At that mont, Gong Lin flashed a slight smile, glanced at Gong Yue’s retreating figure, then turned to Jiang Chen with a chuckling gaze, "I heard from Gong Yue that she had you change cars, all so Li Susu would know you’re not useless and won’t just drive Gong Yue’s car to save face!"

On the second floor of Pengcheng Hotel, Li Susu ascended the stairs with an icy expression.
"Susu!" A shout ca over, and Li Wenhao greeted her with a beaming face. He glanced behind Li Susu and asked in surprise, "Where’s Gong Lin?"
Li Susu curled her lip, "Gong Lin has to et an important client tonight, she doesn’t have the ti to co."
"This... How are we going to explain this to Tan Linfeng? Tan Linfeng is the nephew of Pengcheng Hotel’s owner. That owner is a big shot who deals with both the underworld and the lawful side around here, and has connections with President Lin Bingrui, the overwhelming power of Dingjing areas."
Li Susu’s eyes brightened, and the corners of her mouth lifted into a malevolent smile, "Really? That’s great!"

"Oh, she..." Li Wenhao was about to reply when Li Susu cut in, "Lin Lin got held up with sothing, she’ll be here in a bit!"
After speaking, Li Susu gave Li Wenhao a aningful look. Although he wasn’t quite sure what she was up to, he closed his mouth, trusting that Li Susu wouldn’t let Jiang Chen off easily.
"Is that so," ng Yuanyuan nodded.
"Lin Feng, it’s been a long ti," Li Susu turned and greeted the young man sitting at the head of the table with a light laugh.
Tan Linfeng nodded slightly, asking indifferently, "When is Gong Lin coming?"
"She said she had to go ho to drop off a docunt, she should be here soon," Li Susu replied, a flash of jealousy in her eyes, though she didn’t show it.
Tan Linfeng nodded again, not saying anything more.
"Let’s start ordering, by the ti... by the ti Gong Lin arrives, the dishes should be just ready!" Li Wenhao spoke with a light laugh, glancing at Tan Linfeng as if seeking approval. After all, Tan Linfeng was the most distinguished among those present at the table.

Li Susu stood up and looked toward the stairs, where Jiang Chen was holding his phone, looking around.
Their gazes t. Jiang Chen hung up the phone and walked towards Li Susu and the others.
"Why did you co? Where’s Gong Lin?" As Jiang Chen approached, Li Susu asked with a serious tone.
Jiang Chen was slightly taken aback and said in surprise, "Lin Lin has a client eting tonight, you..."
"If she’s not coming, what are you here for?" Li Susu glared at Jiang Chen with an accusing look, then turned with an apologetic look to Tan Linfeng, "Lin Feng, I’m really sorry, I...this..."
"It’s okay, it’s good he’s here!"
Tan Linfeng didn’t let Li Susu continue and instead looked up directly at Jiang Chen, sizing him up with a venomous gaze several tis before asking coldly, "Are you Jiang Chen?"
"Yes, I am," Jiang Chen nodded faintly.

"Jiang Chen, apologize to Lin Feng right now!" Li Susu commanded in a low shout.
Jiang Chen looked at Li Susu, then turned and scanned the people at the table, saying faintly, "Since I’m not welco here, I’ll be leaving then!"
No sooner had he finished speaking than Jiang Chen turned and walked toward the stairwell.
"Stop!" Tan Linfeng barked loudly.
