Chapter 917: Chapter 906: Ayu’s Concerns

“So, you agreed to his terms?”

Ning Fan had just received a call from Chen Fengnan. He already knew that Teng Yunge had been to Chen Fengnan’s place.

It had been over two hours since Teng Yunge had left Chen Fengnan, and Chen Fengnan made sure to contact Ning Fan right away.

Upon hearing about Teng Yunge’s proposal for cooperation from Chen Fengnan, Ning Fan couldn’t hold back a cold laugh.

“That Teng Yunge is still as scheming as ever. But if he wants to play gas, then we’ll let him play. Just go ahead with the cooperation; after all, it’d be foolish not to take advantage of an opportunity!”

Ning Fan chuckled. He was not worried about Chen Fengnan siding with Teng Yunge. After spending so much ti with him, Ning Fan was confident that he understood Chen Fengnan better than Teng Yunge ever could.

His goal was to make Teng Yunge realize that from the very beginning, his calculations were off. This ti, he would only end up losing more than he’d bargained for!

“Mr. Ning, are you sure you want to collaborate with Teng Yunge?”

Chen Fengnan’s voice revealed a hesitation—clearly, there were still many doubts lingering in his mind about this.

Ning Fan reassured him, “Don’t be afraid. Although Teng Yunge is a dangerous individual, he’s also incredibly stubborn. As his partner, he won’t target you behind your back.”

“But what about the Mingwang Pavilion situation afterward? I don’t believe he doesn’t care about it!”

It was well known that Chen Fengnan had clashed with Mingwang Pavilion previously. Could it be that Teng Yunge had conveniently forgotten about that?

Impossible. The Mingwang Pavilion issue had caused such a stir, and Teng Yunge had lost face over it. To be precise, Umbrella’s reputation had taken a hit because of it. There was no way Teng Yunge would let it slide so easily.

“Relax. Since you’re cooperating, there’s no chance Teng Yunge will launch any attacks against you.”

Ning Fan said with a bitter laugh. If he hadn’t lived through such scenarios himself, even he might struggle to believe his own words.

Teng Yunge’s stubbornness ca hand-in-hand with his arrogance, which was precisely why Ning Fan was certain he wouldn’t secretly move against Chen Fengnan after their partnership began.

“…So, you’re saying I should agree to this deal?”

Chen Fengnan asked, baffled, his emotions conflicted.

In theory, Teng Yunge was their enemy, yet now they were expected to work together. What kind of situation was this?

Moreover, Teng Yunge’s intentions were far from simple. He clearly wasn’t coming here just to make friends with Chen Fengnan.

It was hard to guess what Teng Yunge had been plotting in the days following his fallout with Ning Fan. Only Teng Yunge himself would know.

“Agree to it. Like I said, it’s foolish to pass up an advantage. You could even take the chance to squeeze so extra benefits out of him—it’s worth considering!”

Ning Fan seed unworried and began encouraging Chen Fengnan to work with their enemy.

Hearing Ning Fan’s words, Chen Fengnan could only laugh bitterly and asked, “You’re really not worried that I’ll take Teng Yunge’s side instead?”

This was precisely why Chen Fengnan had contacted Ning Fan imdiately after eting Teng Yunge. He wanted to ensure Ning Fan wouldn’t misunderstand his intentions regarding their relationship.

Ning Fan burst into hearty laughter upon hearing this and said, “You’re my friend. If I don’t trust you, who am I supposed to trust?”

That one sentence imdiately brushed away any lingering concerns Chen Fengnan might have had.

After discussing so details, the two ended the call shortly after.

Back at Chen Fengnan’s estate, the atmosphere was unusually bleak, almost as if Teng Yunge’s earlier visit had left a lasting shadow. The place felt lifeless, reflecting the heavy pressure Teng Yunge’s presence had brought upon them.

“Mr. Chen, are you really going to agree to collaborate with Teng Yunge?”

A’Yu stood behind Chen Fengnan. Two hours ago, he had dismissed all his staff, leaving his eting with Teng Yunge shrouded in mystery. No one else knew exactly what had been discussed.

But A’Yu had a gut feeling that whatever Chen Fengnan and Teng Yunge talked about had to be sothing serious. Especially since Teng Yunge, by all appearances, didn’t seem like a good person—word had it he was even an enemy of Ning Fan.

Thus, when Chen Fengnan finally had so downti, A’Yu took the opportunity to ask him about the matter.

Chen Fengnan looked back at A’Yu, seemingly unperturbed by his concerns, and replied casually, “That’s right. I’ve decided to collaborate with Teng Yunge. This matter doesn’t require any further worry. When you see Teng Yunge next, there’s no need to be as tense as today.”

He didn’t fully elaborate. While there wasn’t a need for the extre anxiety of today, caution was still essential. After all, Teng Yunge wasn’t any re character—he was Umbrella’s top-ranking figure.

But A’Yu was in complete shock. Chen Fengnan had really chosen to work with Teng Yunge, a decision that rattled her deeply.

For a mont, A’Yu even wanted to confront Chen Fengnan and ask him why. Could he truly ignore the adversarial relationship between Teng Yunge and Ning Fan?

Yet, upon reminding herself of her position, she swallowed her words. Instead, she was left to speculate in silence about what the future might hold.

“A’Yu?”

“Ah… Yes, Mr. Chen, what is it?”

“You seem distracted. Since earlier, you’ve been acting oddly, lost in thought…”

Monts ago, A’Yu had appeared almost completely absent-minded. Chen Fengnan had called out to her several tis, but she had only just reacted.

Chen Fengnan regarded her with confusion, while A’Yu lowered her head, apologetic, and responded, “I’m sorry, sir. I was spacing out…”

“It looks like you’re exhausted. Leave your responsibilities to A’Feng for now—take so ti to rest.”

Chen Fengnan lightly patted A’Yu on the shoulder. Assuming her distraction stemd from weariness, he kindly suggested that she take a break.

A’Yu nodded, her eyes betraying a mix of emotions, as she secretly wondered whether to share all this with Ning Fan. After all, wasn’t Chen Fengnan her true employer?

“…It seems I really do need so rest.”

A’Yu sighed deeply. She genuinely had no idea whether Chen Fengnan’s decision to cooperate with Teng Yunge would be good or bad. What outcos this move might bring was sothing no one could foresee.

The city of Zhonghai appeared serene on the surface, yet those with sharp instincts could detect the undercurrents beneath. An impending storm was brewing.

“The storm is gathering, and the winds are rising!”

Looking toward the horizon, A’Yu murmured.

At that mont, A’Feng approached, catching her words by chance.

“What’s going on? What’s happened?”

A’Feng asked curiously, sensing an unusual gravity in her tone.
