According to ancient historical records, every independent world was ho to an imnsely powerful existence known as its Sovereign.
These beings possessed authority over the entire world, yet they would never show themselves lightly.
To be precise, aside from the Lord of the Abyss, the Sovereigns of all other worlds had never appeared before anyone.
But Caelan knew that these Sovereigns were no re legends.
They truly existed.
Take the Sovereign of the [Void Frontier], Ranni, for example. Caelan was almost certain that both [Legendary Adventure] and [Deathborn Paradise] were masterpieces created by her hand.
Unfortunately, he had absolutely no idea how to find this Sovereign nad Ranni.
Judging from the astonishing simulation abilities displayed by [Legendary Adventure], Caelan believed that Sovereign Ranni might very well possess a way to help Kate.
While Caelan was lost in thought, Kate had already beco fast friends with Talia and the brothers and sisters gathered around her.
Kate had always possessed a cheerful, outgoing personality to begin with. Coupled with Talia’s overwhelming enthusiasm, it only took a mont for Kate to develop a powerful sense of belonging toward the Ironclad Legion.
Before long, the group arrived at the banquet hall.
Waiting outside the hall were Caesar and Orlando, who had arrived long before them.
As two of the very few people who knew Kate’s true identity, Caesar and Orlando appeared calm when they saw her approach, but inwardly, they were shocked beyond belief.
The current Kate looked almost exactly like Caelan’s mother, as though the two had been carved from the very sa mold!
For a mont, both Caesar and Orlando fell into a daze.
Orlando in particular found himself deeply shaken at the sight of Kate. Even though he did everything he could to restrain his emotions, tears still glimred in his eyes.
For a fleeting mont, it was as though he were looking at his beloved daughter once again.
"Ahem. All right, the rest of you may leave now."
Caesar cleared his throat. At the sa ti, his words arrived at precisely the right mont to help Orlando pull himself back from his grief.
Orlando was montarily startled, but he quickly collected himself.
Both he and Caesar understood perfectly well that the conversation to co would be extrely important.
Everything they had arranged earlier had been done so that Kate would feel a stronger sense of belonging toward the Ironclad Legion. Judging from her reaction, they had successfully achieved that goal.
"My child, welco ho!"
Caesar took a deep breath before giving Kate a huge embrace.
Orlando followed imdiately afterward. He wrapped his arms around Kate as well, his voice carrying a faint tremble of emotion.
"Good child, you truly look just like your mother. You may not know this, but she was my most beloved daughter."
"As for what happened back then, please do not bla her. She was wounded, and there was no way for her to give birth to both of you at the sa ti. Your brother rely ca out first. By the ti it was your turn, it was already too late..."
By the ti he reached this point, tears had already begun streaming uncontrollably down Orlando’s face.
As an old father, no one understood better than him just how unbearable it was to outlive one’s own child.
Seeing her maternal grandfather in such pain, Kate was unable to hold back any longer either. Tears began falling from her eyes as well.
Just as the sorrowful atmosphere continued to spread, Caelan, standing nearby, suddenly raised a question.
"Grandfather, Grandpa Orlando, since both of you know everything that happened, can you tell who exactly hurt our mother back then?"
Hearing his words, Kate wiped away her tears as well. An intense killing intent flickered openly in her eyes.
"That’s right. Please tell us. We will make whoever hard her repay that blood debt in full!"
Seeing the grave expressions on Caelan’s and Kate’s faces, Caesar and Orlando exchanged gratified looks.
The fact that these two children were constantly thinking about avenging their mother was proof enough of their devotion to her.
"You do not need to trouble yourselves over that anymore. The bastard who injured your mother back then is already dead."
As Orlando spoke, a savage glint flashed through his eyes.
Within the World of Myriad Races, a war involving all races would erupt once every thirty years.
Back then, the White Bear Race had been extraordinarily powerful. In fact, they had even begun to show signs of being able to contend with the Titan Race on equal footing.
At the ti, the White Bear Race had been the number one enforcer under the command of the elves. Not only were they unbearably arrogant, they also shared a deep grudge with the Titan Race.
Later on, for reasons unknown, the Titan Race and the Elf Race secretly chose to join forces. At the sa ti, they delivered an epic-grade backstab to the White Bear Race.
Ever since that incident, the White Bear Race had never recovered from its fall and had gradually been reduced to a second-rate race.
Even so, their strength had still been steadily increasing over the years.
Speaking of which, the reason Caelan’s mother had been injured back then was precisely because of the War of Myriad Races.
At the final mont of that war, no one knew why, but the White Bear Race suddenly united with the Elf Race and several other major races to launch a surprise attack against humanity.
It was during that battle that Caelan’s mother suffered such grievous injuries.
However, it was also because of her presence that humanity ultimately managed to defeat the White Bear Race’s surprise assault and complete the War of Myriad Races, securing second place that year.
From that mont onward, humanity’s developnt had been like an accelerator welded to the floor. Their rise could only be described as explosive.
Even now, when compared to the mighty Elf Race, humanity’s overall strength had already reached a level where they were essentially capable of confronting them as equals.
After learning of this little-known secret from the past, Orlando suddenly looked toward Kate and asked in a worried tone, "No matter what, Kate currently exists in the form of a Mirror Image. So what do the two of you plan to do? Is there any way to allow this child to live like an ordinary person?"
Orlando’s concern was exactly the sa as Caesar’s.
In their hearts, Kate was no longer rely a Mirror Image.
Instead, she felt far more like a family mber who had been lost to them for many years, only to finally return ho.
Precisely because of that, neither Caesar nor Orlando wished to see Kate disappear once Caelan completed his mission.
While the two of them sank into deep thought, Kate took the initiative to speak with a smile.
"Grandfather, Grandpa Orlando, you don’t need to worry. I have actually already thought this through."
"If there really is no solution for the ti being, then I will first help my brother deal with those troubleso enemies. Afterward, I will obediently return to being his shadow."
"I believe that once my brother becos powerful enough, he will definitely find a way!"
Orlando shook his head at Kate’s words, clearly disagreeing with her decision.
"I think we should still try to find a better solution, if one exists."
At that very mont, Caelan suddenly rembered the [Wax Effigy Core] he had obtained from the [Killing Grounds].
[Wax Effigy Core]
[Description: A special Wax Effigy Core. After use, it can transform into any material or item you require.]
In that case...
Could he ask the [Wax Effigy Core] to transform into an item capable of resurrecting his younger sister?
