Chapter 944: Chapter 933: It’s Actually Huo Yunkuang
A man walked in, looking young and seemingly around the sa age as Ning Fan and his group. He glanced around in shock, flas of anger burning in his eyes.
“What’s going on? What the hell happened here?!”
The man roared furiously. He had only left for a short while, yet the company had turned into this ss. Who on earth had co here to stir up trouble?!
When Ning Fan saw the man, he froze for a mont, then smirked and said, “Well, look who it is!”
Ning Fan recognized this man; he was an old acquaintance.
At the sa ti, Gilded Fang saw the man and hurriedly shouted, “Boss, it’s them! It’s them who ca to make trouble. It’s all their doing!”
Upon hearing this, the man imdiately turned to look in Ning Fan’s direction.
That glance was enough—when he saw that the person mildly smiling at him was Ning Fan, his face changed drastically. He stumbled as if he were about to collapse.
“It-it-it-it… it’s you!”
The man stared at Ning Fan in terror. How could it be him?!
He instinctively lowered his head, like a mouse encountering a cat.
anwhile, Gilded Fang froze as well. Sothing felt off—the boss was this scared of Ning Fan?!
Instantly, Gilded Fang’s face turned pale, and he almost fainted from fright. This ti, it seed like they had really ssed with the wrong person!
Even Little Eight looked curious—Ning Fan actually knew the boss of a loan shark business? What exactly was going on here?
At this mont, Ning Fan stood up, carefully scrutinized the man, then shook his head and sighed, “Huo Yunkuang, I didn’t expect we’d et again. Look at you now—what a sorry state!”
That man was Huo Yunkuang, the sa Huo Yunkuang whose leg Ning Fan had once broken in person. It never occurred to him that Huo Yunkuang had now taken up the role of a loan shark.
Hearing Ning Fan’s voice, Huo Yunkuang realized he was truly dood this ti. Of all people to provoke, his subordinates had gone and ssed with Ning Fan! He was beyond appalled—what kind of imbeciles would make such a colossal mistake?
Huo Yunkuang felt utterly miserable. He had clashed with Ning Fan before, and the result was a broken leg. Now he had sunk so low as to beco a loan shark, but his worst fear—running into Ning Fan again—had co true, and this encounter was far from pleasant…
“Master Ning, it’s really you! Long ti no see. If you were coming here as a guest, why didn’t you give a heads-up?” Huo Yunkuang imdiately put on a fawning smile, channeling the energy of a bootlicker as he rushed over to Ning Fan.
Ning Fan let out a cold laugh. “Cut it out. I didn’t know this was your place, Huo Yunkuang. Today, I’m here to demand justice for my brother!”
Upon hearing this, Huo Yunkuang’s heart sank. He glanced at Little Eight, who was standing beside Ning Fan, and instantly pieced together what had happened.
Dammit, his loan-sharking business had sohow ensnared Ning Fan’s friend! Huo Yunkuang shot Gilded Fang a deadly glare. These fools had really screwed him over!
Who was Ning Fan? Not soone to be trifled with, obviously!
Huo Yunkuang was living proof of this—once before, offending Ning Fan had reduced him to his current plight. Wasn’t that lesson enough?
And now Ning Fan had returned, evidently seeking trouble again. Huo Yunkuang was furious deep down, but he kept a smile plastered to his face.
“Yes, yes, Master Ning. Please say the word—whatever you need, just let know. I’ll make sure those incompetent subordinates of mine pay for offending your friend. Rest assured, I’ll deal with them thoroughly!”
For the sake of his own survival, Huo Yunkuang had no choice but to sacrifice his underlings. Besides, they were the ones who’d ssed up in the first place—who told them to offend Ning Fan?!
Ning Fan pursed his lips. Though he didn’t particularly like Huo Yunkuang, what he said wasn’t wrong. Since resolving Little Eight’s debt smoothly was achievable, Ning Fan decided not to waste further ti and spoke frankly: “My brother took out a loan from you, but you’re too ruthless. Making money—I get that. But driving people to the brink of despair is crossing the line, don’t you think?”
“You’re absolutely right, Master Ning. Your guidance is invaluable. I’ll make sure we change our ways from now on. As for this young man, he doesn’t need to repay his debt. Let’s consider it a token of goodwill. If I’ve offended anyone, I’ll personally co to apologize later. Here, please take this card—don’t feel shy. Master Ning’s friends are my friends too!”
Huo Yunkuang wouldn’t dare protest. What’s one person’s debt anyway? Writing it off was no big deal if it ant ushering Ning Fan out—just like paying to avoid disaster.
As he spoke, he handed a bank card to Little Eight, hoping he could bury the hatchet and move on.
anwhile, Gilded Fang and the others felt their hearts sink entirely. Seeing their boss behave this way, how could they not understand what was happening?
The ones to suffer next were obviously going to be them!
Little Eight stared at the bank card in hesitation. After a mont’s thought, he still chose to refuse.
Seeing Little Eight push the card back, Huo Yunkuang panicked. “Brother, don’t be polite! Just take it—it’s a small gesture of my sincerity. Let’s regard it as an apology, alright? There’s thirty grand on that card, and the password is six sixes. A lucky number!”
At the sa ti, Ning Fan encouraged Little Eight to accept the card. “My brother didn’t intend to skip repaynt. It’s just that you pushed him too hard. From now on, he’ll repay what he borrowed—no more, no less. Little Eight, how much did you borrow?”
“Uh… twenty thousand…” Little Eight muttered, staring at Ning Fan in confusion, unsure of his intentions.
Ning Fan nodded. “Alright, twenty thousand. That’s how much he’ll repay. Right now, he has thirty grand. Take this card, and later pay him back ten thousand in cash. Does that work for you?”
This statent left everyone, from Huo Yunkuang to Little Eight, utterly baffled.
The card Ning Fan ntioned was the sa one Little Eight now held—the one Huo Yunkuang had just given him. In other words, Huo Yunkuang would ultimately have to give Little Eight an additional ten thousand. This ant Little Eight would walk away with a net gain of ten thousand.
Though Huo Yunkuang muttered inwardly about how deftly Ning Fan had orchestrated this payout, he accepted it without protest. Losing ten thousand to settle this matter was still acceptable, especially considering he’d initially planned to cancel Little Eight’s debt completely, aning he’d effectively saved twenty thousand.
“Brother Ning, I can’t take this money!”
Little Eight anxiously turned to Ning Fan, expressing his refusal. It was enough that Ning Fan had helped him resolve the issue—there was no need for extra money!
But Ning Fan wasn’t fazed. He calmly replied, “Think of it as funds for your mother’s dical treatnt. You still need money, don’t you? Take it.”
“I…”
Little Eight struggled inwardly for a mont and finally nodded.
