Mary had already noticed that Vivian's gaze never left the rings worn by passersby.
"No, it's not."
"That's good."
Mary sighed with relief; she was worried that Vivian would beco too obsessed with these pieces of jewelry and stray from the right path.
Vivian, being such a young and beautiful girl, was most susceptible to external temptations.
"Besides diamonds, gemstones, gold coins are my favorites too."
Vivian mused, "My biggest dream in life is to sleep lying on these treasures."
Mary was stunned, instinctively imagining a bed made of diamonds, gems, and gold.
Mary let out an awkward laugh, "I think that might be a bit difficult."
Ning Fan sneered, "Difficult is an understatent; it's pure fantasy."
Mary had never seen Vivian's true intentions, but Ning Fan had, and even with his financial resources, fulfilling her wish would still be challenging.
Vivian gently probed, "It's not hard at all. There's an easy way."
"Mary, your good friend here is thinking about resorting to robbery again, aren't you going to talk so sense into her?"
"Vivian, your thinking is very dangerous..."
While Mary was lecturing, Ning Fan was looking all over the streets for a gambling house.
It wasn't long before they spotted a luxurious hotel.
"Let's go here."
"Ning Fan, maybe we should reconsider. This is The Venetian after all."
Mary hesitated, "Considering what we have on us..."
"Don't worry. It's not like we don't have money, right?"
"Is it enough?"
Looking at the crumpled ten-dollar bill, Mary thought it would be better spent on so donuts for Vivian to enjoy.
"Of course, it's enough."
Noticing the mocking glances from passersby, Ning Fan shook his head, "I'm just worried we won't be able to get in."
Soon enough, Ning Fan realized his worries were unnecessary.
The casino was a place of open business, where people from all walks of life ca and went.
Even though Ning Fan and Vivian were dressed poorly, it wasn't as if they would be denied entry for "inappropriate attire."
Under the watchful eyes of several burly security guards, the three of them walked into The Venetian Hotel.
Large casinos in Las Vegas are like this, with the casino on the ground floor and the hotel above.
They entered the casino safely, but a problem quickly arose, a big problem.
At the chip exchange, a pretty blonde accountant smiled, "Sorry, the minimum denomination for our chips here is twenty US dollars."
Having worked here for so long, the accountant had seen many destitute gamblers.
At least this guest had a whole small bill, which was much better than those carrying around scattered cents like the holess.
Ning Fan was not angry; this was the casino's rule, and the other party was not deliberately making things difficult for him due to his destitution.
Mary said awkwardly, "We should just leave!"
Ning Fan could take it calmly, but Mary couldn't bear it; the scornful and mocking gazes from the gamblers waiting to exchange chips around them were glaring like a struggle.
"Let's find another place."
Ning Fan was sowhat helpless; it was his first ti encountering a problem due to lack of money.
At that mont, a loud laugh rang out, "Two beauties, what a coincidence."
"It really is a coincidence."
Seeing the bald man puffing away, Ning Fan hadn't expected his premonition to co true so quickly.
Mary turned her head aside, not wanting to provoke such people.
As for Vivian, she fixed her gaze on Ning Fan, hoping for his cue, as she had long coveted the rings on the bald man's hand, with each gemstone the size of a pigeon egg.
"Let's go."
Mary called out, having wanted to leave for so ti.
"Don't be in such a hurry to leave, beautiful."
With those words, four bodyguards lined up behind the bald man, blocking the way.
"Sigh!"
Ning Fan sighed, then said gently, "Could you please let us through?"
For Ning Fan, this kind of petty provocation was beneath him.
To get into a fight would not only be dirtying his hands but also losing face; it was all about the level.
But that didn't an Ning Fan had no temper. If the bald man continued to court death, then...
Ning Fan wouldn't hesitate, kill if needed! He wouldn't revel in the thrill of retribution, nor would he be weighed down by the loss of life, like swatting a botherso fly.
Vivian said coldly, "Move aside, you disgusting bug."
She thought the sa as Ning Fan, even more so.
In Vivian's eyes, only Mary and Ning Fan were considered people; as for others... no, rather, other bugs.
Bugs are just bugs, insignificant existences.
"Hey, what a feisty little beauty." The bald man sneered, a fierce look flashing in his eyes before he laughed, "You guys want to go in and play? Short on chips?"
Before Ning Fan could reply, the bald man waved his hand, and a bodyguard ca forward with a black briefcase.
The bald man glanced at Vivian again, nodded silently, and then said warmly, "Let's make friends, you take fifty thousand to play; if you need more, co find ."
The boss spoke, and the experienced bodyguard took out fifty thousand US dollars and went to the chip exchange.
He then handed over the exchanged chips, along with a business card.
Seeing this scene, the girl next to the bald man flashed a trace of jealousy in her eyes.
"No need. We're leaving."
Mary pulled Vivian, intending to leave, knowing well that the bald man harbored ill intentions towards Vivian and even herself.
"This bald guy isn't simple. At least he's not a brainless one."
Even Ning Fan had a newfound respect for the bald man.
Luring soone into trouble is easy; just pander to their interests and then deliver a devastating blow at the crucial mont; any goal can be easily achieved.
And a casino is the perfect place to destroy soone ntally.
The bald man only provided chips instead of cash, and they were in five large denominations, for this very reason.
Ning Fan, who had even gambled with ten dollars here, certainly left the impression of a seasoned gambler to the outside world.
And as casinos are places where the house always wins, once these five chips are lost, what does a desperate gambler do?
Of course, he'd find every way possible to gather more gambling funds, naturally driving him to seek the bald man.
The sche the bald man played was essentially akin to a high-interest loan, except he wasn't after money, but won.
As for whether Ning Fan would take the chips and try to cash them out...
Ning Fan could bet that if he took one step out, the bald man's bodyguards would follow imdiately.
"Since this gentleman is so generous, I only need ten dollars."
"Ning Fan, you..."
Mary never expected Ning Fan to say that.
"It's not a problem."
Ning Fan smiled faintly, "Refusing soone's kindness isn't gentlemanly behavior."
"Indeed. The young man is quite right."
The bald man blew out a puff of blue smoke and then laughed, "You must be joking."
"I'm not joking. I just need an entry ticket."
