Crack!
The car door opened, and Jiang Chen stepped out from the passenger seat, his face a livid hue, holding a cane in his hand.
Yan Hu stepped down from the driver’s side simultaneously, casting a glance at the military camp before him, with a flash of puzzlent in his eyes.
"Gentlen, this is a military restricted area, entry is prohibited!" Two soldiers on guard ca up to Jiang Chen and his companion, extending their arms to block their path.
Jiang Chen, expressionless, pulled a credential from his pocket and handed it over.
One of the soldiers hesitated for a mont, then took the credential and opened it to inspect.
"The chief instructor of Dragon Tooth? Interdiate Rank Officer?!" The soldier exclaid twice in surprise, while the other soldier’s eyes widened in astonishnt as he gazed at Jiang Chen.
Jiang Chen’s brow furrowed slightly as he detected sothing amiss in the soldier’s exclamations.
Now, every soldier in Fla Dragon knew that the cultivation technique they practiced was his creation, and they all knew that his military rank was that of an Interdiate Rank Officer, a fact that was no secret within the military.
Yet, these two soldiers seed utterly unaware, which sparked a revelation in Jiang Chen’s mind!
These two... they must be mbers of the Fla Dragon Group dressed in military uniforms, right?
Jiang Chen scrutinized the two soldiers.
"I’m sorry but you cannot enter, Chief Instructor Jiang," said the soldier politely as he returned the credential.
"I cannot enter?" Jiang Chen raised an eyebrow, took back the credential, and said with an indifferent face, "Whether it’s the military or your Fla Dragon Group, I really don’t know of any place I don’t have access to!"
"You... you know of our Fla Dragon Group?!" The two soldiers looked at Jiang Chen with surprise.
With a dismissive glance at the two, Jiang Chen replied coldly, "Stop pretending. Judging by your reactions, you should know why I’m here. Step aside!"
"Sorry, Chief Instructor Jiang, we can’t let you in. You are not one of us in the Fla Dragon Group!" The soldiers’ expressions turned stern as they stared intently at Jiang Chen.
"Are you sure?" A glint of frost flashed in Jiang Chen’s eyes as he stared coldly back at them.
The soldiers shivered internally, feeling a frigid aura rising from the soles of their feet to the top of their heads.
"Chief Instructor Jiang, please don’t make this difficult for us. We... we’re only following orders!" One of the soldiers pleaded with a pained expression, murmuring, "We all respect you, Chief Instructor Jiang, but when the immortals battle, we re mortals truly have no say!"
"Immortals battling?" Jiang Chen’s brow furrowed slightly, a contemplative look flashing in his eyes.
The two soldiers exchanged a look, released a quiet sigh of relief, and their gaze towards Jiang Chen carried a hint of reverence.
The deeds of Jiang Chen were sowhat known to the mbers of the Fla Dragon Group, and they had their respective opinions of him.
"Who’s in charge here? Co out to !" Suddenly, Jiang Chen activated his Inner Qi and bellowed into the depths of the camp.
The soldiers blinked, rapidly understanding Jiang Chen’s intention, and looked at him gratefully as they stepped back towards the entrance of the camp.
Jiang Chen’s call echoed through the camp, but no one appeared at the entrance.
A cold gleam shot through Jiang Chen’s eyes, and a surge of Blood Fiend Aura burst forth from within him. An overwhelming pressure pressed down upon the entire camp, as Jiang Chen’s shout resounded through the jungle, "Who’s the person in charge here? Co out! Right now, imdiately, co out!"
"Who’s the person in charge here? Co out! Right now, imdiately, co out!"
"Who’s the person in charge here? Co out! Right now, imdiately, co out!"
From within the camp, from the jungle, the echoes spread!
"Who is it?!"
"I don’t know!"
"Who’s so arrogant? Daring to cause trouble in our place!?"
"Looking at this montum, the newcor must be an expert!"
A stir of commotion arose in the military camp.
Within the steel fortress, rows upon rows of small two and three-story buildings were arranged.
