“Ning Fan, weren’t you supposed to…”
At this mont, Daisylin recalled her previous doubts.
It was just over a night, Ning Fan returned already, so fast it felt unreal.
“I went to that place.”
Ning Fan laughed again, “That guy was bragging. It’s not as terrifying as he said, just an ordinary village with nothing inside.”
“But didn’t he say…”
“No. I asked the villagers, and none of them recognized that guy.”
Watching Ning Fan interrupt her repeatedly, Daisylin was convinced that Ning Fan was lying about this, and his words had many loopholes.
Jinshan Corner is a place with many ethnic groups and complex languages; Ning Fan doesn’t even understand Thai, yet he claid to have asked everyone in the village, which was the biggest flaw.
“Maybe there’s sothing he can’t tell.”
Though she didn’t understand Ning Fan’s predicant, a smart woman wouldn’t dig too deep.
So the clever Daisylin simply asked the final question, “Does this an that this matter is over?”
“Exactly. Everything is settled, and nothing will change in the future.”
Holding Nannan in her arms, how could Ning Fan reveal the truth, or it would terrify her.
No matter how adorable and sensible Nannan was, most people pushed away in fear upon knowing her identity.
This isn’t indifference but a natural human reaction.
Because of this, Barson didn’t even dare let Ning Fan see Nannan’s true form.
“That’s good.”
Daisylin nodded. She initially considered secretly sending soone to investigate, but since Ning Fan said so, she completely abandoned this idea.
Even though she knew Ning Fan was lying, Daisylin instinctively wanted to trust him.
“Recently, I haven’t taken care of you well, nor shown you the sights of Tai Kingdom. It’s perfect these three days; I’ll host you and show you around.”
Daisylin proactively extended an invitation, then asked Ning Ping, “Nannan, would you like your sister to take you out for fun? Is that okay?”
“Yes! Nannan wants to eat lots and lots of ice cream.”
As she spoke, Ning Ping stretched out her tender arm, drawing a circle with it.
Her adorable gesture made Daisylin instantly delighted.
But noticing Ning Fan’s silence, Daisylin suddenly felt a pang of disappointnt, “Ning Fan, is there sothing wrong with this plan?”
“I’m afraid it might delay your plans.”
“What do I have but being a bird in a gilded cage.”
Daisylin laughed at herself, then jokingly said, “I was afraid you wouldn’t want to.”
“Not at all. Having Princess herself as our guide is a blessing for us siblings.”
Actually, Ning Fan was reluctant to travel with Daisylin.
Not for any other reason.
The problem lay with Ning Ping; although he knew she was just like any normal child.
But, as ti was still short, Ning Fan feared there were undiscovered issues.
By then, with Daisylin around, things would only get more complicated.
However, since Daisylin has spoken this much, if Ning Fan continues to refuse, it would seem unkind.
Daisylin happily said, “Then it’s settled. Once the information is collected today, we’ll set off tomorrow.”
“Thank you in advance.”
As he spoke, Ning Fan furrowed his brow slightly, noticing urgent footsteps from outside.
When the person approached, sensing the aura among them, Ning Fan couldn’t help but pat his forehead.
“What’s wrong? Are you feeling unwell?”
“It’s nothing.”
Ning Fan smiled wryly; amidst trouble, feeling comfortable would indeed be odd.
While Daisylin was puzzled, her ears twitched slightly, and soon she heard the sound of clacking heels.
“Could it be Rose?”
The doubt in her heart flashed away as Daisylin looked toward the door, where Rose’s figure appeared.
“Didn’t Rose say she wouldn’t co?”
Daisylin wondered privately, her pupils shrinking; she observed closely and noticed sothing unusual about Rose.
Rose had put on makeup. But not the kind for eting guests as a formality.
Instead, she had dressed herself ticulously, looking radiant and dazzling, as if attending a major event.
“Could it be between the two of them…”
Suspiciously glancing at Ning Fan, Daisylin couldn’t help but chuckle inwardly.
With her keen hearing, she could hear Rose’s arrival, while Ning Fan pretended not to.
Seeing Ning Fan feign focus on Nannan, Daisylin couldn’t help but stop laughing at certain thoughts.
Unless sothing happened between the two, Ning Fan had no reason to avoid.
Between a man and a woman, whether it’s good or bad, it serves as so kind of opportunity, better than being uneventful.
In this aspect, Daisylin knew she was outmatched.
Standing at the door, Rose instantly spotted Ning Fan, her anger flaring within.
“Still pretending here.”
Rose gritted her teeth, suppressing her displeasure, feigning surprise, saying, “Cousin, so you’re here.”
“You’ve co, cousin.”
Daisylin withdrew her thoughts and stood up to remind Ning Fan, “Ning Fan, Miss Rose is here.”
“Oh. Has Miss Rose recovered from her illness? That’s wonderful news.”
Watching Ning Fan’s exaggerated performance, Daisylin secretly mused, but outwardly expressed relief, “She recovered just recently.”
Rose said with a forced smile, “Manager Ning, thank you for your concern; you even made a special trip to Tai Kingdom for it.”
Ning Fan replied blandly, “Not at all. This was all arranged by the company.”
Hearing this, Rose was infuriated.
Ning Fan was clearly implying that, if not for work, he wouldn’t have co here.
Seeing everything unfold, Daisylin feigned ignorance and said, “Cousin, your health hasn’t recovered fully yet. You should return to your room and rest.”
“I’m much better.”
As she spoke, Rose gracefully sat down, then asked, “What were you discussing just now?”
“Nothing much. I was explaining your illness to Ning Fan…”
Suddenly, Ning Ping’s childlike voice rang out, “Pretty big sister said she would take us to eat sothing delicious.”
Upon finishing, Ning Ping exclaid, “Another pretty big sister.”
Only then did Rose notice Ning Ping, asking suspiciously, “Who’s this little girl? She wouldn’t be your illegitimate daughter, would she?”
Hearing that, Ning Fan nearly choked on his own spit.
“That damn Rose, if she doesn’t try pinning nonsense on for a day, she won’t rest.”
Feeling frustrated, Ning Fan grumbled unhappily, “She’s my sister.”
Rose sneered, “Since when did you have a sister?”
Through Xu Xiaoqing, Rose assud she knew plenty about Ning Fan, not realizing she had a cut-down version.
“The little girl is nad Ning Ping; she really is Ning Fan’s sister.”
As Daisylin spoke, she explained what had just happened.
In Daisylin’s view, Ning Fan’s actions showed his good nature and kindness.
But in the eyes of soone prejudiced, it was entirely different.
