Row upon row of three-ter-high chanical devices operated thodically, the assembly line producing one boat-shaped chanical Sword Mantis after another. Compared to these, the blueprint Li Zheng had obtained earlier looked like a child's toy.
"Here, co."
The chanical Sword Mantis didn't turn back, instead heading straight for a device resembling a human modification table not far away. On the device lay a newly produced boat-shaped Sword Mantis, being scanned by dozens of laser beams for final adjustnts.
As they approached, the adjustnts on the Sword Mantis were just completed, and a few thick chanical arms appeared overhead, grabbing it and transporting it onto another conveyor belt to be sent to a different room.
"Lie down, get up."
The chanical Sword Mantis, adjusting the equipnt, spoke to Li Zheng without turning its head.
"Gulp~ Are you sure the examination won't be dangerous?" Li Zheng glanced at the devices around him emitting laser beams and the sharp-ended tools ant for calibrating Sword Mantis parts.
He had no doubt that if those things poked him, they would leave a bloody hole.
"No, it won't."
Having adjusted the equipnt, the chanical Sword Mantis' head rotated 180 degrees, gazing coldly at Li Zheng with its compound eyes.
Man is knife and at, I am the fish on the chopping block.
If I die, so be it!
Li Zheng hardened his resolve; after all, there was almost no way to resist here. Worrying was useless, so he might as well gamble that the other party truly ant no harm.
With a determined leap onto the equipnt, Li Zheng felt like a pig awaiting slaughter, voluntarily climbing onto the board.
Lying on the platform at its center, feeling the cold tallic surface beneath him, Li Zheng took a tense breath.
Good heavens, this feels even more like it!
"It might be a bit painful; bear with it."
At this mont, the chanical Sword Mantis clicked swiftly on the console with lightning speed.
Suddenly, an empty tal pipe appeared above Li Zheng, releasing a wisp of faint smoke.
Caught off guard, Li Zheng inhaled a couple of breaths, alard to find his body immobilized, while his senses beca more acute.
In his current state, he could even count how many grams of indentations had been made by past chanical adjustnts beneath the platform!
"You..."
He wanted to curse or say sothing to ease his unease, but the mont his mouth opened, his facial muscles froze.
With wide eyes and an open mouth, Li Zheng looked like a corpse refusing to rest in peace.
"Rest assured, this is a necessary asure to prevent you from moving during examination, ensuring data accuracy. It's not harmful to your body; in fact, it's beneficial." The ancient mind's voice ca from above, suddenly becoming smoother in speech, which was rather unsettling, "Consider it a reward for cooperating in gathering research data for my kind."
Li Zheng widened his eyes, feeling utterly helpless.
You're so considerate and even give rewards—should I thank you for this?
If I thought I could take you, I'd bash your head in!
Before his thoughts could stray further, two chanical arms approached near his temples.
In the next instant, at the tip of each chanical arm erged a sharp needle, swiftly and decisively penetrating into Li Zheng's brain.
Now Li Zheng understood what the so-called 'a bit painful' ant.
Wasn't this just brain surgery without anesthesia, with a shot of stimulant to keep you fully awake while you feel your brain being probed!
It was excruciating, yet he couldn't pass out...
And that wasn't even the most torturous part. After penetrating below the skull, Li Zheng could clearly sense sothing being released from the needle tips.
These substances crawled through his brain like countless ants, causing extre discomfort.
The next mont, an inexplicable rage surged within him, wishing he could grab a sword and fight the ancient mind head-on.
Might as well die!
Just then, as if the 'ants' found their target, they congregated in one area of his brain.
After a mont, his inner rage inexplicably dissipated rapidly, as if soone had doused him with a bucket of cold water, calming him down.
Not comprehending what happened, an overwhelming drowsiness took over, with a feeling that even if the world were ending, he wouldn't want to move a muscle.
Even his thoughts stalled montarily, seemingly repulsed by the act of thinking.
Let it all end already!
With that thought, Li Zheng 'blacked out'.
When he ca to, so of the 'ants' split off to another region of his brain.
This was just like the 'Wrath' and 'Sloth' from the Seven Deadly Sins!
Li Zheng realized that the ancient mind was using technological ans to stimulate his brain, eliciting seven emotions to collect data?
Before he could contemplate further, a scene suddenly appeared before his 'eyes'. It was Phoenix Mountain and Yan Guang with Yu Xiaoyu, chatting and laughing around a bonfire.
Damn it!
Why?!
Why does that Phoenix guy get to live a life surrounded by affection?
What makes him better than ?
Li Zheng couldn't help but wonder, what capabilities does this Phoenix have?
Both girls, one with extraordinary temperant, the other breathtakingly beautiful with a wealthy background—why would they fancy him?
Inexplicable!
Truly inexplicable!
The more he dwelled on it, the more he pondered.
