Chapter 785: Chapter 558: Do You Understand the Rules for New Recruits?

Joe Pate shook a laser dog tag.

Even under the dim gray sky, it still reflected the tallic luster.

Mu Fan remained unmoved, simply patting the black robot beside him amidst the jesting glances from the crowd.

The seemingly rudintary pilot robot’s eyes glowed blue, then it stepped forward and extended its hand.

A light blue laser scanned over the laser dog tag.

“Identification complete. Identity confird, Sergeant First Class—Joe Pate, belonging to the 27th Infantry Battalion of the 104th Division.”

The chanical electronic voice emitted from the robot’s mouth, and Mu Fan nodded his head.

The faces opposite him had already erupted into laughter.

“Hahaha, Joe, such an interesting little guy, totally disrespected you, huh. I feel the 149th Division did nothing wrong sending a greenhorn our way~~”

“Are you operating according to the academies’ textbook guidelines?”

“Shut up, all of you!”

Joe Pate barked at his comrades, and they obediently clamped their mouths shut.

Having reinstated his authority, Joe looked at Mu Fan, “We can take over the supplies now, right?”

“Yes, Private Mu Fan reporting to you. From the day of takeover, I will be under the command of the 27th Infantry Battalion.”

Mu Fan, from beginning to end, had experienced no psychological fluctuation due to the reactions of these people—it was nothing new, after all, having dealt with the veterans’ deanor on Planet 131.

“Very well, let’s begin inspecting the supplies now.”

Joe didn’t pay Mu Fan much attention, simply waving towards the back, and a swarm of soldiers rushed up, attacking the shipnt like a pack of starving refugees without any air of dignity.

At this mont, all cargo doors on the two transport vehicles were wide open, allowing the soldiers to easily inspect all the supplies.

Within seconds, cheers and exclamations followed:

“Is the 149th Division planning a charity drive?”

“Are these Interceptor Exoskeleton Armors? These boxes are battery packs.”

“Holy crap, there are so many Pulse Rifles here, even furnished with four large boxes of standard ammunition.”

“Damn it, there’s a whole truckload of military rations here. We won’t have to starve anymore!” a soldier shouted excitedly as he opened the second transport’s door.

Listening to the lively discussions, a smile appeared on Joe’s face.

Although this newbie was a bit dull, the supplies he brought were impeccable, and that was sothing to be satisfied about!

The soldiers sward up, then ca back down, and lined up behind Joe, their eyes greedily fixed on Mu Fan standing alone with two machines.

Soone shouted, “Take these two blokes with us too!”

Suddenly, they rushed forward, surrounding the two robots next to Mu Fan.

“This arm isn’t bad, taking it apart could serve as a supplent for my Exoskeleton.”

“The steel plate of this back armor looks good; I think it can make my baby even more perfect.”

Listening to the chatter of the big soldiers around him, Lord Black was nearly riled up.

There was a bunch of high-explosive bombs on the transport, and angering Lord Black would have ended badly for everyone!

Daring to covet the body of the boss, Daddy could not tolerate!

The two black robots assud a defensive stance with their arms, and their blue electronic eyes turned red, clearly activating alert mode.

However, this stance made the soldiers pause for a mont, then burst out laughing.

The robot actually knew what was going on?

Was it planning a rebellion?

“Useless to resist; if you resist you’ll be smashed to bits.”

A black Sergeant raised his Pulse Rifle, speaking seriously, but then couldn’t help laughing.

The feeling of threatening a robot was just too damn bizarre.

Black, controlling the robots, was about to draw the pistol from his arm on seeing this scene.

However, Mu Fan extended his right hand to press down the about-to-rebel Black, not for any other reason, but because that robot, although it had not spoken…

But Black was already driving him crazy with his chatter in his ears.

All sorts of phrases like “your daddy” and “your grandpa” were thrown around incessantly.

However, Black’s actions were a bit too extre, there was no need to bring guns into this.

It was only when they noticed Mu Fan’s movents that these people’s attention finally shifted slightly.

But there were no shortage of quick-witted soldiers among them.

“The rucksack on this kid’s back is huge, he must have plenty of good stuff.”

Then soone said sothing, and their eyes instantly lit up.

Right, those two robots could be taken apart and used for spare parts.

This kid’s big backpack must also have a lot of good stuff, right?

“So you’ve got such a big backpack, did you hoard supplies for yourself?”

Soone blurted out the question.

Before Joe could open his mouth to respond, these people could no longer hold back.

Hearing this, Mu Fan’s vigilant eyes turned towards them, frowning.

“This is my own backpack.”

“How could you have such a big rucksack on your own, you followed the transport truck here, how could you not take anything, open it up and let us see.”

A ddleso soldier yelled out.

“Private, what’s in your rucksack?” Joe, whose face was indiscernible from the dirt, stepped forward. Unlike the others who blindly joined the commotion, he actually seed sowhat serious at this mont.

“Food, a total of twenty kilograms of compressed biscuits.”

Mu Fan couldn’t make out what Joe was thinking, but he also didn’t want to dwell on this issue, as these were treasures he had purchased again.

“Twenty kilograms…”

“Compressed biscuits?”

People nearby swallowed their saliva with a gulp.

“Uh-huh, beef flavor, chicken flavor, onion roasted…” Mu Fan said while simultaneously taking off his backpack with one hand and pulling out a packaged compressed biscuit with another.

He tore it open and chewed and swallowed it right in front of everyone.

“Holy shit, it really is, twenty kilograms, that’s enough for one person for five months.”

The key was that the kid ntioned there were multiple flavors, instantly turning a few more eyes green.

In the Fire Hills region, their water was relatively plentiful, but food was seriously lacking.

Moreover, the packaging of the biscuits the kid just had in his hand was nothing like the disgustingly bad rations commonly found in the military.

“Leave your backpack behind, we need it more than you do.”

Another white sergeant clad in Exoskeleton Armor stepped forward, speaking to Mu Fan with an undeniable tone.

At this mont, the focus was all on the white sergeant and Mu Fan. As for the recently vocal Joe Pate, he stayed silent. Faced with a choice between a greenhorn and these seasoned soldiers willing to fight hard, he would obviously choose the latter.

Mu Fan looked up at the sergeant in front of him who now stood over two ters tall in his Exoskeleton Armor, then he zipped up his backpack, fastened the Velcro, and calmly stated:

“This is mine.”

“No~No~No, it’s mine now. A new recruit should know to obey the veterans, you understand that’s the rule?”

The white sergeant waggled a finger at Mu Fan and said with a smile.

With this batch of supplies, his mood was very good, giving him the leisure to lecture the novice in front of him. If it were a usual day, he would have kicked out already.

A round of laughter erupted among those nearby.

But the laughter ceased abruptly when the next statent sounded.

“I don’t know.”

Mu Fan spoke expressionlessly.

“The supplies in those two vehicles are yours, I haven’t touched a thing, this backpack is mine, and you’d best not get any funny ideas.”

Surrounded by a group of fully ard soldiers, Mu Fan’s face showed not a trace of fear, rely stating his case calmly, with a hint of warning in his words.

“Tsks, Joe, this puts in a tough spot,” the white sergeant said with a raised eyebrow, remarking to Joe Pate in surprise.
