Now reading: Chapter 72 - 59: The Village Chief's Simple Concept from Master of Strange Dao, a Action novel by Unsettling Youtiao.

Yu Ziqing spoke about many recent matters, including his suspicions regarding the White Sun Evil Cult. Old Yang imdiately understood why Yu Ziqing was asking.

After reading the letter, the village chief was grinding ink nearby while Old Yang held a pen between his hooves and started to write flamboyantly.

There were indeed many ways to restore an arm.

If one was a Ninth Tier Body Cultivator, a severed arm would be considered a minor injury, easily regenerable by oneself.

Alternatively, if the corresponding Divine Skills had awakened beforehand, this kind of injury was also a trivial issue.

Actually, if Yu Ziqing's friend didn't mind switching races, it would be quite simple. Just die of starvation, and one would recover instantly. The Hungry Ghost Dao seed promising at present. The first batch of individuals undertaking this path, although without predecessors' guidance, were sure to have a boundless future as long as they did not stray.

However, since Yu Ziqing had asked him, it was clearly evident that the guy with the severed arm wasn't too keen on changing races.

Old Yang pondered and began outlining thods for regenerating a severed arm. The best, of course, was using a Discontinuation Pill. The highest-grade Discontinuation Pill would result in a new arm identical to the original, but it wasn't an option for the poor, so he wrote the economical version.

After lavishly writing out four or five options, Old Yang continued to docunt the Nine Techniques of Possession, covering all recorded types. Of course, this was just an introduction, not the specific Dharma thod.

Although he did know a few specific Dharma thods, he dared not casually write them down. Such thods were taboo and could easily cause trouble.

While he dared not write about the thods of possession, he freely wrote about the anti-possession techniques. Such knowledge was available as teaching materials at the Daqian Langya Institute.

With Yu Ziqing being away so long and finally sending a letter to seek his advice, Old Yang poured all his effort into it.

In the village, it was lonely. These villagers were nice but had little interest in unrelated matters, unlike Yu Ziqing, whose curiosity made him want to copy all the useful and useless knowledge from Old Yang's mind.

Back then, there were many such eager learners, sotis to Old Yang's annoyance. Now in the village, with not even one, it felt uncomfortable instead.

Especially with these villagers, they didn't even want to hear useless knowledge. All they ever did was body cultivation, fighting, getting beaten, mining, eating...

All of his knowledge found little use except for his least adept skill, Body Cultivation.

After writing with great speed, Old Yang still felt unsatisfied and added so additional things he thought Yu Ziqing might use, along with a few secret techniques that he believed Yu Ziqing, at his level, could master. Powerful yet easy to start.

As for these secret techniques, they were resource-intensive and might have so side effects, but for soone like Yu Ziqing specializing in Body Cultivation, it shouldn't be an issue.

He included both Qi Refinent and Refining God secret techniques, and finally added so cultivation thods related to Martial Arts True Intent...

Being out in the world, facing hardships was inevitable. Providing additional safeguards was only appropriate.

The village chief, watching from the side, blinked incessantly at Old Yang's actions. What was Old Yang up to?

"Why bother with all that? You'd be better off growing those Jinlan Mushrooms sooner so he can focus on Body Refinent, advance to the Undying Realm quickly, and then he won't need to practice any secret techniques, as nothing could kill him."

"Heh..."

Old Yang smiled sarcastically, unwilling to argue with such villagers.

Ninth Tier Body Cultivator?

What were they thinking? The Daqian, with the most cultivators, only had one Ninth Tier Body Cultivator right now, and he wasn't even a part of the Daqian court.

The village chief shook his head and continued his own Body Refinent.

Although less knowledgeable than Old Yang, the village chief had a narrow yet far more focused expertise on certain matters.

Ever since his declining Qi-Blood began to recover, Old Yang remarked that the village chief's lifeti accumulation could be comparable to a Dao Cultivator's, capable of entering Dao normally. At the very least, he could advance unhindered to the Seventh Tier, with the Eighth and Ninth Tiers not being impossible.

From then on, the village chief had a simple thought.

Cultivate diligently with the hope of advancing to the Undying Realm of Body Cultivation, and if possible, even higher.

In the past, when the Wilderness was still normal and he was younger, if villagers from another village bullied his people, he'd first go and beat up their village chief, which usually settled things.

Now things seed different, yet he felt nothing had really changed. If Yu Ziqing was bullied outside, he didn't mind the specifics. He'd just go and find the strongest and highest-ranking person in the opposing faction and beat them up.

So now the village chief was very passionate about his cultivation, enduring solitude and monotony. His mindset was calm, neither arrogant nor impatient, far beyond what the youth could compare.

While the village chief was cultivating, Old Yang finally finished his relentless writing. The village chief gathered the papers, watching as Old Yang expelled a breath of Evil Qi to seal the letter, taking it and disappearing from the spot.

The village chief did not use the hungry ghosts in the locust forest to deliver it; he intended to et the courier in person.

As he approached, the thick layer of fallen leaves in the locust forest automatically parted to reveal a path.

His figure beca a phantom, swiftly moving through the locust forest. In places where so hungry ghosts controlled the locust trees, they uprooted themselves slightly and shifted aside to make way, lest they be smashed by the human-ford mud truck and have no choice but to acknowledge it.

Monts later, the village chief, with cascading Qi-blood, erged at the forest's edge.

The Posthouse Official was still waiting, calculating how the first delivery earned one drop, and the second delivery earned two. The next would surely profit.

He was just thinking this when he saw the locust trees within the forest hurriedly uproot their stout roots and shift aside.

