"Yes, boss." Kota rubbed the wound on his face. "We returned the items to him and told him we were quitting, but he turned hostile and demanded rent. If we didn't pay, he said he'd report us to the Law Enforcent Team, claiming we were robbers.
He's a public official, so if he reports it, the Law Enforcent Team would likely give him face and proceed officially."
The result of acting officially was that the only one exploiting them wasn't just Delta anymore, but both Delta and the Law Enforcent Team.
If the Law Enforcent Team didn't gain enough benefits from them, it wouldn't be surprising if the data of missing people suddenly increased that day, and so unidentified live organs appeared on the black market.
"So domineering?" Li Zheng rubbed his chin. "Besides being a public official, does Delta have any backing?"
"Yes." Kota, who grew up in District 902, was very clear about the distribution of power. "Delta isn't soone of high status himself, but his race has a widespread presence in District 902, almost in every industry, including all public positions."
"Boss..." Kota said hesitantly, "Maybe we should just let it go. We don't have a voice. Sotis being bullied is unavoidable, it's better than losing our lives."

"Boss..." Kota saw the direction and thought Li Zheng was going to cause trouble for Delta, quickly advising, "Let's just let this go. Although Delta may not be a top expert in the city, he has at least King Level overall strength, not to ntion he has a brother in the Law Enforcent Team, who recently broke through to Super Divine Level, becoming a real Basic Level expert."
The new boss does indeed have King Level Ability, but that doesn't an his overall strength is comparable to Delta's. Rember, the capacity of a bucket isn't determined by the tallest plank, but the shortest one.
Delta genuinely has King Level strength, not sothing Li Zheng's half-baked ability can match.
If Delta weren't exploiting them too harshly and there wasn't always a risk of being replaced for missions, Kota would never have casually switched jobs.
