On the Snowshadow Plain, an ancient fortress of ice and snow stood firm amid the raging blizzard.
It was one of the Titan Race’s thirty-two strongholds—and also the one closest to human territory.
At this very mont, inside the conference hall at the topmost floor of the castle, a large number of Titan executives had gathered.
"How are things on Dark Titan’s side?" the commander demanded. "Have we broken into the humans’ Frostguard City yet?"
The commander was a middle-aged Titan with a trimd beard. His gaze was icy as it swept across everyone present.
Just then, an intelligence officer wearing glasses spoke up, trembling.
"Commander... I’m afraid we’ve run into trouble."
"After Dark Titan lost control, his bodily functions rapidly declined as well. Our resurrection plan... has failed completely."
The instant he heard that report, the commander slamd his palm down onto the conference table.
"Useless! All of you are useless!"
"It took us forever to find a lead connected to Dark Titan. And to secure that corpse, we paid an enormous price."
"And now you’re telling you ruined it?" His voice rose, sharp with fury. "If you can’t give a reasonable explanation, you’ll be hauled before a military tribunal!"
At that, the commander paused, then turned his gaze toward the scholarly delegation.
"And you scholars," he said coldly. "Do you think you can just wipe your hands clean once the plan fails?"
"Have you made any progress in your research on Dark Titan? And why is an Awakened this powerful... a human, instead of soone from our Titan Race?!"
The mbers of the scholarly delegation all lowered their heads, not daring to et the commander’s eyes.
In truth, the commander’s question was exactly what they were researching.
By all logic, the class Dark Titan should have awakened within the Titan Race.
Yet reality was that ten thousand years ago, a human had beco the Dark Titan!
At that mont, one of the elderly Titan scholars finally spoke.
"Commander, I believe our research has not been aningless. Though the first phase of the resurrection plan failed, I’m certain we left a deep impression on the humans."
"Moreover, we have discovered the secret behind how Dark Titan preserved his physical body. According to our findings... it seems related to a piece of equipnt."
"It is precisely because we lacked this [Sacred Armor] that our resurrection plan fell short at the final step."
"So I believe that at this stage, not only should we avoid cutting research funding—we should increase it, and accelerate the conversion of results into practical outcos."
As he spoke, the elderly scholar took out a docunt from his desk and handed it to the commander.
"Commander, this is the second phase of the Dark Titan resurrection plan that we drafted together."
"Although we have lost Dark Titan’s body, cellular activity still remains. If we can find the [Sacred Armor], we may still have a chance... to bring Dark Titan back to life."
The commander’s expression remained calm. The proposal for a second phase didn’t move him in the slightest.
"My objective is only one," he said flatly. "To ensure the Dark Titan class is inherited by our Titan Race."
"As for Dark Titan himself... he’s nothing but a human. Whether he lives or dies has nothing to do with ."
The elderly scholar nodded, though inwardly he let out a quiet sigh of relief.
Good—this ti, he’d gambled correctly. Otherwise, the trouble would have been enormous.
"Commander, please rest assured. This ti, I will send my most trusted apprentice to personally go into human territory and collect data."
"Oliver—don’t disappoint ."

At the front-line camp, Caelan’s unbelievable feat had already earned him the admiration of everyone present.
After all, even an idiot could see it: if Caelan hadn’t turned the tide just now, they likely would have all died here.
Even the elites of the Ironclad Legion had been at their wits’ end against Orn—let alone that even more terrifying Titan monster that appeared afterward.
"Caelan, you’re incredible!"

As the crowd chattered excitedly, Alyssa suddenly stepped forward—bold and unreserved—straight up to Caelan.
Then she reached out, grabbed him by the hand, and pulled him off to the side.
"Caelan," she said, "I want to talk to you alone."
Seeing Alyssa take the initiative, the entire camp imdiately erupted with the sound of hearts shattering.
Was Alyssa... captivated by Caelan?
Good heavens. It was unbelievably enviable!
If only I were that strong... how great would that be?
Compared to the boys beating their chests in despair, the girls’ reactions were even more starry-eyed.
"Caelan is so romantic! Confessing in the middle of a battle scene!"
"Do you think Alyssa will say yes? I’m so moved my legs are going weak!"
"Alyssa’s status is... kind of special. But who knows? I ship them!"

anwhile, Caelan followed Alyssa out of the front-line camp, into a small grove of trees nearby.
But before Caelan could even speak, Alyssa spoke first.
"Caelan," she said, "take my advice. You have excellent talent, so you shouldn’t keep wasting your thoughts on ."
"There’s no possibility between us. Besides... I’m not interested in n at all."
"I’m truly sorry—but I still hope you can pull yourself together."
Alyssa’s words were a blunt, straightforward rejection.
She had no intention of dating right now. She only wanted to devote herself entirely to improving her strength.
And Caelan was a rare genius—Alyssa couldn’t bear to ruin him. That was why she chose to co forward and make things clear.
In that instant, the boys whose hearts had just shattered felt them stitch back together again.
When they looked at Caelan, there was even a hint of sympathy in their eyes.
Thinking about it... Caelan really was kind of pitiful.
And yet, Caelan himself—the person involved—looked completely dumbfounded.
"Wait... what are you talking about?"
Caelan frowned, his face full of confusion.
He’d been thinking about his class mutation quest and hadn’t paid any attention to what was happening around him.
Then Alyssa suddenly dragged him away and said a bunch of inexplicable things—what on earth did she an?
But Caelan quickly realized it.
Alyssa... seed to have misunderstood him.
He was about to explain, when Alyssa spoke again.
"You’re not going to keep pestering , are you?"