A few breaths later, from the depths of the locust forest, red light blazed forth. The intense Qi-blood energy, burning brightly, caused the surrounding temperature to spike sharply.

In the blink of an eye, the Posthouse Official saw an emaciated elder appear outside the locust forest.

The elder glanced around, noticing the Posthouse Official on the ground, and imdiately smiled.

"This must be the Posthouse Official. Thank you for your efforts."

The village chief handed over the letter to the Posthouse Official, then took out a box.

"Here's a small treat, fresh out of the fryer, a local specialty you won't find elsewhere. You're welco to try it."

Sweat began to form on the Posthouse Official's forehead, partly from the heat and partly from fear.

Being near a Body Cultivator with such dense Qi-blood energy at such a close distance made him fear that his maximum burst speed might still be slower than the other's.

Of course, he didn't sense any malice but feared that a stray hair from the elder could accidentally kill him.

"No need, really, it's my duty."

The Posthouse Official accepted the letter, slipped the box into his large sleeve, and didn't dare say another word, instantly disappearing from sight.

The village chief wished to exchange a few more pleasantries, but the Posthouse Official had already left. He glanced at himself and, considering Old Yang's introduction to the Posthouse, thought he might have been a bit too hasty and spooked the other. It'd be better to keep a polite approach next ti.

...

A little over a day later, the Posthouse Official returned, delivering the letter to Yu Ziqing.

Yu Ziqing, not having yet read the letter, generously gave two drops of sweet rain first.

"Thank you for your trouble. Consider this an advance on the next delivery."

The Posthouse Official bead, imdiately forgetting his previous fright. Receiving paynt before labor would delight anyone.

Looking forward to more, he gulped down the two drops of sweet rain.

Instantly, his brow furrowed, his face scrunched up, and with a retch, he spat out a blob of black water.

The black water pooled on the ground, forming a sphere, writhing and rolling. A few breaths later, it solidified, revealing a small hole opening on its surface. A tiny black hoof erged from within.

Following closely, a shriveled, ebony pony less than an inch high crawled out.

The little pony stood up, circled around the Posthouse Official, and dashed to Yu Ziqing. It trotted up his leg, climbed vertically, and galloped back and forth across his shoulders, occasionally nuzzling his cheek.

Yu Ziqing extended a finger, and the ebony pony imdiately nuzzled it with its face.

After considering for a mont, Yu Ziqing produced another drop of sweet rain, holding it out to the pony with his finger.

The little pony, accepting eagerly, slurped up the droplet, slightly increasing in size, with its belly now round and taut.

Once full, the pony jumped to the ground, returned to the Posthouse Official's side, and lay silently against him.

The Posthouse Official stroked the pony's head, his smile as wide as his face.

"I finally have a horse. Once I'm back, it'll surely an a promotion, eating whatever I want."

"Next ti, I won't charge for helping you deliver, not once, but twice!"

"You guys have companion steeds too?" Yu Ziqing was amazed; he'd never heard of it, and even Old Yang hadn't ntioned it.

"Of course, otherwise why call it Posthouse? Every Posthouse has the potential to have its own companion, but previously, only our Clan Leader had one. Now I have one too."

The Posthouse Official couldn't contain his joy, and his smile was unstoppable. He approached Yu Ziqing, transforming one hand into a hoof to imprint an imprint on Yu Ziqing's arm.

"Next ti you need to help with your letter delivery, just summon with this. Once I sense it, I'll co imdiately. But now, I must return."

"Alright, congratulations. You've got a horse now too."

The Posthouse Official stored away the newborn pony and vanished instantly.

Returning to Dali, he arrived at the Eastern Palace, where the Crown Prince was reading.

"Your Highness, you summoned . Is there a ssage to deliver?"

The Crown Prince sized up the Posthouse Official, his gaze focusing as a small, emaciated black pony fell from the official's large sleeve.

"Huh, you've also manifested a companion steed?"

"By sheer luck, sheer luck. I encountered a truly wonderful person." The Posthouse Official couldn't hold back, smiling with abandon. "Your Highness, where should the ssage be delivered?"

"No rush on the ssage. First, tell what happened?"

The Posthouse Official didn't hide anything, explaining the task Yu Ziqing had entrusted to him, delivering a family ssage.

"So, you didn't enter the Forbidden Land of Jinlan Mountain but t its people?"

"t, yes, I did." The Posthouse Official replied earnestly, shaking his head afterward. "But Your Highness, I was rely helping Big Brother Qing with a family ssage. I'm not at liberty to disclose whom I t or where I delivered. That's for you to guess, unrelated to ..."

As he spoke, the Posthouse Official beca a bit embarrassed, mumbling awkwardly.

"Please don't ask anymore. If I say more, I'll feel guilty to Big Brother Qing."

The Crown Prince smiled, tapping the Posthouse Official on the forehead with a finger.

"Oh dear, you've been bought over so quickly? Alright, I won't ask anymore. But next ti you help him with the family ssage, make sure it's during your available ti. Rules must not be broken."

"Of course, I understand. I am, after all, the Posthouse Official of Dali." The Posthouse Official nodded repeatedly.

The Crown Prince shook her head with a smile, unwilling to argue with the small figure.

She understood the significance of a second companion steed for the Posthouse tribe.

The Clan Leader of the Posthouse tribe was birthed from the remains of a long-lived Fiery Fla Dragon Horse King, the companion steed Heavenly Horse born from using a sliver of True Dragon Essence Blood.

For the little guy before her to return so promptly upon her summons, without clinging tightly for more rewards, was evidence enough of a sincere character.

"Alright, deliver this secret ssage to the Western Desolation General."