In the northern part of the camp, there was an area covered with electric nets consisting of single-story bungalows.
In the central bungalow, Shen Xiangtian, Chen Jiantao, and several others were surrounding Bao Xiong to give him simple treatnt for his injuries.
"Those bastards! Once I get out, I’ll make sure they pay!" roared Huo Pao, filled with anger.
Whir!
Shen Xiangtian’s face turned ashen as he glanced at Bao Xiong, an uncontrollable surge of Evil Qi erupting from within him!
At this mont, Bao Xiong was slumped against the wall, his complexion deathly pale, fresh blood continuously spilling from his mouth, his chest completely caved in, his left leg twisted and lying on the ground, and his right arm hanging limply by his side.
Slap!
A light sound rang out as Chen Jiantao reached out and patted Shen Xiangtian’s shoulder, pressing down gently, and spoke in a deep voice, "Old Shen, don’t be impulsive! Bao Xiong has already inford the chief instructor, he..."
"He what?"
Shen Xiangtian turned his head and glared at Chen Jiantao, a look of extre helplessness in his eyes: "We have always relied on the chief instructor; every battle has him leading the charge. Now, we’ve been betrayed by our own, and we still have to rely on the chief instructor to save us. What are we? What am I? I’m your captain, but I can’t do anything for you. I... I feel so much hatred! I loathe my incompetence!"
Chen Jiantao and the others were montarily stunned, their eyes revealing a hint of dismay.
"We... we are brothers. The chief instructor... is also our brother... When in trouble... seeking help from brothers... is not shaful," Bao Xiong said weakly, leaning on the wall.
Shen Xiangtian and the others froze, staring dumbly at Bao Xiong.
Bao Xiong, feeling perplexed under their gazes, said weakly, "What’s wrong? Did I... say sothing... incorrect?"
"Right!" Shen Xiangtian nodded vehently, a spark of realization in his eyes: "I was being narrow-minded! You’re right, we are brothers, the chief instructor is also our brother, it’s not shaful to ask for help from a brother in tis of trouble!"
Whew!
Taking a long breath, Shen Xiangtian turned and saluted Chen Jiantao and the others: "Brothers, I’m sorry. Actually, I felt sothing was off from the mont we left the Martial Alliance Headquarters, but my pride got the better of , and I didn’t notify the chief instructor in advance, causing all of you to suffer. I apologize!"
Whoosh!
Chen Jiantao and the others saluted Shen Xiangtian in return, Bao Xiong against the wall being no exception.
"Captain, are you jealous of the chief instructor?" Chen Jiantao asked half-jokingly.
"Haha, yes, I really am envious of that guy!" Shen Xiangtian seed suddenly enlightened by Bao Xiong’s words, his tone carrying a hint of ease.
Chen Jiantao glanced at Shen Xiangtian aningfully, feeling a sense of relief.
For so ti now, Chen Jiantao felt that Shen Xiangtian seed preoccupied with sothing. After covertly observing for a while, Chen Jiantao was surprised to find that Shen Xiangtian always seed unnatural whenever they ntioned Jiang Chen.
This discovery made Chen Jiantao worry inexplicably. One of them was Long Ya’s chief instructor, the greatest benefactor who had brought the brothers this far, and the other was the captain who had always been with them.
If... a rift occurred between Shen Xiangtian and Jiang Chen, it would be disastrous.
Chen Jiantao kept this secret to himself and worried whether such an event would take place.
In the recent grand battle at the Martial Alliance Headquarters, the first group that went to support Jiang Chen did not include Chen Jiantao; Shen Xiangtian had arranged for Chen Jiantao to stay behind to command. Insisting that their combined strength could maximize the power of the Battle Array, Chen Jiantao followed along, fearing what might happen.
However, the formation of that battle array reassured Chen Jiantao—if there really were grudges in his heart, it would have been absolutely impossible to achieve unity in spirit before the battle.
After the battle, Chen Jiantao pondered for a long ti before he realized.
Shen Xiangtian was jealous of Jiang Chen!
