Supre Staff was slightly taken aback.
It had originally intended to refuse Evelyn, but in the end, it chose silence instead.
The main reason it had selected Evelyn as its inheritor in the first place was because she possessed sothing noble mages lacked—a spirit that refused to admit defeat.
And so, for the first ti, Supre Staff began to wonder whether not every decision it made was truly correct.
Of course, its choice had been the most rational one.
But for Evelyn, it might also have been far too cruel.
With that thought in mind, Supre Staff decisively returned to Evelyn’s hand.
At this very mont, the people most worried in the entire arena were actually the staff responsible for maintaining the dueling platform.
Although the Runic Array engraved into the arena granted it defensive power far beyond the average star-grade standard, the strength of these two human awakeners was simply absurdly monstrous.
If any of that energy spilled out, the consequences would be disastrous.
The spectators in the stands were also worried about that exact issue.
"Do you think the defensive array can really withstand a fight between those two? What if it ends up hitting us in the stands?"
"Brother, that would actually be a great thing for us! Think about it—if we get injured in the Fallen Arena, wouldn’t we get a massive compensation payout? After all, the owner here probably wouldn’t want sothing so disgraceful being spread around everywhere!"
"No thanks. I’m not like you. I’m scared of dying. I’m not about to throw my life away for a few Mana Ore stones!"
At that mont, a Mind Demon spectator in the stands finally could not help speaking up.
"Enough. Relax, all of you. The defensive array may have been operating for a long ti, but it was personally designed by our sovereign, His Majesty Shaki. It’s not nearly as fragile as you think."
"Just focus on the match. A battle like this is absolutely worth the price of admission!"
After all, those concerned about safety were in the minority.
For the demon race, what truly mattered was whether there was blood and excitent.
Hearing the roar of the crowd around him, Caelan turned his gaze toward Evelyn.
He stroked his chin, a trace of teasing in his tone.
"How about... I just surrender and let you win?"
Back in the Instance, Caelan had owed Evelyn a favor. So he wanted to use this opportunity to repay it.
But Evelyn shook her head without the slightest hesitation.
"There’s no need to make it that complicated. We’ll just stop at the point of exchange."
At that mont, Evelyn’s eyes were filled with seriousness, forming a sharp contrast to her usual image as Caelan’s little fangirl.
Although Evelyn’s personality was not especially domineering, once she truly entered battle mode, she beca exceptionally calm and rational.
"Co on. I’m ready!"
In the next instant, the Supre Staff in her hand burst forth with dazzling light.
The mont Mind Demon King Shaki sensed that fluctuation of magic power, his eyes widened in astonishnt.
"This magic fluctuation... it’s unbelievably pure!"
"I never imagined that in this era, I would still encounter such pure magical energy!"
Just as everyone assud Evelyn was about to unleash a skill, she suddenly threw the Supre Staff from her hand instead.
In the next mont, Supre Staff was flung high into the air, then began circling overhead at an utterly inconceivable speed.
In the blink of an eye, the orderly fluctuations of magic power instantly turned into a raging magic maelstrom.
That violent energy even tore open a number of tiny spatial cracks across the dueling platform!
When the audience saw this, their eyes widened in shock.
"No way?? It even tore space apart—just how powerful is that skill exactly?!"
The spectators in the stands had clearly watched more than their fair share of duels, yet a scene like this—one capable of ripping space itself—was sothing they had never witnessed before.
Powerful.
It was simply too powerful.
So powerful that it practically defied limits!!
[Mana Ignition and Extinction]!
In the next instant, the surrounding magic maelstrom completely swallowed the figures of Evelyn and Caelan.
The violent magical energy plunged the entire dueling platform into chaos in a single mont. Even the most powerful detection spells had no chance of seeing what was happening inside the arena.
The audience in the stands had never experienced anything like this before.
To them, those surging waves of magic felt like a sandstorm, battering their faces over and over again until it stung painfully.
"Can soone tell what’s going on in the arena right now?!"
"Who won? Did Caelan launch a counterattack or not?!"
"Stop asking! I can’t see anything! Even my Awakening Skill’s detection spell is being disrupted—I can’t detect a thing!"
Just as the spectators were frantic with anxiety, desperate to know the result of the match, the violently raging energy suddenly vanished without a trace in the very next mont!
In the blink of an eye, the dueling platform fell silent once more.
There were no energy fluctuations, and not even the slightest sign of destruction. It was as if nothing at all had happened just now!
If not for the fact that every magic elent within a five-kiloter radius had been completely drained away, everyone might have believed that what had just occurred was rely an illusion.
It was then that soone suddenly noticed the change on the dueling platform.
"Look! Those two human contestants—why have they both disappeared?!"
Hearing that, the spectators imdiately turned their eyes toward the arena.
And in the next instant, every last one of them froze in shock.
The entire dueling platform was empty.
There was not the slightest trace left behind by Caelan or Evelyn.
"Spatial magic?"
A faint tremor stirred in the heart of the Mind Demon King.
Among the demon race, the Mind Demon clan was the rarest of pure mage races, making them extraordinarily special even within the larger demon-race system.
And yet, from beginning to end, no one had ever dared to underestimate the strength of the Mind Demon clan.
After all, for most demon races, their weakness lay in magic-type skills.
But the Mind Demon clan was the exact opposite.
Even so, the spatial magic before him still caused a look of deep curiosity to appear on Mind Demon King Shaki’s face.
As a magic-type awakener—and a true lover of magic—Shaki’s understanding of magic skills ran deeper than that of most people.
And because of that, he knew perfectly well just how extraordinary it was to master spatial magic.
For Evelyn, who had only just reached adulthood, to already be capable of using spatial magic—
that was the mark of a true genius.
Up in the stands, the audience finally snapped out of their brief daze.
Staring at the empty dueling platform, they cried out in astonishnt:
"Where are they?? How did they disappear?!"
