby.

’Knock!Knock!Knock’
"Huh?" Shaan rubbed his eyes, looking at the clock that showed 5 am. "Who’s knocking on my door this early?"
He imdiately got up from his bed and walked towards the door. Slowly, he opened the door and saw a man in a white uniform appear right in front of his door. Strange, what exactly is an officer doing here this early in the morning?
"Sorry to disturb your ti, Mr. Shaan. But I have orders from Mr. Luis to gather all the amateur Daemonists to the outside field. You must co with there."
"Alright, I understand. Then let change to- Hey, Hey, what’s going on?"
"You have to co with now." The officer imdiately pulled Shaan’s hand. "Mr. Luis is already in the field, and we can’t let him wait for us."
"Ugh, fine." Shaan nodded his head, then walked after the officer. ’Damn. What the hell is going on?’
