But here, it was clearly different.
It had obviously beco uncontrollable.
Yu Ziqing chatted with the old man in the temple for half the day, and at one point ca to a collapsed wall, looking out.
From afar, he saw a person clad in gray Official Uniform, with a sign on the shoulder, leading a group of people flying low in the sky.
The man had round eyes wide in anger, his eyebrows were inverted eights, his cheeks sunken, exuding the scent of incense fire, and on the sign he bore on his shoulder, were the words "day patrol".
Waves of brilliance continually spread out, covering a distance of more than ten miles.
However, as the man passed by the temple, Yu Ziqing saw that the dispersed halo slid away three feet before reaching the temple, curving around it.
Those people seed not to see the temple at all, flying straight past not far from the temple, while Yu Ziqing stood behind the half-collapsed wall, unnoticed.
Yu Ziqing was slightly startled.
It was wrong, not that those people did not co to this place, nor did they cut the old man so slack.
It was that they simply couldn't get to the temple, they couldn't even see the temple.
"Old man, do you recognize those people?"
"The City God's day patrol, probably here to catch you. Generally, these lords wouldn't bother coming to such a rural place."
"Do you know if there are any other temples apart from this one?"
"There is, by the Shao family's ancestral ho in town, another small temple. After the Shao family prospered, they built a new one here, but they didn't tear down the old one."
The old man pointed Yu Ziqing in the direction.
"Thank you."
"Young man, you better go now, leave quickly, don't die in vain."
"Aren't you leaving?"
"I can't leave, and I don't want to. I was born here, grew up here; every grain I ate ca from this place. I'm old, I don't want to die away from ho."
Yu Ziqing clasped his hands in thanks and didn't insist. After the sun was about to set and the day patrol had left with their people, Yu Ziqing finally stepped out of the temple.
He lit incense fire, smoked his black robe until it was filled with the scent of incense, then ran off toward the town.
When night fell, the town that was very quiet during the day beca lively and noisy again.
Yu Ziqing, exuding a strong scent of incense, avoided the crowds; even if soone saw him, they didn't pay much attention.
Just as Yu Ziqing had located the ancestral ho of the Shao family, the sun completely set.
At the sa ti, a figure in a black robe, holding a black umbrella, silently drifted into the town from outside.
Beneath his umbrella hung a wind chi, tinkling, and behind him followed a small child about three feet tall, carrying a black wooden sign with the words "Night Patrol" written in white.
The pale light, almost blending with the moonlight.
Wherever the Night Patrol passed, within the illuminated range, everyone respectfully saluted, so lit incense fire, brought out offerings, and worshipped them on the street.
The Night Patrol laughed several tis, lowered their altitude slightly, and with a faint inhale, the offerings rapidly wilted and decayed, turning into a pile of dust, as if everything was slowly consud along with the incense.
Taking advantage of the Night Patrol sweeping up the benefits, Yu Ziqing sneaked into the back courtyard of the Shao family ancestral ho, climbed over the wall, and found the temple.
This place was indeed small, just a single room, and it looked to have been in disrepair for a long ti.
The house next to the temple, however, looked noticeably different, at least it appeared clean.
The temple was filled with a lot of dust, and so ancestral tablets had been gnawed away by rats using them as teeth grinding sticks.
Yu Ziqing entered the temple and looked out through the missing window.
In no ti, he saw the Night Patrol fly over.
The cold light that was shed, as Yu Ziqing had expected, curved around the temple. At a distance of one yard outside the small temple, it took a turn, passing through the house next door.
Beneath that light, the room next door was as if transparent, showing clearly what was within.
After the Night Patrol left, Yu Ziqing chuckled.
This ti his judgnt was completely verified.
Those people simply could not see the temple.
Their power not extending to the temple only indicated one other thing: to them, this temple was simply not part of their space.
Yu Ziqing rummaged through his Storage Bag, took out a shovel, and stepped out of the temple.
Using the spot where the light did not reach as a boundary, he moved a foot further in and brandished the shovel into a blur of shadows, swooshing as he started to dig.
As an individual cultivator, doing this kind of tough old work, he was astonishingly quick.
In the ti of one incense stick, he had almost carved out the space beneath the temple.
After hollowing it out, Yu Ziqing used various materials to weld a base to the bottom, and then reinforced the room with tal to ensure that the house wouldn't fall apart.
Once he had completed all this, Yu Ziqing lifted the temple with one hand and flew into the mid-air.
"Brother, maybe I should do this..." Lou Huai couldn't hold back anymore and finally spoke up.
"No need, it's fine, this is a special Magical Treasure, ensuring that I won't be detected while wandering around here.
Better safe than sorry. The previous people who ca here, Ninth Tier Strong, were all killed.
We also need to be careful, at least until we encounter other items we need to check things out, and we must be cautious in our actions."
Yu Ziqing had brought the Ten Thousand Soul Banner and Lou Huai when he ca in.
Lou Huai was there to serve as the hound, and the Big Ghost of the Ten Thousand Soul Banner couldn't be used recklessly either.
