This was sort of a test when it ca to the newly enhanced mana sight and mana sensing abilities that Rey had gained at a higher level than she possessed before. It was partially also a way for Walker and Su to make sure that she was doing alright.
They both knew for sure that the way Rey acted when she was feeling tired from making too many potions or she was injured ant that she was going to hide so of it. She would do the sa with her younger siblings in the orphanage at tis too, and if Rey thought that those very siblings didn’t tell them that Rey was too foolish.
The way that Rey found what she wanted to follow was interesting.
She didn’t pull at fire mana and try to manipulate it in the ways that Walker would do so when trying to follow manas to track down their origin. Instead, Rey could clearly see the versions of fire mana that she was trying to sense and track.
This proved that her sight was allowing her to see the extre fire differences between each fire mana drifting within this area between the developing elental planes. It was sothing that Walker would struggle with if he was just focusing on fire mana. He had the skill to see every mana instead which was valuable to him.
She picked away at the different forms of fire mana ignoring the weakest strands and even the more dangerous fluctuations that would co from dangerous fire elental planes. She understood that they would not be valuable to what they were trying to learn.
Seeing that Rey was excluding the more violent fire manas provided even more that Rey could decipher which manas would lead them to a dangerous situation. These more dangerous and brutal fire manas couldn’t be coming from anything small or anything that would be safe to be around. It could even an that sothing might be fighting inside that developing elental plane or attacking the sealed elental plane itself too.
The risk was not worth it right now.
When Rey smirked, they realized she had picked up a small strand of fire mana. Specifically, alchemy fire mana. Sothing familiar and perfectly suited to what Rey wanted to learn about.
This made Walker and Su wonder if they had let her take the lead too quickly before she started to rush ahead. Neither expected her to have so much energy to rush after a strand of fire mana when she was still clearly weaker from carrying around a condensed mini fire elental plane.
Even Walker felt like he wouldn’t be able to keep up his maximum speed because he was tried from condensing the very sa fire elental plane.
Regardless, as they moved the three saw a few smaller elental planes. One was wind and it appeared to be too weak in purity. Barely enough to be held together by the seal that was clearly on it. Similar wind elental runes ford over it sealing it made it clear that it had been brought there for a reason but would most likely cease if left alone for a bit longer.
Walker hesitated for a mont before realizing that it could cause them issues if he toughed it. Another origin race mber most likely would sense soone ssing around with it even if he was just tentatively probing it could alert them and bring issues out for Walker.
The other elental plane that they saw was a massive water elental plane. It looked like five oceans within a singular space all clashing with different plants sticking out of waves. It would be better to call it extrely unique in the sense that the ecosystem was many ecosystems all colliding and creating a new one.
If this one were to be brought in to the water elental plane then it would most likely cause a lot of issues. It was why Walker purposefully threw so of his mana at it. Just enough for him to sense if he were to go looking but not anything that could cause harm to a seal.
It was sealed, the feeling was more like water mana denser than the others was used to keep the seas within trapped. So it ant another origin race mber had done this compared to the previous. Therefore, the mana he released seeped through the seal and Walker could vaguely sense it.
He knew it could be found but as long as he didn’t make any grand changes, he had the instinctual feeling there wouldn’t be a problem. He also knew that it was likely a few powerful beings were observing this area already and would watch his movents no matter what he did.
Call that instinct too, it’s what Walker would do if his strength was greater. But here, he tried to keep his strength hidden and controlled. He knew he could not counter many that called this area ho or rested here.
Oddly enough, it was only a few short monts before they reached the deep red fire elental plane that Rey had tracked. It even seed to be breaking the seal left behind letting out these strands of fire mana.
Its appearance was like a ball of algae that was growing too wildly on certain parts causing strands to break away randomly in a water current.
’Alchemy fla for elental plane - degrading
After being abandoned as a less pure fire elental plane, this alchemy fla elental plane has begun to bleed mana in to the surrounding area. It has also caused several smaller monsters to penetrate the sealing that used to hold strong when the origin race mber keeping it intact still cared for it.
Due to the neglect, those monsters have caused the entire plane to begin to break down even faster while also causing the unique fla crystals being born within to beco nothing more than shards.
This alchemy fla elental alone will cease to exist within the next three years or sooner depending on what natural predators co to consu it. The only ways to avoid this would require the removal of parasitic monsters, the sealing of the plane, the purification of mana, and even the addition of similar fire elental materials...’
It was like looking at sothing dying. And in essence, that was what was really happening. This fire elental plane was dying and breaking down. It had no chance to be saved as long as it had been abandoned here.
"I wonder what caused it to be abandoned..." Su felt bad, she didn’t like that there was potential being wasted here. But she also feared that if this was abandoned there might be a deeper reason to that.
"I don’t think it was abandoned willingly. If the appraisal says it was cared for, I would bet it was left behind because the origin race mber had to move for another reason." Walker wanted to hold this might not be the case but it felt like that would be the case right now. None of them wanted to consider that though, mostly because whatever could force an origin race mber to move away was sothing they could not handle.
"Whatever the reason, Walker is here now. So what can you do about it?"
Walker was at a loss. He wasn’t an expert and sealing this place for a long ti was out of his level of comprehension entirely. He also couldn’t easily purify it or do what he had done with Rey. He couldn’t have her carry this elental plane.
"You could use it to make a spatial storage, right? It’s already broken and damaged so it would make perfect materials for that to happen. It’s that or it degrades and falls apart. But if you use that portable alchemy lab skill and make a connecting spatial storage won’t it make a unique alchemy lab skill with alchemy fire to be used with it?"
Su had these crazy thoughts and Rey seed to be cheering her on now. The slight pale pallor on Rey’s face proved that she had exerted herself more than normal to hit this too. So it made Walker pause before just nodding.
He felt like Su and Rey were on to sothing so he didn’t want to let them down. He also wanted to trust himself a little more and see what potential he had in this. If it worked out, he could improve a skill that Rey was interested in and also have a better chance to make potions on the fly when in need.
It could pay off in his experience with elental planes too. This was done at so point and was only being broken down because it was neglected. So realistically, he could say he was clearing up trash right now.
