Everyone present had already witnessed this scene. They were no longer surprised and instead turned their gaze towards Bai Mo and the White Gloves.
The White Gloves squatted at the feet of the master, leaning against the master’s leg, its eyes wide open and mouth slightly agape.
What is that? A puppet? Where did it go?
Bai Mo pondered for a mont.
"Is it an array? An illusion array? A blinding technique?"
His divine sense had already penetrated this array, revealing the real scene behind it in the dead end. He sighed inwardly, but his expression remained unchanged.
He instructed his fox disciple, "Go give it a try. Use your claw to tentatively move forward."
With the master present, the White Gloves feared nothing, so it held its front paw outstretched, using its claw to probe the way, and moved towards the depths of the dead end.
Suddenly, its claws seed to strike an invisible water curtain, causing the air to ripple in rings.
It turned its head, saw the master nod, and then with all ten claws, it jabbed forcefully forward!
Pop!
With a crisp sound, it was as if a huge bubble had been popped by the White Gloves.
The scenery in the dead end instantly changed to a different appearance.
The originally cold, white-bricked dead end was now filled with blood-red.
What was once a quiet and soundless dead end was now buzzing with a swarm of flies!
The originally antiseptic-slling dead end suddenly emitted a heavy, rancid stench of blood!
A group of Immortal Technique Committee mbers were overwheld by the stench, instinctively covering their noses and stepping back.
On the ground lay densely drawn blood array maps, with ancient motifs and hieroglyphs; within several blood-red circles, sothing was enclosed.
"What’s in those circles? Little leather fans?"
"Are those human ears?"
"And that spherical thing?"
"Damn, it looks like a human eyeball!"
Blood ford the array map, with human eyes and ears encased within the red circles. The na of this array map was "Blinding Technique."
Veteran committee mbers only felt eerie, their faces pale.
Newer mbers bent over to vomit, quickly dragged away by veteran mbers, "Don’t vomit here; don’t destroy the scene. Catch it with your uniform if you have to!"
Looking beyond the array map, deeper into the dead end, the scene there was even more ntally disturbing.
Dozens of headless corpses lay in disarray, with dozens of heads rolling about, filling the dead end completely! Their wounds and the blood on the ground had already dried, turned black, no longer fresh, attracting a large swarm of flies, feasting hungrily.
Committee mber Gu Lin’s face turned pale.
He observed the dead end, "Has the murderer already escaped?
"Who on earth did this?
"What is their intention?"
The White Gloves retreated, hopping onto the master’s shoulder, its fluffy body nestling against the master’s neck and head.
It had just co out to work, thinking about getting fried chicken with the master afterward, but how did it encounter such a psycho? It severely affected its appetite!
Committee mber Gu Lin was already making phone reports.
A crowd of committee mbers and experts didn’t enter the scene, waiting outside the dead end, temporarily on standby.
Bai Mo suddenly heard Yu Tingting whisper.
"Is this... practicing [Beheading]?"
[Beheading]?
Bai Mo looked over, listening as Yu Tingting explained.
It turned out that for the Sword Immortal Path Sequence Eight, the content of cultivation mainly includes three swordsmanship techniques, naly [Throat Slitting], [Heart Extraction], and [Beheading]. Only upon completing all three swordsmanship techniques can one prepare for the promotion ritual.
"Why do these nas sound like improper swordsmanship?"
Yu Tingting pursed her lips.
"They were never proper in the first place.
"The so-called Sword Immortals, in the Ancient Immortal Dynasty, were just executioners. What else would executioners practice if not throat slitting and beheading?
"Could we really have the executioners practice Dugu Nine Swords?"
Everyone fell silent.
Before long, the materials departnt and more expert committee mbers arrived at the scene.
Wu Qingyun also arrived, dressed in bright red armor, wearing a bronze helt, with a longsword at her waist. She looked at the mound of corpses in the dead end, expressionless, and directly walked across the blood array map, bending down to carefully examine the wounds on the beheaded bodies.
The committee mbers and experts, including the materials departnt, stopped in their tracks at this sight, waiting for Wu Qingyun to finish her inspection.
"What is Committee mber Wu Qingyun examining?"
"Checking the enemy’s technique?"
"She’s a Sword Dao genius—her thought process is different from ours. Let’s let her go first."
Gradually, Bai Mo realized sothing was off.
Wu Qingyun, this fellow, was standing by the corpse mound, sotis examining severed necks and sotis looking at the flying heads. She didn’t seem to be studying the enemy but was rather posing, as though practicing swordsmanship.
She even unsheathed her longsword, gesturing beside the corpse mound, simulating the enemy’s actions. She was even making adjustnts at tis. She must be learning swordsmanship!
Is this... learning swordsmanship on the spot?
The atmosphere outside turned peculiar.
"Is she learning swordsmanship here?"
"Holy crap, starting to learn right here?"
"Does she not realize those bodies are soone’s parents, soone’s children?"
"Does she have no empathy?"
Beside Bai Mo, Yu Tingting’s face also turned white.
"She... this... I rember the Ancient Immortal Master said, practicing swordsmanship, cutting real people does yield the best results.
"She can’t cut real people, so learning directly from the scene where others did seems..."
Yu Tingting furrowed her brow, her voice growing quieter.
"...seems rather hard to accept."
Bai Mo and the White Gloves looked at the dead end, beside the mound of corpses, the girl swinging her sword and scattering flies. It was indeed hard to accept.
"Will the victims’ families not co here?
"If their families do arrive, I fear she might get beaten up."
Zhang Shan and Lu Yang also twitched the corners of their mouths.
