Chapter 1207: Chapter 973: Application for Retirent

“Colonel Qi, your orders are to patrol the edge of the Capital Star Ring…”

When the Hidden Land battleship appeared on the command center’s internal main screen, surprise was written all over the faces of the various staff, and a slightly plump deputy chief of staff couldn’t help but press the communication button for the Hidden Land battleship.

“I know.”

The serene Qi Longxiang appeared on the screen, smiling as he spoke.

“Then why are you defying orders?”

The deputy chief of staff’s face was full of authority, with deep-seated dissatisfaction flickering in his pupils.

The previous orders had co from him; now that Qi Longxiang returned, he beca the primary target for criticism.

Being labeled as incompetent in leadership would not make the coming days easy.

What’s more, at such a critical mont when such an important position in the command center is vacant, what was the aning of his decision to co back…

Was he aiming for a coup?

The deputy chief of staff’s face gradually turned cold.

“The Third Special Service Fleet has already been dispatched to the designated location according to instructions. I returned because there are so matters I wish to report.” Qi Longxiang stated calmly, his bright eyes as gentle and profound as ever, obscuring the thoughts behind them.

“What matters? This is an internal eting of the command center; you can speak now.”

“It would be better to discuss it in person.”

As Qi Longxiang said this, many people’s expressions changed in the hall.

To speak to the deputy chief of staff in such a manner as a staff officer was a significant breach of respect.

In their mory, the cultured Colonel Qi never spoke in an aggressive manner.

“Very well, I’ll be waiting for you here! Colonel Qi Longxiang!”

The deputy chief of staff slamd his hand on the control panel, and the screen finally turned off.

On the empty command bridge, Qi Longxiang quietly stared at the darkened screen, his expression calm and gentle.

An adjutant saw the screen go dark and quietly approached to ask in a low voice, “Colonel, we’ve circled the planet twice; what’s the next step…”

“No rush. How long since Captain Ruan entered?”

“Forty minutes, but communication was suddenly interrupted just now.”

“Interrupted? Where?”

Qi Longxiang raised an eyebrow involuntarily.

“Base No. 3 Canyon.”

“No. 3… Canyon Base, their shielding authority is below S-level…” Qi Longxiang gazed into the vast expanse of the galaxy outside the window and gently mused to himself.

“I understand. You may leave. Now exit cruising status and target the commanding officers’ Space Port 04 at Central Military Departnt Staff Headquarters for landing preparation.”

“Understood, sir.”

Qi Longxiang raised his palm to indicate for the adjutant to withdraw.

When the command bridge regained its silence, Qi Longxiang gently tapped his fingers on the control panel.

Once, twice, three tis…

“In three months, 27 incidents… not a single exception… personnel in the Ding Chuan system are being fully suppressed?”

“Base No. 3 Canyon… No. 3…”

As the Hidden Land battleship changed its course in an arc toward the ground surface, Qi Longxiang suddenly raised his head, eyes shining with a terrifying gleam.

“The previous S Squad…”

Whoosh!

At that mont, dozens of thick data cables behind Qi Longxiang rose simultaneously on the command platform, and ten floating screens behind him began frantically flashing data.

In that instant, the computing resources Qi Longxiang personally mobilized from the Hidden Land far surpassed the current total occupancy of the central control room.

He closed his eyes, murmuring a string of numbers and enigmatic words.

“Exclude.”

“Confirm.”

“… Hawk 11, initiate.”

“… Hawk 15, information feedback record.”

The officers below the command platform were shocked, quietly exchanging glances.

“This is… warti status. Colonel Qi, he…”

No one knew what Qi Longxiang discovered at that mont.

No one knew that Qi Longxiang had just activated his stealthy Hawk Guard Sentinel system laid out over years on the Capital Star. Involved in the Star Ring defense construction, the official projects he undertook were twice the usual load.

They only knew the Hidden Land battleship continued heading toward the command center.

However, after one minute, Qi Longxiang’s eyes finally opened, none of his icy gaze revealing the slightest emotion.

He pressed the button for direct communication with the command center beside him without care.

“Colonel Qi, what is it… have you arrived?” The deputy chief of staff’s grim face appeared on the screen.

“Almost. By the way, I’d like to verify sothing.”

“What?”

“Can soone without any military rit command the Third Fleet?”

Qi Longxiang asked flatly, causing a drastic change in the deputy chief of staff’s expression; his gaze went completely dark at this mont. He stared at Qi Longxiang’s face and enunciated each word: “What are you talking about! You–”

“Oh, nothing. No need to worry, sir. It was just a guess.”

Qi Longxiang blinked his eyes, calmly said, “Colonel Qi Longxiang, having fulfilled the service obligation stipulated by the Military Departnt, now… applies for retirent.”

At that mont, the command center’s eting hall beca dead silent.

No matter their rank, everyone fell silent, staring at the screen.

None of them expected to hear such a shocking announcent.

Presenting it so casually, akin to buying vegetables at a market and ntioning it so nonchalantly in conversation, was unheard of.

The deputy chief of staff resembled a rooster choked by the neck, his face flushing red with anger. He consistently pointed at Qi Longxiang, but not a single word of persuasion escaped his lips.

Qi Longxiang’s face remained gentle: “The commander need not trouble himself. The Hidden Land battleship will land shortly, so please arrange the handover promptly.”

Instantly, the hall erupted in commotion.

Seeing the restless atmosphere on the screen’s other side, a subtle ripple flashed in Qi Longxiang’s lowered eyes.

“The cooperation here is strange; at last, there’s an internal breakthrough point… I hope my analysis proves wrong.”

The screen turned off, and Qi Longxiang closed his eyes, slowly turning to the other side.

To his side, on the densely packed screens, the base hidden beneath the canyon was fully revealed.

Beneath the façade of disguise, the astonishing Flying Dragon battleship was clearly visible.

Creek, creek.

A bald man in a combat suit without rank was presently striding on the ground, the clear sound of his boots clashing with the tal surface resonating throughout.

Since entering the channel at the canyon’s base, only the two ard lieutenants following behind broke the silence in the corridor.

Watching the robustly built man ahead, a sliver of fear and caution flashed in the lieutenants’ eyes, despite showing no physical indication.

“Captain Ruan, we’ve arrived.”

The two lieutenants now stood to attention, then moved to stand on either side of Ruan Xiongfei.

“Arrived?”

The bald man’s lips curled into a faint arc. He did not step inside but leisurely turned around, looking at the two ostensibly composed lieutenants.

“Let’s go in together.”
