The light diamond race seed to be taken aback by the fact that it hadn’t been focused on and agreed with right away. Instead Walker was saying that he was making a deal with the rcenaries they hired? That he wasn’t looking to directly partner with them and gain sothing?
This was abnormal. It was very out of the ordinary. So far so that they didn’t have a proper response.
Normally, they could make whatever they wished and pursue the materials that they desired/. Their race was important in this area of the light elental plane. They had the skills to gain what they could and push for more and more. Yet, they were not able to get these materials being shown in front of them?
Furthermore, the rcenaries that they hired often had a deal being made and they would need to ask through the rcenaries for a supply of materials they had never seen?
It made zero sense.
"We can broker an arrangent as the guards and transporters. I can not promise the cost or timing of goods. We are not a rchant group." Seeing that his idea was being caught on to by the sapphire eyes race who led the rcenaries, Walker stayed silent.
"We are interested in the materials you have now. We will hire you to collect materials from other lands as well." Seeing that they directly were looking to just send the rcenaries to gather materials like normal to get around the oddity of the situation, Walker spoke up.
"The world is not a place to send rcenaries to gather materials. That is the sa as sending them to die. There are multiple manners within the world and the ways that they balance and mix will cause their bodies to perish without protection. They will need training and that is why they are being offered a contract to work with my Genesis alliance."
Now Walker was throwing heavy words out.
The rcenaries already understood his strength and what they needed to do to be able to work with him. However, it was the light diamond race mbers that did not understand what they would be able to gain and lose. This was entirely different from anything that they had arranged before.
To be able to work with Walker, he needed them to understand that they would need to pursue. Knowledge about the world and the Genesis alliance.
It was sowhat amusing to see that he had captured so much of their attention. The three who had co up to him alone were still too shocked to keep focusing . But now, it was just developing more and more as they went on.
"The training will take ti, would it not?" Walker knew that he had already showed off so items that were valuable to that training, but he still spoke like he hadn’t yet.
"It will take at least a month. So I would recomnd just resting and training until then. Why don’t you rest outside of the bridge to the world? That way I can send others back and forth to et you and share so knowledge." Walker made a show of keeping the rcenaries as the focus while cutting connections with the light diamond race.
This was when several more of the crafting heavy race moved toward them. It was easy for them to gather and see the goings on in the street. Since they also did not have a set of leaders, it was all based on whose attention was garnered.
The stronger crafters who could work with the best new materials were those who would only be brought out by sothing truly interesting. The words of soone with an unseen material brought them out looking and they heard every single word spoken as they approached.
"I want your materials. We have items to trade. We can make a deal." They had the sa forward and focused approach.
"Then you can speak with the light sworn rcenaries. They will be unavailable for so ti but they will be your eting point for any trade with Genesis." Walker left it at that and saw the rcenaries cheer a bit. They knew that their leader had just secured a chance for them to grow more.
Not only had they t Walker with a lucky encounter but now they had the light diamond crafters who always acted like they were nonexistent despite their quests and all the work in the pal of their hands. It was perfect and they also knew that they would have consistent work that would be more sought after.
Walker wandered off and found a couple more of the rcenaries sticking behind them. They were three older n, all from a race called the light wing race. Apparently they used to have feathery wings but as ti went on they shed their wings and ford them out of light mana. aning that they were also known for the mana within their bones.
The simple reason these three followed him was because they were interested in the world and wished to hear more. Walker also caught on that as older rcenaries in the group they had so weight in what the leader did and what quests to follow.
Since that was the case, then Walker shared what he could about the world when they questioned him. But he also made it clear that equality was key. That Genesis would only deal with others if that was an agreent between them as well. It showed a lot of potential for the rcenary group to beco a bit more than just rcenaries if they so wished to be.
"We have ambassadors of Genesis who travel in to the elental planes often now. We have races who left the light elental plane and live within the world now because it is safer. So, we hope when all of you visit you can et them and understand how you can better work with them and us."
This small bit of information placed a foundational fact.
Genesis would need things from the rcenaries for those who ca from the light elental plane and that would be the perfect field for trades. It would also guarantee that Walker was not the only one they needed to speak with or worry about in terms of trades or quests to take for work.
As he eventually found himself left alone, Walker observed the crafting village even more.
So of the light diamond race were crafting things right out in the streets. It seed that their inspiration entirely controlled how they lived. If they had an idea, they would halt and work on it right away.
If they had a chance to grab a material they had never used, they would leap at it.
Their culture was even more focused than that of the dwarven race.
Instead of mining and gathering materials themselves, the light diamond race had ignored that aspect of crafting and fully focused on crafting itself. Not just as an art but as a aning to their very existence.
It ant that the dwarves might be beaten in that respect but could also be called as more well rounded by comparison. That didn’t an Walker doubted they would get on poorly with the light diamond race. He even felt that they might imdiately start trading even more crafting ideas the second they had the chance to do so.
Regardless, Walker saw so swords made of light affinity materials. So had been made from mundane waste materials like remnant ores, tal shavings, and wood scraps. All seen as waste but altered and mixed to make light shields or small gears. Every bit of each material was used in so way.
That was what he saw that truly put the light diamond race in perspective. They used everything just like so wandering tribes of the demi-human race did.
If this approach to crafting was shared within Genesis, then the material struggle could be mitigated a little more easily. Wasted scraps having uses like here in this light diamond race village could be much more valuable for Genesis because they were currently working hard to keep expanding and developing.
They needed every bit of everything they had to proceed with various building projects. Every small secret or skill that reduced waste was invaluable, and the light diamond race had perfected that when it ca to crafting.
After another long look around, Walker decided to see what other groups might be hired by the light diamond race. He wasn’t looking for another rcenary group to hire. He found a good one already.
He wanted to look in to what else was being hunted and gathered around here. He felt himself curious about more potential conflicts due to added elental planes before he popped back toward Genesis to check on the floating island projects.
