Vermilion Bird returned to Jiang Chen and the others’ side, bowed solemnly towards Jiang Chen, "When we infiltrated the base, you took the lead, and I was rely going through the motions. The four Paladin Knights inside the base were all taken down by you! For this mission, you ought to receive the highest comndation!"
The faces of Blood Kylin and his group changed slightly as they all looked towards Jiang Chen. They had thought that Vermilion Bird would be leading this infiltration, as Jiang Chen wasn’t truly a soldier, but they hadn’t expected Vermilion Bird to admit that he just played a minor role!
At this mont, in the hearts of Blood Kylin and the others, Jiang Chen’s figure lood larger than life.
"Dragon King, thank you!" Blood Kylin gave Jiang Chen a formal military salute, solemnly.
Jiang Chen returned the salute, his expression dark as he spoke, "No need to thank . Such a base, such an organization, shouldn’t exist!"
Blood Kylin and the others were stunned for a mont, sensing that Jiang Chen was sowhat off at that ti.
"Dragon King, I have a few questions I’d like to ask you!" Vermilion Bird said solemnly.
In a soft voice, Jiang Chen said, "I know what you want to ask. Let’s wait until the brothers have cleaned up the scene, and we’ll talk after leaving this place. There are so things I need to think through."
"Okay!" Vermilion Bird nodded firmly, having so guess as to what Jiang Chen might be contemplating. Earlier, Jiang Chen had avoided taking the Gene Potion from Azure Dragon’s hand, and after exiting, he had discarded two doses of the potion, leading Vermilion Bird to suspect sothing!

Xing Fei briskly arrived beside the group, holding two storage devices in her hand, excitedly offering them to Jiang Chen, "Dragon King, these were found in the ruins and might be the Gene Potion you were talking about!"
The expressions of Blood Kylin and the others brightened with joy, while Vermilion Bird’s expression changed, glancing at Jiang Chen before reaching out for the storage devices!

With an unpleasant look, Jiang Chen quickly countered, stopping Vermilion Bird’s reaching hand, and took hold of the two storage devices.
"This..." Blood Kylin and the others were taken aback, looking with bewildernt at Jiang Chen and Vermilion Bird.
"Vermilion Bird, what are you doing?" Blood Kylin glared at Vermilion Bird, disgruntled.
In an urgent voice, Vermilion Bird said, "Dragon King, since these two potions weren’t destroyed, please don’t destroy them anymore!"
"Destroy!?" Blood Kylin and the others looked in surprise at Vermilion Bird.
With a complex expression, Vermilion Bird explained, "When we ca out of the underground base, the Dragon King was holding three doses of the potion, but when we left the entrance of the underground base, the Dragon King threw two of them back into the base, these two! There were only three doses of Gene Potion left in the underground base!"
Xing Fei paused, her eyes filled with apology as she looked at Jiang Chen. Regardless of the reasons Jiang Chen had for wanting to destroy those two potions, her bringing them back was a mistake.
"Fei’er, it’s not your fault!"
Noticing the apology in Xing Fei’s eyes, Jiang Chen reassured her softly, then raised his head to Blood Kylin. After hesitating for a mont, he said in a grave tone, "Let’s talk about it later, I haven’t decided yet."
Blood Kylin was slightly startled, furrowed his brow, and gave Jiang Chen a puzzled look, then turned his gaze questioningly towards Vermilion Bird.
Vermilion Bird gently shook her head, also unsure of what had happened.
Turning her head, Vermilion Bird looked toward Su Yun. If there could be sothing that happened without her knowledge, it would be during the ti she was in the archives room, and at that ti, only Su Yun and Jiang Chen were together.
Su Yun opened her mouth and her complexion changed several tis. She gently shook her head. She didn’t want to say anything; this matter could only be resolved once Jiang Chen figured it out himself. Moreover, she didn’t know what to say, because she also didn’t know what should be done!
Vermilion Bird’s brow furrowed slightly. She realized that Su Yun wasn’t ignorant but rather unwilling to speak. A trace of cold killing intent appeared in her eyes, as she considered that Jiang Chen might have been misled by Su Yun.
"Vermilion Bird, Su Yun is not involved with this matter," Jiang Chen saw what Vermilion Bird was thinking and softly reminded her.
The Kylin and the others looked on with confusion, completely unaware of what was happening. Since Jiang Chen remained silent, they could only quietly wait.
Outside Luer City, within a dense forest a hundred miles away.
After cleaning up the battlefield, Jiang Chen and his party left the Fallen Angels’ base and found a relatively flat area to camp in the dense forest. Once Xing Fei moved, Xuan Long and the others furrowed their brows and rushed over, Vermilion Bird and others also gathered around. The scene took on a sowhat confrontational tone for a mont.
"Everyone, don’t misunderstand, I..." Kylin, seeing the situation, quickly began to explain, but then he suddenly realized he didn’t know how to explain and felt, perhaps, that he didn’t need to.
"It’s okay," Jiang Chen glanced at the Long Ya brothers and Long Yan brothers heading his way and called out, "Everyone, rest. We’re going to have a eting."
Only then did the brothers go about their duties, so keeping watch and others resting.

Everyone sat down together, Xuan Long and Xing Fei deliberately keeping Jiang Chen separated from Kylin and his people. Mo Bao and his brothers, seeing this, promptly sat on Jiang Chen’s other side, separating him from Xuan Wu as well.
After glancing at the people on both sides, Su Yun silently took a seat next to Jiang Chen.
"I’ve been pondering a question, but I have yet to co up with an answer I can accept. Kylin, tell the truth, what do you need this information and potion for?" Jiang Chen stared directly at Kylin, his voice emotionless.
Kylin was briefly stunned, his brow creasing slightly as he said earnestly, "Dragon King, are you worried I might keep it for myself? I assure you, once I have the information and potion, I will deliver it back ho imdiately. If the Dragon King is concerned, he can send soone with to return!
"I’m not talking about that. What I’m asking is, what does ’ho’ want with these?" Jiang Chen’s expression shifted subtly, a serious look flashing across his eyes.
Kylin appeared surprised for a mont. His brow furrowed as he replied solemnly, "Dragon King, you shouldn’t be asking this question!"
"I must ask! And I need to know the answer!" Jiang Chen spoke in a stern tone. "I don’t want the inhumane substances I’ve risked my life to retrieve to be injected into my compatriots soday, turning them into gene-mutated monsters! I don’t want my kin to turn into experints because of the information I’ve brought back!"
Xuan Long and the others were taken aback, glancing at the gene potion container that Jiang Chen had been carrying since their return, and then they all turned their gaze to Kylin.
